The Creston Empire

*This is simply an explanation about the Empire where the story is set. If you want to skip to the next chapter, you will not miss any information in the actual storyline.*

The Creston Empire has been old nation founded by a woman who is simply known as the Goddess. Legend has it that the Goddess hailed from a land of inequality, slavery and basis injustice. Followed by her seven knight and those who believed in her, she created the nation and disappeared. Her seven knight waited for many years for their Goddess to return, but she never did.

In order to keep her memory alive and to remind all their citizens and descendants, the seven families took over as rulers of the empire. Lord Edward Creston became the first Emperor (as history tells he was the younger brother of their Goddess, however no-one knows for sure), the other six families became the most noble and trusted families in the empire, each having their own area of expertise.

Peter Rosewood took the position of trade's expert, trades both within the empire and outside, as well as overseeing the blacksmiths. Sarah Lightheart was a powerful mage who took on the position of training new mages and making sure they understood how to use their magic safely, sensible and how to be helpful with it. Marcus Rubeus was incharge of the farming within the empire, he worked closely with Peter to ensure they had enough food to both provide to their citizen and to fulfill the contracts they had with other nations. Arthur Beaumont the military expert, not only did he personally train all their soldiers, he took care of military strategies, negotiations and help Peter take care of the blacksmiths. Rebecca Donovan took care of the justice system, will she worked closely with Edward to create fair and just laws, she also worked with Arthur to ensure that no soldiers never took bribes or treated citizens unfairly. Last but not least was Lillian Charmers who was in charge of communications, between the other six factions as well as between the other nations, Lillian help develop the mailing system and worked closely with all the other family head to ensure everyone knew about everything.

As result of having an equal and fair nation, it became a tradition that if you married the head of the family you took their last name, it did not matter on your gender, will generally if you didn't the woman would take the man's surname, however this was not a must nor was it frowned upon if the man took the woman's surname. Head of the family was generally past down to the eldest child not the first born son, of course this was simply a tradition and differed within each family.

Slavery was abolished and everyone worked for a fair wage, this put an end to severe poverty and allowed the economy to flourish and also brought many poorer families into the Creston Empire to avoid getting sold as slaves.

Both crimes and lawful acts were judges based on the actions and evidence, rather than on status and money. Anyone who was found guilty of trying to bribe or accepted a bribe were automatically banished.

For centuries these laws and systems kept the Creston Empire flourishing, however over time there were a few people who just out unjust the outside nations were and took their modernised empire for granted.
