The Fateless

Crashing against the ground would hurt, without a doubt. To add to that, the enemy's attack was coming right after my head. If I don't do something, it could get dangerous!

"Then... how about this?!"

I opened a portal right as I passed by an area. The other end of it was located right above the enemy. The golden staff poked right through it at the speed of sound and appeared on the other end, landing a direct hit on the enemy's shoulder.

At that moment, I landed properly, turning around and jumping up, reaching toward the enemy once more.

"Haha! Didn't expect that, did you?!"

I taunted a little, but then I noticed a gold flash coming for my face once more. 

Tilting my body out of the way by reflex, I quickly erected a barrier around my body as I did. Right then, the staff's end continued to pierce through, smashing through my barrier and all, before crashing on the ground, raising a powerful blast as rocks and dust exploded.
