This mission is the same as the quest but the condition is stricter. Unlike the quest that once triggered, no matter how low and high level a player is, it will still commence.
And it is also the reason why these players envied those players caught in the middle of chaos and participated to calm the NPCs and heal the wounded.
They are certain these players will trigger the quest instantly once the chaos subsided and who knows, they might be given a list of quests to choose from and giving them free rein to choose what they desire.
There is a total of 9 players inside the vicinity of Town Hall. If only there is no perimeter around the Town Hall and few knights guarding it, the players might storm the Town Hall in this instant to participate in the major event.
The players are held off in check from the entrance even though they can easily storm inside since the number of knights guarding the perimeter is only a drop of sand compared to the staggering number of players. But what made them forbid it from doing so is the repercussion of their action. They will be banned for days in West Town.
And being banned from your hometown can drastically impact a player and be left behind in terms of level and coins.
It is because there are necessities available inside the Town to whereas not available in the wilderness. Such healing potions and mana recovery potions. These necessities can provide an advantage to players when grindings.
But a player who has no access to such necessities will be at disadvantage, rendering a player to halt the grinding just to recover HP and MP.
That is why they hold their arse off and be content watching from afar and waiting for the chaos to subside.
They can only lament their luck and envy the players participating in the chaos.
"Sigh. Why did I try to apply for the Count's mission? Though there is no guarantee I will be chosen."
"It's okay lad, the game is just in the beginning phase. There is more opportunity that will come." Although the player made a positive comment, he too wishes that he is lucky same as those 9 players.
"There's nothing we can do. We just need to wait until the fight ceased."
"But how did the fight start? Is the Count okay?"
"I don't know but I hope he is because I might be chosen to participate in the mission hehe."
"You brag!"
"How about the Town Chief?"
"Why are you keep asking the obvious? We do not know too! You see that we too like you are standing and just a bystander and waiting for the battle to cease!"
"Hey! Look! The players surrounded that NPC!"
"Hmm. His look is not bad and his build is not bad either. How old do you think he is?" One of the female player with a quiver on her waist and a bow on her back ask her friend beside her.
"I think he just about, hmm…turning 22?"
"Dream on! That man is no longer young, I can clearly see that he is already in his late 20s!"
"How can you be so sure?"
One of the girls smirks and gives her response. "It is because I can tell. There's no need for me to disclose how."
"Hmph!"
"Hey, ladies. If you are looking for a young, handsome, and full of vigor. Just call me."
The ladies quickly snorted and move away from him.
Many players were still on the lookout when suddenly they saw the 9 players surrounding the NPC bow their heads as they greeted them.
Then there are two beautiful young ladies approach him. After a couple of minutes, the NPC turns around and looks up at the sky, and feels nostalgic.
The NPC might not exude an aura of a master or an elite, but they assume the NPC being respected this way by players is influential at least.
But this is the first time they saw this NPC.
Is he some kind of elite and just decided to show himself during the chaos? There's a possibility since lots of elites have this kind of temperament.
How envious!
Every time the NPC ended his remarks, the faces of 9 players softened, and their eyes show reverence toward the former.
The players outside the perimeter can only grit their teeth in envy. The NPC sure parting some knowledge. Important knowledge in this game!
The only thing they can do is remember the name of the players and try to coax them if necessary.
But when they navigate their Interface Menu, the supposedly basic information appearing above the player's head didn't show and they received an error.
Their Interface Menu prompted the error.
[Error: Due to the targeted players being within perimeter restriction, their basic information cannot be shown as of the moment. Advising the player to try later when the players are outside the perimeter restriction]
In an instant, an uproar occurred within the audience outside the perimeter!
"What is this!"
"This was not mentioned in the game installment!"
"This is definitely a bug!"
"Hey, what bug? Didn't you know that the Supreme System can be compared to Superior Machine? It was proven by the government around the world. It seems this type of cliché is added for the players to enjoy the game."
"What do you mean enjoy? Are you going to enjoy it when someone is being treated more nicely than you?"
"If you are a crybaby like that, do not play this game. This game is built not only for the thrill, you people are idiots!"
"But I play games to lessen the stress in real life!"
"Then play another game, countless rich businessmen, businesswomen, corporations, and even the government invested a lot in this game. And it will only increase more when the currency exchange system takes effect!"
"He's right you know. I heard that you could become a millionaire in a single night if you struck gold in this game."
"Is that so? Then, why the information of those players are blocked if within the perimeter restriction?"
"Brat, are you listening? That is to protect them from greedy and hoodlum players."
"I see."
The conversation within the masses continues, while the NPCs can only shrug their shoulders as they cannot seem to understand what the heroes are talking about.
The chaos continues for an hour but the explosions are becoming less and less, indicating one of the other parties is winning and anytime the battle will subside.
Although the players and NPCs are standing and watching the chaos for an hour now, they didn't leave their place.
The NPCs are afraid of the future outcome of this chaos while the Players are excited because once it subsided, a one-on-a-thousand opportunity will commence! It is to trigger the quest.
The quest regarding finding the grand architect of this chaos consists of multiple quests that can lead to a chain quest. In summary, a lot of basic quests will be triggered and a few of the hard quests will be triggered as well.
As the masses anticipate the outcome, a band of players from Amethyst City arrived in the West Town. They diligently fall in line and waited for their turn to enter the Main Gate of the Town.
Meanwhile, inside the Town Hall where the two causes of this chaos fight in earnest at the beginning which leads to a standstill. But if an Elite is present and watching the battle unfold, the said Elite can easily grasp who is in the lead to this one-sided battle.
And right now, the one-sided battle is slowly being realized by the presence on the battlefield where lots of debris, small craters due to explosions, and dead bodies are around.
A muscular old man that usually has a small body build is full of wounds everywhere. One of his eyes is gorge out, blood leaking from it while gasping for air.
Beside him is Axel, his most trusted knight is having the same situation and is more severe than him as Axel's left arm is ripped off. His face is becoming paler due to blood loss.
While in front of them, the Count only suffered a mild injury and only have tattered clothes, and his Captain Knight is severely injured but did not lose any limbs in the fight.
After a bloody battle, the two parties pause for a while, and Count Alvis starts asking the question. "Now, Rook. Tell me, where did you get that potion? You do know it is forbidden to use it right?"
Rook laughed haggardly. "Of course, a repercussion of drinking this potion." He then took another vial of potion that contain a bloody red fluid content and drink it in front of them.
"Ahhh! The taste is bitter but the effect is superb." Rook continued then he wipe his mouth after drinking the bloody red fluid potion.
Count Alvis can only sigh in the scene, he can take the vial from him but he let Rook drink it as he is curious as well about the outcome of drinking that potion for the second time.
"Rook, drinking Mandrake Potion is forbidden. And you drank it twice now. You are beyond saving. You must be killed right now!"
The Captain shouted and raise his sword as he move forward to slice off Rook's head.
But as he was about two meters away, Rook's face contorted to a certain degree. Blood gushed out from his gorged eye and vomited a lot of blood.
Then he drops to the ground as his body starts to convulse and have a seizure. But it stops after 10 seconds.
While his body seems lifeless, Rook's feet start to move. Like a puppet, his body is being lifted and become suspended enough for his feet to stand on the ground.
At that moment, Rook's heart started to beat which reverberated that produces wave after wave in every beat.
Suddenly its left arm move and reached Axel's remaining right arm and pull it close to him.
Due to shock, Axel wasn't able to stop the pulling force of Rook.
As Axel's body becomes close to his, Rook's upper body that was suspended in the air suddenly erected up straight and rip off Axel's right arm.
A horrid crunch and limbs being ripped off were heads as Axel screams in agony and pain as he watches a horrendous sight in front of him and forgets that he is quickly losing blood.
Rook starts eating the ripped arm of Axel.
Axel can only slowly back away while blood continues to gush out. "Town Chief…w-what's wrong with y-you…"
Rook like a rabid wild monster didn't hear anything and continued to much on the flesh in front of him. Rook was able to eat the arm in just five seconds and seems like wanting more.
His bloodshot eyes darter everywhere and it caught first the pitiful Axel and pounce on the latter.
Axel can only shout and defenselessly were eaten alive.
Count Alvis and his Captain were shocked to their core which made them rendered useless and forgot to attack Rook.
After munching with great vigor, Rook finishes eating Axel, and only blood and metals, clothes, and a sword remain.
In that instant, his bloodshot eyes glow red and his body enlarges enough to reach his head to the ceiling.
He then howled an unrecognizable sound that reaches even the masses outside the Town Hall!
Rook's old body turns into an unrecognizable monster.
His head enlarged as his mouth protruded and his two teeth grew to become a fang. His nails become long and sharp. Veins are bulging everywhere in his body.
This horrendous monster now eyeing the two people in front of him and started salivating.
For the first time in a while. Count Alvis Arman loses composure for a couple of seconds before gritting his teeth and tightly clenching his fists.
"Rook! You really fell into the pit of hell! I will promise to find the culprit of brainwashing you!"
Count Alvis shouted and an overwhelming aura start linking from his body.
"Captain, back off. Rook…No. This monster's power rises five-fold, you'll die if you interfere."
"But…"
The Captain wanted to retort but Count Alvis is not having it.
"There are no buts. This is an order. Quick!" Count Alvis replied without batting his eyes not even once at this monster.
Seeing Count Alvis become severely serious. He can feel the pressure start overwhelming his injured body due to the aura leaking from the Count's body. But he can sense the monster is not even concerned.
He bows his head and leaves immediately.
On the other hand, Count Alvis gripped his sword tightly.
He walks steadily toward the monster like he is just walking in the bustling street with the absence of dangers. But his face is serious.
Seeing Count Alvis walking towards him, what becomes of Rook's body pounces on the Count and uses his long arm to grip the Count's head.
But his arm was cleanly cut off before his hand reach the Count.
