Sky Heaven’s departure

Angel, Aliyah, and Lex took their bowl and scoop from Gerard's bowl while Sally borrow one bowl from them.

After tasting the food, their expectant eyes turn to disgust.

Gerard cannot help but chuckle. Are they dreaming? They are cursed and cannot be lifted unless some player were able to do the deed that must be done as per Dina. And to what kind of deed is that? No one knows.

Even Gerard didn't know about it. It seems the developer team changes many things from the original plan.

Whatever he just needs to do what he can do.

Gerard was about to scoop and eat his food when Mel suddenly barged out from the kitchen while wiping his hands with the towel.

"Is it true? Are you willing to help me? Do you even know how to cook?"

Gerard stopped for a moment and the other player beside him stop as well.

He seems not to be excited, right?

Gerard didn't hesitate and say the truth.

" I can cook, well enough for people like me."

Mel snorted and respond "Well, let's see if you can pass my standard. Once you finish eating, come to the kitchen."

Mel then turns around and leaves them.

It is now Dina's turn to talk and thank Gerard and he just nodded his head.

It seems that I'll be busy.

In truth, Gerard is not afraid of not passing the minimum standard. Why? He has the Supreme System Menu Interface! What is he afraid of?

For example, he only knew a little about blacksmiths but he was able to pull it off and exceed Kurosawa's expectations of him. And now that the Supreme System Menu Interface opens the Mastery Tab for him, he can increase the tier of his blacksmith job with just Mastery Points. And he is confident it is the same with the Chef subclass, as long as the Supreme System registers the subclass on his Mastery Tab.

Besides, he can actually cook. And that's true.

Gerard continues eating his food. While doing so, he overheard the conversation of the four players he was acquainted with.

"Sally, what were you doing being friendly with Mr. Payne?"

Sally smiles and responded back "Can't I make friends with Mr. Payne?"

"It's not that you can't but you need to be careful. Offending him is not an option!" Aliyah retorted back

"Don't you think I didn't know that? Like you, I am careful in dealing with him, after all, it's not only you guys who were able to get a quest from him."

Sally smugly told them.

Aliyah and the rest were shocked.

So that is why. But why does she keep acting friendly toward him? Didn't she know that if she offended him once, there was a high possibility that the quest issued to her will be retracted or deemed void?

But before Angel or Aliyah asked her that, Lex interjected "Be careful, if you ever offended him once, you will not be able to get a quest from him anymore."

"I know, don't worry. I know what I am doing."

Aliyah snorted and asks "Why are you still here? Don't you have a quest to finish?"

"Ah, regarding that. Well, it's my business so I suggest you don't have to trouble yourself with it."

Gerard can feel the tension between these two beautiful women. But if they would join a beauty contest, Sally will win.

He was kind of happy he was able to meet this player he can issue a quest with. For him, they are his pocket money. No, acquaintances help each other. A win-win situation. They can receive experience and other rewards, and it is the most important to them as mine is to me.

The four players continue to bicker at each other while Gerard is peacefully eating.

There were a lot of things he needed to do. The first is to increase his Blacksmith's Tier. Second, he needed to help Mel with tomorrow's errand. And through that, if there's nothing goes sideways, he can have a chance to learn the Chef subclass. And lastly, if he can push his way through to partake in the quest regarding the missing amulet.

Gerard is confident he can get a quest if he is able to converse with that noble. After all, he was able to get one just by talking with Kurosawa about the way of the Blacksmith job.

After a while, Gerard was able to finish his food.

Sally, on the other hand, bid him farewell with a full smile, provoking Aliyah to her core.

Not long after, Mel invites him inside the Kitchen along with Dina.

"Since you already entered the kitchen earlier, I won't give you any pointers in my kitchen but if you need something or you don't find things you needed, just approach and ask my daughter."

Gerard nodded his head.

"Now, show me what you got. Cook anything you like to cook. I'll be on the sideline and watch how you perform. If you are able to pass my minimum standard, you can help me tomorrow and if you exceed my expectation, then, I can hire you in my restaurant as a cook."

Gerard felt elated hearing Mel's statement!

And without further ado, the notification he is looking forward to sending him a notification.

Reading all the notifications, Gerard grinned which didn't escape Mel's sharp eyes. The latter snorted thinking that Gerard is getting ahead of himself.

Oblivious to him, Gerard grinned because of the quest and the monetary and item rewards!

Just like he thought, there's still no soy sauce around! If he can successfully reach a certain tier being a Chef, with enough money and reputation, he can establish his own restaurant! And using soy sauce, his restaurant's success will be unstoppable.

Meanwhile, in Amethyst City.

Lina and everyone in the Sky Heaven are done preparing to leave the City.

"Everybody, make sure you didn't forget anything. Did you buy all the things you needed to buy?"

"Yes, Guild Leader. All the things we needed are already kept in our inventory."

"Good, I do not want to learn that we forgot something, because if we do, we won't be able to get back for the time being."

After commanding all the members to check again, Lina leads Sky Heaven toward the main gate of Amethyst City.

Just like she thought, their departure will cause a commotion.

As they make their way to leave the city, the nearby players start to gossip.

"Hey! Is that the Sky Heaven core group? Why are they leaving the city?"

"Don't you know? There's a rumor that their Guild Leader was defeated in a 1 versus 1 battle, and whoever loses will leave the city."

"Oh? I thought Sky Heaven is powerful, but that's just a hoax."

Then another player joins the gossip "Huh? What do you know? If I am not mistaken, they were on a mission."

"What kind of mission?" It piques the interest of the two players and the nearby players as well.

"Their mission is to exterminate all the low-level monsters and keep grinding!"

Hearing all these rumors, Lina grinned inwardly. That's right, continue your way of thinking. We don't care if you gossip about us, as long as you guys don't know the real reason.

But when one of the players posted about Sky Heaven's departure in Amethyst City, it become instantly trending.

"Hahaha! It seems the Sky Heaven core group was afraid of our core group. It is only a matter of time before a guild can be established. So instead of fighting us for guild residence, they instead run."

"You are dumb. What core group are you belong to? Don't you know, they have a big mission. That is to kill low-level monsters first and then grind until they reach the top hundreds of highest-level players in the Kingdom."

"All of that is nothing but rumors, the truth behind their departure is still a mystery. Didn't you notice, when Sally, their Goddess leave the City, they also followed?"
