Tainted Blood and Witchcraft

"You think I'm obsessed of power?" He took one step forward towards me, my whole system stiffened. My heart drum inside my chest and my breath hitch with excitement and fear. "Seems like it," "There are two things I'm obsessed of," He held me tightly as he wrapped his rough hand around my wrist. I tried to wiggle free against his strong hold. "I... I don't care," my voice came out ghastly. "One," the thickness of his voice laced through my skin. "You are my obsession," "Two..." He slurs. "Pinning you in my bed, chained, and screaming my name from unbearable pleasure until you past out." And his eyes have become so dark, they would be able to swallow me whole. "You're a nutcase," my lips quivered as his fingers trailed against the small part of my neck. "You, in my bed, legs spread wide open...chained and screaming my name until you beg me to stop." His adams apple bobs in his throat as his hand tucks a strand of hair behind my ear. "You like that about me, my unhinged mind and how I f*ck you rough my love, let me remind you of that." My breath deepened and I fought the need to kiss him or lick my lips as an invitation. ************** Shiloh battles against her complicated life everyday. Vampire's Semen

I inhaled slowly and evenly. I'm a few meters away from the stage where the execution happened. A tall primitive spear stands in the center, the man's head is right off hammered in the middle. Tension built in my muscles. I've never witnessed events like this but its popularity grew when pirates evaded the city, inhumane however tons in the population wanted it done.

I swallowed my breath, tossing the thick braid over my shoulder.

"He could have been saved if only he begged the Wizards for forgiveness, Lilia." The older woman in front murmured. Her younger companion groaned and eyed her as a warning look.

I scoffed, the Wizards she was talking about killed a family without any remorse, and if the man has begged for his life, everyone knows he doesn't stand a chance against them.

The woman turned her back to face me, I bit my inside cheek not to show any emotions. She raised her brow and spat on my not polished right shoe. I bit my inside cheek hard again, anger flushed in my insides. Not to cause her anger I only bowed and leveled my eyes on the ground.

"The Fates won't have done it otherwise milady," she answered back

She looked at her companion, "Your right Lilia, the Fates only supports the law and the Four Wizards. Low class peasants like him don't need a chance." The old woman said flatly.

They turned towards me once again.

"You should get a new pair of boots, girly. Yours seems like a hand me down from your ancestors." Lilia laughed softly and smiled at me. She ushered the old woman away.

I wiped the old woman's stinky saliva with my old ragged skirt from my brown boots.

Gods know how the people that are more privileged are the most evil of all. Shaking my head, I passed the bloody stage. Several witches are cleaning the dirty wooden planks of the stage. The blood almost coated the whole floor in front.

I made my way back to the long narrow alleyway connected to the back door of the library. When I reached the black door I ushered my way in, the long squeak of the door filled the silence. I found myself walking to the librarian's desk, must be my old habit acting up.

"Vienel," I murmured quietly.

She turned towards me, her eyes bulged and screamed quietly and clapped her hands in excitement. She always does this and it warms my heart everytime. The creases at the corners of her eyes were far more noticeable now.

"Good to see you Shiloh!" She hugged me so tightly that I almost choked. I laughed, returning her tight hug into a gentle one, I patted her back softly.

"It's only been two weeks Vienel,"

"It's been forever you mean?"

My nose crinkled, "I've been busy with work and anyways here's the list." I handed her the list from my pocket.

She rolled her pretty blue eyes. "If I'll meet him one day, I'll gladly smack his head upside down so he'll learn to not be a total baby and rely everything on you. Heavens, you must be so tired from all the work and yapping from your mother. Plus your douchebag brother."

"It's totally okay, we're a family, remember? Family helps each other. And in three months I should have already completed my savings so I can also attend the academia." I replied quietly.

"How about your father?"

My eyes wandered through the thick large shelves in front of us. "I'm still finding the cure but according to the family's affected by the rot, the members who got severe skin infections were already dead."

"Then your dad is the luckiest among them. Did the rot reach his thighs?"

"No, just below his knees."

"Perfect, I have found a note in the old testament book and skin rots were mentioned, including its cure."

She clapped her hands and punched the air. Well, she's kinda weird sometimes, including the time when she had a bet with the professional potion makers. She believed that their potions are faulty that caused chaos and panic in the hub, considering that it is well known of the lands that they make the most perfect combinations of potions and hex.

She bet to drink their aging potion to let the people know that it doesn't work. Funny how she got the idea from pinching a teaspoon of aging potion for her father who's having a second family with an eighteen years old girl. Vienel still doesn't know why the aging potion didn't work with him. And now this girl is already experiencing forgetfulness and joint aches.

Vienel hurriedly made her way through the unending stacks of books. A few minutes later she returned holding a pile of books with the help of her two arms. I quickly ran to her and took the books Luke wanted me to fetch. I placed the pile on top of the desk to check and label the books according to its sequence.

"Here," she handed me an old brown note, the smell quickly made its way to my nose. It smells awful and almost retaliates the smell of rotten tomatoes.

I opened the note, "The Cure?" I asked.

"It's the cure, obviously it was hidden for centuries in that godforsaken book. No one dares to open the book for years. Apart from it looking old and quite haunting, it also smells awful."

My lips parted, "How did you find this?"

"Well, I was bored yesterday and I scared some noisy students from the back. So I threw the book at them," she laughed heartily. "Then boom they ran for their lives, they're afraid of their aunt librarian and that's how I found the note. It flew out of the note into my hand."

I scanned the whole procedure. Some plain ingredients such as, green pixie wings, gilded bones and–

My eyes stop to the last ingredient.

"Vampire's semen!?" I exclaimed.

"It's hard to find a semen especially from a vampire so I have another choice for you,"

I looked at her suspiciously.

"At the end of the month I'll lead you to Shadowlands portal, I'll ask the Arcae to show you the divining answers,"

"Seriously? That is far more impossible. No one can survive the Shadowlands portal." Disbelief rang in my tone.

"Vienel, it's your working hours. Please not chit chats." The library owner commanded. I met his most unwanted smile, I smiled also in return.

"Sorry boss, anyways I'll meet you tomorrow okay? We'll find a way to save your dad."

I nodded and hugged her again. They could have said that 'blood runs thicker than water' because the only one who's supporting me right now is not my family. My mom and Luke don't care about dad's cure, as if he's already won't have a chance to live another year.

When I reached the alleyway, my gut kept telling me that something was wrong. I can feel someone is following me.

A cool hand closed over my neck as I twisted, I kicked the man strictly pointing at his stomach.

A shock of heat licks my skin as his soulless gaze attempts to penetrate my insides, to try to weaken me. Slate-green embers, his eyes are a thing of beauty, like being lured into quicksand.

The intense light faded from his eyes "Wow that kinda hurts."

Gods, he scared me.

I fixed my stance as he helped me. I can now feel my sweaty palms run down my shirt to wipe the excess slippery feeling.

"I didn't mean to, you literally sneak up on me." I rolled my eyes.

He let out a raspy, rough laugh as his cold fingers swipe the fallen leaf against my neck. Stunned, all I could do was stand there for several moments.

Pretty sure he can cause havoc and a bloody war. A war against my sanity and dignity. I can't…handle him, he is too much.

A sly grin curls his full lips.

"I can tell…you like to watch?"

My brows furrowed, "Watch you behead an innocent guy because he's just telling the truth about those Dark Wizards?"

And the tag even said 'treason'. They could have just thrown him inside the jail of curses rather than killing him. He has a family, dreams, motivations and goals in life.

This vampire's deception is cruel. He may be kind and courageous to save my dumb ass last night but I'm no supporter of the Dark Wizards.

He is a murderer. I would commend myself for remembering that part.

And from the looks of it, he enjoyed beheading the man as if it's part of his habits.

"That's what I came for, to tell you that killing you is not in my bucket list if you'll continue to prey against them."

"And if I won't stop fighting for what is right…are you going to k-kill me?"

His jaw clenched as he gritted his teeth.

"No,"

I bit my lower lip, what a relief? But I think if he'll refuse to behead me someone will.

"How can I fuck you if you're dead?" He said in a very husky voice that's almost a groan. An unknown sparks of emotions swirled wildly in his eyes.

My heart stuttered and then sped up.

Good heavens, he's a real nutcase. How could he even think that way after just kissing me once?

My lips parted on a harsh exhale. "W-what?"

"Shut up and continue your trail, someone is following you."
