The Old Party & The Due

While walking, the old knight approached the infamous Laughing Witch. He made a smile and said,

"Mey, now we've got the same appearance."

"You keep your promise to me, Kairos,", Mey said.

Kairos is famous around the country. After the infamous last fight with the ogre, their party disbanded. Kairos was the leader of the party.

"I've gathered a strong bunch; we need to hurry and strategize with Icarus,", Kairos said.

Then, looking at the child with the shining blue hair, he spontaneously said

"Will he be joining? He is your apprentice."

Everything went too fast, and the boy was confused.

"What just happened?" He thought to himself.

Firstly, he was confused by how the old knight seemed close to the witch. The witch has never been seen with anybody since she was called a lunatic; people won't approach this place.

Secondly, it doesn't make any sense for the witch to fight anymore. She isn't in her prime now; she is old; she can't fight in this state, was what the boy was thinking. But ignoring all the possibilities, sometimes it feels really odd how the witch's personality seems mature but still younger than it actually should be. She acts more like a mother than a grandma.

Thirdly, it's been a while since a big fight came. The monster attacks were definitely frequent, but since the last ogre fight, everything else was actually monster extermination.

"The young lilac will come with us, but not to fight. I have just met him for 3 or 4 days now. I am taking care of him,", Mey said.

"The seal condition gets worse each day. I don't know if it can be withheld any longer, and you adopted a  child."Kairos said while making a look that concerned.

"He was gifted by God, and no one found him. I can't ignore him, knowing that he was dying in some rural area." Mey said.

Kairos looked at the boy and said,

"He has the right to know what we're going to do. Boy, what's your name?"

Wedgewood ran to grab the stick that was used to explain things.

Mey replied to Wedgewood, "He is mute."

Kairos said, "Ah, I see".

Wedgewood comes back and writes his name on the ground using the stick: "Wage Wood.".

Kairos laughs hard enough, and Mey flicks her hand, makes a punch-shaped Lumine, and punches Kairos's gut after transforming it into wind.

"It's W E D G E W O O D, Wedgewood", Mey said.

The boy then corrected the letter on the ground.

"Ah, Wedgewood, young lilac, we will need to talk. 3 of us." Kairos said this while rubbing his gut.

"I'll deactivate the time warp spell on the barrier", Mey said.

There were barriers shaped like diamonds placed inside the trees at each point, covering 10 meters square, including the house. Then she walked inside and started chanting.

"By the power of the god of death, Thanatos, I hereby want to recollect my soul", Mey said.

All the barriers then shattered, and black puffy balls came out of them, making lines and being absorbed by Mey's body. After all the balls came in, suddenly her purple hair started to shine again, the wrinkle in her face had gone, and Wedgewood was aware that the appearance was the same as what Ms. Morty had said before about blooming lilacs.

"Let's finish what's overdue," she said.
