Getting Into Trouble

One Week Later...

Jason stood outside in the hot afternoon sun, earlier today the maid had left after eating breakfast, the one that he prepared and chucked everything he cooked into her mouth and excused himself.

The maid had no talents so he couldn't get any more points for copying a talent.

It had been one full week since he had gone to see Zane and he was getting ready to visit again.

Taking a quick look at the sun, Jason saw that it was seemingly shining at its brightest as it made him sweat profusely. His clothes sticking to his body.

'It's time.' Jason thought to himself. 'System, I would like to borrow 200 P.'

[Host has requested to borrow 200 P from the system]

Jason saw that his balance of points had gone up from 0 to 200, he immediately bought the invisibility potion.

The potion appeared in his hand, its cool aura doing little to block the sun's harmful, hot rays.

Jason spared the potion a look before opening the bottle and pouring the contents down his throat.

He was assaulted by that feeling again but he didn't stay on it for too long before he began sprinting.

He passed all the clan's checkpoint and once again saw the guards, some making themselves obvious while the others stayed in embarrassing positions trying to look cool but failing at it.

'I'm surprised that clan head doesn't know about this. Isn't he supposed to be the head, what good is the head if it does not even look at it's untidy body from time-to-time.'

Jason swiftly passed them, not one of them paid him a single look indicating that they weren't even aware of his presence, the invisibility potion masked any noises he made.

After some minutes of running he arrived at Zane's training grounds, the soft low cut grass seemingly hugging his feet.

'This boy, I told him I was coming back in a week.'

Jason slowed his pace down, he passed the several training dummies, each one of them more brutalized than the last.

After some minutes of walking he saw the person he was looking for, the heir of the Hachiman clan.

"What the hell is he doing in a sandbox?" Jason couldn't help but mutter to himself.

Zane was in a 30 meter sand pit, constantly hitting a training dummy that hadn't taken much damage.

"Quicksand?" Jason asked himself.

He put his feet inside and sure enough his feet began sinking inside, the feeling of the hot sand in his shoes a punishment as he removed his leg from the pit using brute strength and began fiddling with his shoe, trying to get it of his leg.

Finally removing the shoe from his foot Jason tossed it away, the sand in it falling onto the short grass.

"You're here." Zane said looking at nothing.

'He knows I'm here but doesn't know where I am.'

[0:00]

Jason's invisibility ran out, his body which seemed to be one in nature changed to a boy with light-brown skin, wearing a blue shirt and black pants.

His blue eyes seemingly piercing through air, coupled with his nubian nose made him look cute.

Zane's head darted in the other direction, his eyes subtly locking with Jason's as they had a stare-down.

"Your getting better at using your eyes." Zane complimented him as he got out of the sandbox.

"Yeah, my original eyes just got plucked out and someone painted them blue before putting them back."

"Are you here to practice or to complain."

"Both." Jason smirked.

"Okay." Zane walked over to a weapon stash. "Mr. Katana, now is your chance to prove you won't be a bum. You should know that I've improved quite a bit since we last saw.

Jason checked his status.

[Name: Zane Hachiman

Age: 11

Physical – Late Stage 1

Mental – Mid Stage 1

Mana – Late Stage 1

Skills: Null Eyes, Unwavering Will, Lightning Magic, Spirit steps.]

'Nothing has changed.'

Zane threw the katana over to him before carrying a sword for himself.

The weapons they used were ordinary weapons that didn't give any stat boost when equipped.

Jason felt the weapon he had been given, he always used a katana in his image training but in real life he felt awkward with the weapon, the same way he felt with the sword.

'It seems like I need to get basic mastery of the weapon before I can use it properly.' Jason thought.

He had thought that since he loved the katana so much it would be second nature when he used it, he spent hours image training everyday with the weapon called katana.

Not once had he deviated so he thought his image training would be much more fruitful, though it helped him sharpen his mind it wasn't as helpful as he thought it would be.

"Let's fight in the sand."

Jason nodded as he got into the sand box, Zane was already in it.

Zane got into his stance, Jason followed.

"Start."

Jason's feet was sinking, he found it hard to move without exerting too much force.

"What are you waiting for?" Zane asked as he got closer.

He brought down his sword, Jason moved his body but his feet were still stuck to the ground.

"Close." He muttered to himself.

Zane began a relentless attack, Jason was forced to dodge them all without moving from his initial position, the ones he couldn't dodge he would block with his katana, if he couldn't block he would parry.

The fight went on, Jason could occasionally strike but each time Zane blocked or counterattacked.

Soon, his entire lower body was stuck below ground level in the sand, he felt like he could no longer block.

[40%]

'I can't dodge or block again, I didn't want to break through it with brute strength because...' Jason thought as he came to a realization.

'Because... of nothing! For Christ's sake I've been doing nothing since just because of a reason that does not even exist! Damn it!!" Jason screamed in his heart.

The ground shattered as Jason began exerting his true strength, the strength of mid stage 2!

"How is this possible? It's quicksand, it's not supposed to break." Zane said in shock at the display of strength, by a ten year old no less.

"Boy let me tell you something..." Jason paused for dramatic effect. "The laws of reality do not apply to me, I can do anything I'm limitless."

With those words Jason's body flew upwards, he had used his full strength to throw himself upwards.

After flying ten meters into the sky he came down, the sand eagerly devouring his leg.

Without a warning Jason thrust his blade at Zane's direction, Zane quickly caught himself and blocked.

The tides had changed, Jason was now attacking wildly.

'He fights like a rookie with two much strength.' Zane thought as he remembered last week's fight.

Jason poured all his strength into the final attack, as he brutally hit the sword.

Zane had to let go, the sword in response fell onto the ground, the quicksand taking it.

"I win again." Jason said with a grin.

"If you had a fighting style I would win." Zane said as he got out of the sandbox.

Jason too moved out of the sand, he had a lot of things that he had to do.

[60%... Failure! Host has no affinity for magic...]

[Host can choose a talent to copy:Unwavering Will, Spirit Steps.]

'I choose spirit steps.' Jason thought.

Unlike last time the pain was almost negligible, proving that special skills needed a bit more oomph to get.

The skill spirit steps hadn't been explained in the novel but if Zane was a talent at it that meant that it was a good skill.

Jason sat down on the grass and Zane followed.

"Don't tell me you're going to tell me part 2 of that sob-story from last week." Zane said as he sat down.

"Nope. This time I'm going to tell you a more interesting story." Jason said as he began narrating a webnovel from his past life.

"The story wasn't half-bad, I could get used to this." Zane said with a smile as he laid down.

"In truth I find the one I told you last week more interesting." Jason retorted.

"You must have seen it when you were bored." Zane commented.

'Brat.'

But Jason too smiled, he found the moments when he talked to Zane more refreshing than his boring life in the clan.

The sun was setting and Jason thought it was time to go home but he was just waiting for a little bit longer.

"Zane Hachiman." A female voice roared.

Jason didn't know who that voice belonged to but he also knew that not many people were allowed to call Zane by his full name, whoever it was should be very powerful.

But at hearing the voice he could only think of two words.

"I'm cooked."
