Chapter Eight

Daniel went upstairs, took out the clothes that were a little too big for him and brought them downstairs. The boy with dark red hair was more body built and muscular than Daniel was so Daniel thought the cloth sizes he selected should be the perfect one for him in particular, singling out the other guy with natural brown hair.

"Here". Daniel tossed the clothes to them.

"You can go upstairs and change,, or you can just use the bathroom". Daniel creaked a door open right from the parlor that led to the outside built bathroom.

Alec and Basil went out the door and came back a few minutes later with their body covered.

"I will never forget that gentleman's body in a haste". Daniel thought to himself as the heat rose to his cheek, he was blushing.

"My name is Alec and my friend here is Basil, and you're". Alec stretched out his hand to shake the human.

"Basil". Daniel repeated.

"Like the fresh herbs used in cooking". Daniel taunted.

Basil was embarrassed as the human was making ridicule of his name. If only he wasn't the love of Alec's life, he would have surely drowned the human in the sea.

"But it's a foolish name. I bet any high school you were at they would probably have made jest of your name, like even call you batty". Daniel smirked.

"Daniel, where are your manners". Grandma cautioned.

"Sorry about that, my grandson can be rude at times, but he meant no harm". Grandma said.

"Should I offer you guys anything"? Grandma added.

"Thanks for your kindness, but we don't need anything".

Alec was a sea creature, he feeds on other sea creatures that are of a lesser class, and the last thing he wanted to show the humans was he liked taking his fish raw.

"Alright in absence of you guys not needing anything I would have to say goodnight then". Grandma said, she stood up with Grandpa and together the both of them walked up the stairs to their room.

"Goodnight Daniel, don't sleep late, so you would be able to wake up early and go to school". Grandma called out.

"Yes grandma". Daniel rolled his eyes.

Basil had felt Daniel was rude, and he didn't like him for Alec. He felt Daniel was so full of himself,, and maybe he was right.

"What's in your bag?". Daniel pointed to the bag Alec had had around his shoulder for a while.

"It's…". Alec felt it was better for him to show him the contents that were inside than say them out, probably he didn't know each one of the items he had picked their names in his adventures.

Alec laid out the items on the dining table, as it was there they all sat. It ranged from precious stones, pearls, spoons, mirrors, and so many junks.

"Whoa, how did you come in possession of this". Daniel picked out a diamond he knew might be worth a million to a billion dollars.

"My adventures in the sea got me that". Alec was straight with his answer, which got the human confused and checked the boy's age. Daniel felt he was around the same age as him, he shouldn't be in the sea doing things like that, those sorts of things are things for experts and professionals in the field like ocean divers, but him?

"He is just an 18-year-old boy who I don't think is even done with high school". Daniel said.

"Are you boys voyagers". Daniel asked.

"No". Basil who knew the meaning of the word the human asked responded because Alec went quiet after hearing the word. He didn't know what it meant, and answering what he doesn't know might make him say the wrong thing and get a bad impression from the human.

Alec was happy Basil knew the word and answered quickly. He must make a good score on the human Daniel if he wants his soul back.

"There's something about how you looked at this precious stone". Basil asked.

"Yeah…you will be so fucking rich if you sell this in the market". Daniel bluntly said.

It was perfect for Alec and Basil, it seems everything was turning out good for them without stress. They had to look for a buyer who will be interested to buy and give them good money for it; rent an apartment and most importantly buy clothes for themselves.

"Oh…". Basil said.

"Considering selling, I will tell you something later when the human falls asleep". Basil spoke in a weird tongue only Alec understood. The language was way over the moon and incomprehensible, it was inaudible and mostly full of murmurs.

"What was that". Daniel asked. He was curious to know what they talked about.

"Nothing". Just as Alec wanted to give Daniel the answer to what he asked, Daniel's phone chimed. Daniel saw the name on the screen of his phone,, and it was Jasper.

"Why would Jasper be calling me at this time of the night". Daniel thought. He made it clear he wanted nothing to do with fags.

He accepted the call to hear sobbing from the other side, Jasper was sobbing.

"Hello, Jasper". Daniel greeted. Daniel waited for some minutes for Jasper to respond, but the other end remained silent.

"Jasper, if you don't have anything to say I'm going to hang up now". Daniel said, a little stern with his voice.

"Shut the fuck up, Daniel". Jasper finally responded, shouting at the other end as if he were losing his sanity.

"It's all your fault". Jasper added.

"Justin is in a critical condition, and it's all your fault. If for one thing, Justin dies tonight, I will never forgive you, Daniel". Jasper said hanging up the call.

Daniel tried Jasper's number a few times after Jasper hung up the call on him, but anytime he did Jasper intentionally rejected the call.

Daniel didn't blame him, he deserved such treatment, judging he was the one who put Justin in such a condition that he had to be admitted to the hospital. Daniel wasn't at peace finding out his best friend is in critical condition, and it was all because of him.

Daniel began sobbing.

"I was too harsh on him". He thought as tears welled up in his eyes, threatening to fall.

"Whoever had called the human must have caused him a lot of pain for him to be in this kind of condition". Alec thought to himself. He felt sad watching the human cry, and he couldn't do anything about it to improve it, so he stood up and moved to where Daniel stood with his phone in his hand trying to reach Jasper.

Alec curled his hand around Daniel's waist and stood beside him, Daniel didn't react to the touch nor did he move away from it.

He turned to stare deep into the sea mortal, enchanting emerald eyes. Something about him had felt familiar to Daniel, but he can't place what it is. His emerald eyes were the most beautiful thing Daniel thought he had ever seen. The color of his eyes was so vibrant that they looked like emerald stone.

"Why are you sad". Alec asked bluntly.

Normally, Daniel should move away and punch the stranger in the face for coming near him, but he just couldn't. There was something about Alec that weakened Daniel,, and he couldn't fight against it.

Daniel looked down to his waist, Alec's hand was still there holding on to him, and he wished they remained there. Just as if Alec knew what the human was thinking about, he added his right hand and brought the human close to him that their body was a few centimeters to touch.

"Why can't I push him away". Daniel thought to himself, staring deep into Alec's eyes. He was transfixed by his eyes and touch.

"What's this weird feeling of butterfly in my stomach". Daniel brought his gaze to Alec's full crimson lips.

"I don't think I can control myself for long if he continues to be this innocent and submissive". Alec thought.

"You know, you haven't told me why you're sad". Alec repeated his question, cutting Daniel's a little daze short.

"It's my friend". Daniel doesn't know why he feels he could tell Alec anything, he felt he could be free with him, and he had known him for a long time.

"I hurt him so badly and he is in the hospital because of me". Daniel finally let go of the tears he had been holding back for a long.

"Don't cry". Alec said sad, he used his finger to wipe off the tears that stained Daniel's face.

"Your friend is going to get better". Alec assured, and Daniel took reassurance from his words. He doesn't know why but he believed Alec when he said Justin will be alright.

"I think I will go up to the room and sleep". Daniel stuttered, disconnecting from Alec's touch, it was unlike him to feel that way. He felt so vulnerable under Alec's eyes.

"Ok, my friend and I will just use your couch for the night". Alec hated it that they disconnected their physical touch. He wanted to be always close to the human and touch him, as he felt immense joy in his heart when his skin touches the human owner. Something about the human skin felt so warm, not his own that always felt cold to him.

Alec watched the human through every step he took to his room. They waved each other goodnight and Daniel's face finally disappeared into his room, making the sea creature long for his face. Alec missed Daniel just for a second, he didn't see the human face.

"Way to go, prince". Basil said, coming to Alec's side and patting his back. He had made a good move on Daniel.

"If we continue like this, it wouldn't be hard to get a true love kiss from him, would it"? Alec said hopefully looking at the door Daniel disappeared in.

"But why do you even love him, he is rude, arrogant, and even made fun of me". Basil pouted, remembering what the human called him earlier on.

"Batty". Basil thought.

"I don't care if he is arrogant, rude or if he made fun of your name. But there's something about him. I feel I have always known him". Alec said.

"The only time you met him was when you saved him. It's impossible you have known someone as rude as him before". Basil said.

"I just have this strong feeling I have known him before, and I feel he also feels the same. The way he looks at me with those gray eyes of his". Alec walked to the comfy couch and sat down.

"Ok… about the precious stones". Basil diverted the topic.

"We need a house just like theirs, clothes, and also to go to the same school as Daniel if you want to bond with him and get the true love kiss from him before our time is up". Alec remembered he just had six months to get a true love first kiss from Daniel before he loses his body.

"Yes". Alec nodded, agreeing with Basil.

"I guess the only chance we have to get all that is if we sell one of the precious stones". Alec added.

"But to who then". Basil said.

"Humans wear all these jewels around their neck, wrist, and ankles. We could ask a random human where to buy an expensive jewel, and they will give us the location of one. We could sell it there. What do you think"? Alec said excitedly, happy he was able to come up with such an idea.

"It's a fine idea to me. We're on our way to getting your true love's first kiss". Basil smiled.

"Yes… I can't wait to kiss the human again". Alec's mind swayed to the last memory he had, kissing Daniel.
