With nothing else to do, Aine headed back to the street. The light above the bus stop threw flickering shadows over the bench and its two new occupants. The pair of teenage girls surveyed their surroundings with wide eyes and nervous, drunk giggles.
Aine checked his watch and the faded bus stop schedule. It claimed another bus would stop within the hour. Would Tom come back to catch it? Bayard claimed Tom was predictable, and did things the same way, but with his abilities it would be just as easy for him to zip home.
If he's even going to his den, now. There was a chance he might head for the warehouse where Donna and an unnamed male were, seeking help.
Even if he does, he'll come home eventually. There were only a handful of hours left until dawn, and no vampire would stay out after that, unless they wanted to turn into a crunchy mess. Going to Tom's den seemed like the best option. Better to entrench himself there and wait to surprise him.
