"Ariel, get back here!!!" A male voice resonated through the dense green woods. It sounded frustrated and tired.

Against the wind a small frame dashed furiously past trees, jumped over tree trunks. 'Hufff, huffff, huffff. I need to grow taller, these short legs are of great disadvantage! They can't even help me escape!' A small girl grumbled as she hastened her steps. Her blackish purple waist length hairs dangled with the wind falling in her face whenever she turned back to see the man that was after her. 'Lord he's catching up!!' andrenaline gushed through her blood vessels and her speed drastically increased. 'If I can't even escape from this training then how am I going to over come the hardships in the future!'

However, her attempts became futile when she was lifted off the ground causing her to squeal. On seeing who had lifted her up, it was the most handsome and loving man on earth. "Papa!!!", she squealed with joy and giggled. The man who had jet black hair laughed along with her.

"Princess, you tried to run?", he asked as he held her by his chest area, her tiny arms wrapped around his neck and she pouted, expressing her grievances. He was dressed in a white long sleeved shirt and grey loose pants.

"Papa!!!, Edmond refused to let me go even after I finished the training session. It's not fair!!!"

"Ariel... Huff hufff, Ari.....el." The man named Edmond gruffed and panted heavily as his hands supported his weight on his knees. He had come to a stop sweat dripping off his handsome sunkissed skin when he saw that Ariel was now with her father telling on him.

After gathering himself, "Captain!!" he greeted with a slight bow and a fisted hand across his chest.

"It's okay, I'll take it on from here." He said dismissing Edmond who turned and headed back where he came from

"Did you just return from the court Papa?" her big innocent eyes looked at him inquiring. He looked so casual!

"Mmm, I saw the king and rushed back to see my Princess. How have you been?"

"I've been good Papa, I ate alot, slept on time, didn't give mama and nanny a hard time. I even managed to have a breakthrough!" Her last deceleration was said with a raised chin and proud expression.

This news was a great shock that he momentarily froze and looked down at the little girl in his arms he was overwhelmed with joy and pride. His eyes shone with admiration because for someone to manage having a breakthrough was no easy fit and now his six year old daughter had actually had a breakthrough!! He was very proud of his daughter. He had his breakthrough when he was eleven, he stood out among his peers during that time for being formidable but his daughter at six years....he was at a loss of words.

Looking at her father's overwhelmed expression, she complained grumpily, "Won't I get a gift for being hardworking?" She inquired her purple irises big and innocent stared at him, her cute pinks lips pouted and he felt his soul drown in a sea of honey.

At a loss of words at her cuteness, he let out a laugh, "Hahahah, how can I not reward such an outstanding daughter. We will have a feast to celebrate and any request from you will be granted." he promised. This caused the little one to laugh heartily and peck her dad on his cheek. "Dad is the best in the whole universe!!", she declared to the whole world boosting and her small voice resonated in the woods.

The duo proceeded to leave the wood and stroll back home. Along the way.

"Papa, will you be staying for a while?" Ariel asked as she watched her father's face. It had been long since she saw him and now, he had hair on his chin and his eyes looked tired.

"My princess is concerned about Papa!" He asked.

"Isn't that obvious?" she asked back.

"Hahaha, don't worry my princess, this old man is going to stay longer this time." He assured her.

"The king won't send you away again?" She gave him a skeptical glance from her peripheral view, she had to make sure because she had a very long to do list with her Papa.

"Hahaha, did your mom teach you to look at me like that to intimidate me?!" He asked with a wary look.

"No, I learnt it. I noticed your well behaved when mom glares at you!" she said concealing her giggle but her eyes were full of playfulness.

This made the man laugh heartily.and pinch her chubby cheeks, his daughter was indeed spring. She actually learnt in order to have him behave!! "I'll behave your highness!" He gave a small bow.

Reaching home, they were welcomed by a chilling glare from the lady of the house. Her eyes scanned between the father and daughter. Immediately, the man placed his daughter down and rushed to his wife. He pecked her on both cheeks and gave a small kiss on her lips. He withdrew when he didn't receive any response and grinned foolishly, "Am back wife!"

Looking at her husband who looked fatigued, she put aside her complaints and dragged him inside. Ariel followed behind observing her parents interactions. When they arrived on the this sitting room, she spoke because she had been mercilessly forgotten. "I'll be in my room and Papa, welcome home!" she smiled at them.

The couple proceeded to their room. "Edmond told me your back and I prepared beforehand, go and clean up, rest while I massage you."

"Yes wife." He was so obedient.
