"We need to have a long talk! It's about time I tell you the things you have been asking for a long time."
Seeing the serious look on seraphina's face, Keiran was puzzled for a second before his mind ran at fast speed. He thought about all the things he had asked her before it clicked his mind.
He remembered the time when he and Luna asked her to share her past with them.
Although he felt that they were a little insensitive while asking about her past like that, he was still curious.
His attention turned towards the boy silently standing behind Seraphina. From his looks one could easily tell that there was some blood connection between the two of them.
The boy was none other than the second prince of the Solunar Kingdom, Aiden Solunar.
"Hello brother."
His Ruby eyes started at Keiran with a slight hint of respect. Seeing Keiranook in his direction, he greeted him politely to which he got a polite nod back.
"Please enter the room first." Keiran gave them way and asked both to enter the room.
Seraphina smiled a little and entered the room with her son following behind her. Upon entering, Seraphina gave Keiran a deep hug.
Even though she had been talking to them on video calls, it had been a long time since she had seen their face up close.
Luna also came forward and hugged the woman. A small smile tugged at their face enjoying the warmth of this little family reunion.
Aiden wanted to join in on the hug but he felt a little embarrassed hugging them like a little kid while Keiran and Luna did not think much about it.
In their eyes it was only natural for them to show the love they had for their family with such little actions.
Seraphina broke the hug and there were small tears at the corner of her eyes which she wiped. Her thoughts wandered around the danger they have been facing till now and will be facing in the future.
Seraphina's eyes scanned the room, she instinctively looked at the state of the room they had kept in.
"Well at least you have kept your room in better shape than this idiot brother of yours."
Seraphina's sudden remark caught the twins off guard. They looked at Aiden who was blushing in embarrassment as his mother exposed all of her secrets.
"His room is like a mess, the pigs live in that room. Even though the servants take care of the room, there should be at least a sense of decency of how he should keep the room."
She continued berating him as she took a seat. The twins started to sweat drop hearing her bantering about their brother.
They were happy that they had a habit of keeping the room clean. It just gave them a calming sense if the room was clean.
"Mother, stop embarrassing me!!" Aiden could not take it anymore and yelled with a flushed face.
He did not want to be embarrassed in front of others, especially his dear brother.
"Hmph! Next time better do what I tell you to do." Seraphina snorted and turned to look at Keiran before continuing.
"What I want to tell you is about the past of our lives. How we met and how everything started."
Keiran nodded solemnly hearing her words, Luna also came closer and sat beside Keiran turning all of her attention towards Seraphina.
"It all started with your father, Arion. He was born in areas like we have in the pig pan.
It was pure Slum.."
Seraphina continued to immerse herself in their story of the past.
Her words portrayed a picture of the life Arion had with his parents.
"As Arion grew up, his parents would make him do all the work.
His father would make him collect food for them through any means. His mother would just ignore him and go away to meet her 'friends'.
Among which more than half of them were male. Since they were poor there was naturally a shortage of money for them.
During those times only valuable things could be bartered for food and daily use products.
Arion's would always bring a small some of this so-called money from her trip and his father did not mind as long as they had the money.
To him there was nothing more important to him than his own survival."
Seraphina paused to look at the faces of the children in front of her. If possible she did not want to tell them this story but the more you run away from your past the more it haunts you back.
She was not afraid of the past but she was afraid how her lovely children would look at her after hearing it.
She saw that there was a serious look on Keiran's face which was similar to that of Luna's. Aiden on the other hand had a curious look on his face.
Maybe he was curious about what Arion's mother did when she left with her friends.
Shaking her head, Seraphina continued her story.
"The days continued the same for Arion until that day arrived. the day that changed of their lives. The day Arion started his journey...."
She took a deep breath and added,
"The day Arion turned 10!"
Keiran could hear the heaviness in her tone. He had a feeling that whatever was about to happen would not be pretty.
Luna held Keiran's hand as she waited in anticipation for Seraphina's next words.
