System: Supreme NPC

A previous Senior Developer’s consciousness accidentally enters the virtual game he helps developing after he was forced to retire due to health issues. Unfortunately, he can only choose the job available to him. SNPC or Special Non-Player Character. In a world filled with terror, different creatures roaming the world, and different types of players with powerful backgrounds, as NPC, will he compete with them or blend in completely with actual NPCs? --- I created a discord channel so we can freely exchange thoughts and pointers about anything regarding the book. Heroes Help

The monster shouted in agony as his arm was cut off.

But Count Alvis didn't stop. He swings his sword and cut the other arm of the monster.

Blood gushed out everywhere from the monster's two arms.

Count Alvis took a deep breath and grip his sword with two hands. Suddenly, his leaking aura is being sucked by his swords.

The monster woke from his pain and screamed and his face expressed great anger due to pain and was ready to bite Count Alvis.

But Count Alvis finished his preparations and put his swords upward "[Skill: Bloody Divide!]" and slice the monster that is just a foot away from him.

The monster stop on his track and was cut into two.

The seem endless blood spurted out everywhere and the sliced body of the monster fell down.

Count Alvis swings his sword to the side making the weapon cleared out of the blood.

The [Skill: Bloody Divide] can be gained by reaching Level 50. This skill is the simplest skill and longest cast time. It pierces through any armor worn by level 30 below. It also needs preparations by feeding the sword a massive amount of MP until it reached the needed MP to cast the skill.

That is the reason why Count Alvis quickly exudes an aura or MP as the heroes called it when he saw the monster's power rise to five folds. He needed to use his strongest skill to defeat the monster.

Count Alvis Arman is currently a Tier 3: Level 55 and cannot break through anymore. He already reaches the limit of his power, hence his strongest attack is [Skill: Bloody Divide]. If he can grow stronger, he might be able to gain the strongest skill there is in the Edo Kingdom. The [Skill: Soul River].

Unfortunately for him, his level is stagnant, and cannot get anymore higher. Resulting to dedicate his remaining life to finding the secret land that was supposed to be given to the previous hero that help the Edo Kingdom.

And to get there, he needs to find first the missing Amulet.

Count Alvis's vision blurred for a moment and before leaving the place, he made sure that the monster is actually dead.

Then he turn around to head outside when suddenly his eyes dilated wide and felt the disappeared presence start to accumulate again in one single point.

He turn around and to his shock, the sliced body of the monster start to integrate. Even the arm he cut off regenerated again.

"Is this the power of Mandrake Potion if taken twice?!" He uttered in disbelief. But the proof is already present in front of him. Believing the rumor or not is nonsense.

Mandrake Potion. It is one of the forbidden potions anywhere in the world. This potion is made from the blood of different monster species. It is one of the successful experiments of a well-known nefarious Cult, the Sleeping Creed.

No one knows how the Sleeping Creed made the Mandrake Potion. It is still a mystery to every kingdom. But one thing is for sure, if a person drinks a vial of Mandrake Potion, it will give the person an overwhelming strength temporarily that lasted a couple of hours.

When the effect of Mandrake Potion wears out, the repercussion is severe. Complete blindness, dryness of the mouth, severe headache, and vomiting. And the worst is completely crippling the person, making one's status a normal citizen and having no chance of becoming strong again.

This is why the Mandrake Potion is forbidden anywhere in the world. Kingdoms try to track down the Sleeping Creed but to no avail. Even if they find one member of the cult, it is long dead. Died of suicide. To avoid any loose ends. A cunning and merciless way of cutting any loose ends.

Knowing the benefits and the side effect, no one tries to experiment with it. But it is rumored that if two vials were drunk by a single person, it will give a tremendous power, completely ignoring the logic. But then again, no one tries.

But right now, in front of him. Count Alvis was full of disbelief and resentment toward the cult!

"Damn those Sleeping Creed! This is inhuman!"

He saw the revival of what's become of Rook from being dead just seconds ago!

Once again, he exudes an overwhelming aura, preparing to use his strongest attack, the [Skill: Bloody Divide].

The monster lunges at him and Count Alvis takes the countermeasure by cutting the leg off. After reaching the needed MP, the blade sucks his leaking aura and uses the [Skill: Bloody Divide].

Once again, the monster was cut in half. He stands there gasping for air and on standby. Preparing for the worst.

And his worst nightmare comes true. The monster was revived again, its blood from its sliced body reconnected followed by the body itself.

Count Alvis is lost for words and his brain wracks everything he knew while cutting the arm, legs, and head off of the monsters.

After half a minute, its cut-off limbs were reattached again in their original place, making Count Alvis drop his sword.

He runs out of options. His mana is almost drained since they were fighting for an hour. And he regretted it.

If he didn't pity Rook, this turn of events won't happen.

The reason why he didn't kill Rook in an instant is that he wants to solve the mystery regarding the Sleeping Creed but Rook is very silent when they strike up a conversation about the cult while fighting.

He can only blame his foolishness.

That was the moment his eyes caught the paper he read countless times which give him a push not to lose hope!

He picks up his sword and runs outside the Town Hall.

Seeing him running away, the monster follows suit. The Town Hall which is already messed is now getting destroyed due to the huge building of the monster.

He didn't want to admit it but he cannot defeat this monster alone. He needed support, a healer, and a lot of MP potions.

So Count Alvis run down the hallway leading outside.

While running, his eyes caught a familiar person.

"Mel?! What are you still doing here? You should have gone outside already!"

He was surprised that Mel is still inside. Did he decide to help take down the monster? But doing so will only reveal his secret to the public and it will endanger his daughter's life and his.

At this juncture, even with Mel's help. Nothing will change unless he knows something to permanently kill the monster.

Seeing the hesitation on Mel's face, Count Alvis consoles him.

"It is okay to be wary of me, everybody else in the Capital City shares the same sentiments. Yes, I know your secrets. And I'm telling you, it is no use to help me now. With our combined power, we cannot take down this unkillable monster!"

He saw Mel's face change from shock, to disbelief, and calm.

"Tsk. I never expected that the Count can easily unwrap my secret. Anyway, I saw everything, and you are right. There's no way we can take down that horrendous monster."

He is going to lie if hope didn't sprout from his mind when he saw Mel but the reality is cruel. Hearing him say that make Count Alvis shook his head.

"Anyway, let's go outside. I believe we still have numbers of knights out there and thousands of heroes might be waiting outside. We can use their help."

"Yes, you are correct. I saw them when I peek through the window and this location is surrounded by heroes. If not for the perimeter your knight had set, they will storm this Town Hall for sure."

Amidst the horrendous monster tailing them, Count Alvis was able to wryly laugh. "It's heroes. They only seek wealth and power. That is because they were blessed. Even if they died, they would come back again in an instant. Such ability is envious don't you think?"

Mel didn't answer.

Count Alvis continues. His soft expression turns serious once more. "We need their help. Do not worry, you do not need to join the fight. I know everything that happened back then. I assure you with my life and in my family's name. Your secret is safe with me."

Mel scrutinize Count Alvis who didn't bat an eye when he assured him. The former nodded his head and inquire the Count. "Are you the only one knows about it?"

"No, the Captain also knows it but do not worry. He won't go to spread it."

Mel obviously knows the name of the Captain and his personality so he can only agree.

After running for a minute, they were able to safely get outside.

They retreated back and saw the Town Hall is now crumbling. It is only a matter of a moment before the entirety of the Town Hall collapse.

Count Alvis turn around and saw twenty knights and the Captain being healed by two heroes. There are also 7 heroes present within the perimeter and calming down the servant.

But when these heroes saw the Town Hall getting crumbled, their faces cannot hide their anxiety.

He then look around and saw outside the perimeter that hundreds of players are watching over.

Count Alvis didn't waste the opportunity. He runs towards the gate.

"Heroes! We need your assistance. A horrendous monster appeared, killing everyone in sight. Even the Town Chief Rook didn't make it. Lend us your help! Those who participate will be given rewards and those who can kill it will receive an extra ample reward!"

In an instant, the heroes shouted echo throughout the Town. Their shout is so loud that the closest goblin pack nearby the forest was startled.

"This is my time! I will kill that monster!"

"Yes! The time for the quest begins!"

"Get out of my way! I will kill that monster myself!"

Count Alvis sighed in relief. With these unkillable heroes against that unkillable monster, only time will tell who can outlast each other.

He then orders his knight guarding the gate to open it and let the heroes enter.

The Town Hall is wide and big and so is its backyard. It can house hundreds of heroes which is a day-to-day sight in this Town.

The hero's adrenaline is high. Preparations after preparations are done while their gaze is on a single place.

Count Alvis then turns to the citizen of the West Town who is still outside the gate.

"My people. Go home, and those closes houses from this location, go pack and went to the Central Plaza. This fight might take a while."

In an instant, the citizens of West Town heed his advice.

Count Alvis gives an order to the 5 knights beside him to calm the people in the Plaza and advise the city guard to close the gate for the time being. And head to the church and ask for the help of the nun and priest to heal the wounded servant and knights. He also orders the rest of the knights to stick close.

He turns around and looks at hundreds of heroes waiting for the monster to appear with enthusiasm.

With the heroes in front, no more knights and citizens will die.

After making sure everything is in order.

He went ahead and go to the wounded servant and knights.

He saw the two beautiful young ladies done healing the Captain.

"My gratitude for healing the wounded. After this chaos, you will be rewarded handsomely. Please take a rest, the priests and nuns are on the way."

The young ladies bow their heads. Not only because of rewards but because they found out he is the Count who oversaw this land.

Suddenly, they heard something crumbling and everyone simultaneously turn their gaze to the source.

At last, what remained of the Town Hall fell. Completely destroyed. The proud and old Town Hall that stood for centuries was erased by this large and horrendous monster that howl when it saw hundreds and hundreds of people in front of him.

And its only thought is one word.

Food.
