The Chase

Placing my 2 silver pieces onto the counter, I gave Zebar a nod and quickly got up.

I overheard Kaiden asking what this Athena looked like and as I walked passed them Xenneth tail got caught into my cloak pulling down my hood in the struggle to gain it back.

The air was dry at that point as I looked dead into her eyes as hers widened.

"YOU!" She yelled as I grabbed my cloak back and darted out the front door.

Mud splashed as they chased me through the town passing some of the villagers that called this place home. Hanging lights from the building zoomed pass like strings of orbs as we zig zagged through alley ways and passages.

I must have hit a dent in the road I thought was solid fouled by the water that puddled on top of it, for the next thing I knew I tripped and fell onto the wet hard ground.

I moaned in agony more confused on what the heck just happened but before I could even caught my breath a strong hand grabbed my hood taking my hair with it. It was the vampire that had me in her grip, she looked me up and down and I dangled in mid-air. She dropped me and I flopped back onto the ground hitting my backside hard.

"Was that really necessary?" I groaned from the pain that now shot up my spine.

Oriana leaned in close to my face. "Why'd you run?"
