"So this information was not removed." Gerard mumbles. He knows the information regarding this matter but to make sure, he still read everything for safety purposes. Just like the saying, the more one is aware, the safer one can get by.
[Host Killer Status: Currently Clear]
[If the Host kills an innocent Player or NPC, a punishment will be handed to the Host once caught by authorities.]
[Crime Level 1 for killing an innocent 1 Player or NPC, the Punishment is 2 years of imprisonment with a fine of 1 Gold Coin. The host can bail for 5 Gold Coins for temporary release until proven guilty or not guilty.
Crime Level 2 for killing an innocent 2 or more but not higher than 10 innocent Players and NPCs, the punishment is 5 years of imprisonment with a fine of 2 Gold Coins. The host can bail for 10 Gold Coins for temporary release until proven guilty or not guilty.
Crime Level 3 for killing 11 innocent but not higher than 30 Players or NPCs, the punishment is 10 years of Imprisonment with a fine of 5 Gold Coins. The host can bail for 20 Gold Coins for temporary release until proven guilty or not guilty.]
Hmm. So the Justice System didn't change a lot, only the fined increase a little bit.
He then scroll down on the current window of the Interface and he was stumped when another piece of information was revealed. He didn't expect the Player Killer's information will appear on his Interface Menu and is different compared to him as NPC!
Player Killer!
Player Killer is a title bestowed to a Player killing Player or NPCs. The City Hall or Town Hall will issue a Wanted Poster with appropriate rewards and for every Player, this is the quest for them. Although they cannot kill the Player Killer, due to the authorities needing them alive, the latter can kill them. But it doesn't mean the other player cannot beat them. So precaution and extensive preparations are needed to catch the Player Killer.
The reason being, not only the Rewards are to drool over, but once the Player Killer was handed over to the authority. The Player Killer will suffer a loss. The level of loss depends on the level of his crime, it can be equipment dropped or level loss or in special instances both depending on a Player Killer's Crime Level and both losses are permanent. The dropped equipment will be given to the Player who handed over the Player Killer.
The highest Crime the System can bestow to a Player Killer if the conditions are met is Crime Level 5.
[The punishment for every Crime Level is as follows]
[Crime Level 1 for killing an innocent 1 Player or 1 innocent NPC, the Punishment is 1 Level Loss and 1-day imprisonment.
Crime Level 2 for killing two or more but not higher than 10 innocent Players and NPCs is 5 Level Loss and 2 days imprisonment.
Crime Level 3 for killing 11 or more but not higher than 30 innocent Players and NPCs is 10 Level Loss and as additional punishment, 25 attributes for Attack Power, Agility, Defense, and Intelligence will be permanent loss and 3 days imprisonment.
Crime Level 4 for killing 30 or more but not higher than 50 people innocent Players and NPCs is 15 Level Loss and as additional punishment, 50 attributes for Attack Power, Agility, Defense, and Intelligence will be permanent loss and temporarily banned on the said Town or City for 10 days after finishing the 10 days imprisonment.
Crime Level 5 for Mass Killing that exceeds 51 people innocent Players and NPC is 20 Level Loss, 100 attributes for Attack Power, Agility, Defense, and Intelligence will be permanently lost and permanently banned on the said Town or City after finishing the 20 days imprisonment.]
It seems both categories are harsh but are just. Gerard believes in the accuracy and the judgment of the Supreme System! In real life, mass killing is deemed the most brutal aspect of crimes. The suspect will be imprisoned until death. While in some countries it is punishable by death.
NPCs that committed crimes will be imprisoned for much longer with higher Gold fines. While the Players lose attributes permanently, although they cannot bail for temporary release, it will only take them days to be imprisoned, and do not need to pay a fine.
NPCs will lose time while Players will lose attributes. For Players, attributes are a foundation. If the foundation of the house were crippled, it is only a matter of time before it gives in. Same with Players, if their attributes decreased greatly, they will be left behind by the majority of Players. Gaining attributes is hard as leveling up.
Although they can increase their attributes through equipment or drink potions to temporarily increase them, the increase of attributes is only a little. Unless they found an Epic Item or Legendary Item or gulped a higher-tier potion.
Then Gerard clicks on another tab available in his Menu Interface.
The quest-issued log is the list of quests he issued to players, self-explanatory. The title of the quest, the condition of the quest, and the duration of the completion of the quest are all written. As of now, since the quest just commenced, no other information is displayed only the remaining time to complete the quest.
He then looks for another tab such as Inventory, Achievements, and Friends List. Gerard was taken aback when he open his Inventory.
There are 5 Silver Coins in his inventory, food, and water as well! And one extra piece of clothing! He grinned merrily counting the available slot on his inventory.
Apparently, the extra piece of clothing occupies a slot. So it means, the items he can store inside on his inventory are limited, unless he was able to level up the Supreme System Menu Interface?
With this money, Gerard can last at least five days even without working or issuing a quest.
But who said I would not work? I will definitely find a way to earn money because if I don't, the only place I can sleep is on the open street!
Just thinking of it made him shiver!
As for achievements, nothing is written. He had a hunch that this tab is intended for his accumulated achievements. But he is positive he will get something in return if he accumulates many achievements.
And for the Friends List? Hmm. His character job is Special NPC, but he cannot act as a Special NPC anymore. He already accepts the fact he now belongs to this world. A literal NPC and the System will it.
Is the Special NPC Job can issue a quest? During the time he tries to choose his character, the description for Special NPC is clear and light as day!
Only for leisure time! That job is created for spendthrift people! An extra income for a company!
But since the situation turns this way, he has no choice but to blend in NPCs, not in Players.
Still, his previous predicament has been resolved. Now he has a chance to live freely without worrying too much in this world.
Although there are monsters, demons, and other beasts lurking around in the whole world, the Guards protecting the City and Town are all high-Level NPC! The lowest level NPC is 20! Imagine how powerful the weakest Guard is compared to the Players! Even the Mayor and the Town Chief's minimum level is at 50!
So for the time being, he is safe inside the Town.
Unless! Yes, unless someone triggers a rare Epic Quest that involves the whole Town or City under siege! The Epic quest alone is considered the third most difficult quest out of five quests available in the game, and if this quest involved a town or city, then the difficulty will increase.
Although Guards and authorities are present, there's always a loss and collateral damage during the siege.
So the best way to avoid being part of the collateral damage is to increase his Charm and work splendidly to be noticed by the Town Chief and be promoted to an Official Position in Town Hall. Because once it happens, Guards without a doubt will protect him at all costs.
And triggering such Epic Quests that involve siege is very low.
While Gerald is contemplating. Outside the Town. The Swordsman name Lite that received a quest from Payne Blanc found Level 1 Goblin, alone and carrying a boar on its small right shoulder, while carrying the mace in his left hand.
He shook his head, even with a small build and small height, the Goblin sure is strong.
Once again, Lite survey the surrounding making sure no monster or beast is present to avoid miscalculation when he starts to ambush the lone Goblin.
Lite only has 30 minutes left before the quest expired. It took him more than 20 minutes to reach the outside of the Town.
Although it is just a Town, it is quite big. After all, it housed more than 20 thousand NPCs and 3 thousand Players at the moment.
After looking inside the forest, he finally find one after 10 minutes.
As Lite nodded in confirmation no one else is around. He brandished his sword from his waist and carefully and slowly walked toward the lone Goblin.
After reaching enough distance, he plunges his Level 1 Sword into the back of the Goblin and takes it back. The latter shrieked in intense pain
"Hiiiekk!" The goblin dropped the boar on his little shoulder while blood start oozing from his back.
Lite saw his damage only amount to 10.
"Not bad!"
The Goblin recovered from intense pain quickly turn around and run toward his attacker. Lite made a stance and didn't move.
In this one-on-one battle against the Goblin, it is wise to let the Goblin charge than meet it head-on. Players can use the advantage of the Goblin's height to take it down.
So Lite just grips his sword tightly while gritting his teeth.
The Rank E: Level 1 Goblin shrieked again before swinging its Mace to Lite. The latter easily blocks the Mace with his sword and was about to counter-attack but the enrage Goblin didn't let him he quickly swing its Mace again and again.
Lite was surprised by the repeated attacks thrown at him by the Level 1 Goblin.
That was only a Rank E: Level 1 Goblin for Pete's sake so why it is too aggressive?!
Lite jump back but the Goblin was too frustrated that his attack didn't land on the Player. So the former charged again crazily.
But this time, Lite is ready. He let the Goblin reach the maximum radius of his skill. Once the Goblin enter the radius of his skill, he activated one of the two level 1 available on Swordsman.
[Slash]
Lite swings his sword and it slashes the body of the Goblin a couple of times. The Goblin squeal loudly receiving the attack of the Player.
Two damage reports prompted on the head of the Goblin.
-18 Damage. -15 Damage.
[Slash] is the quick movement of an attack, slicing the enemy twice.
Even though the Goblin received the skill of the player, it didn't stop him from swinging his mace and successfully landing on Lite's right leg! -5 Damage.
Lite groaned due to the pain "Shit! Damn. This 90% Synchronization rate is too much, even though my Pain Tolerance Level only amounts to 40%.
Pain Tolerance Level is the amount of pain the Player can feel. Since he arranges the level to 40%, only 40% of the amount of pain he can feel compared to the actual pain he can feel if this happened in the real world.
But even so, since the Synchronization Rate reached 90%, the pain tolerance seems to upgrade as well.
As a veteran player, Lite disregards the Pain Tolerance Level and performs a normal attack on the Goblin since the latter is within his reach and only has 7 HP left!
"Die!" Lite shouted as he plunge his swords into the head of the Goblin.
-9 Damage.
After the damage report disappears, the Goblin turns to particles of light and disappears as well except for the latter's weapon.
After massaging his right leg, Lite picks up the Mace and uses analysis skills on the weapon.
[Goblin Mace:]
[+4 Attack Damage when worn]
[Can be sold to NPC Shop]
[Analyze] skill is a free skill bestowed to all Players to analyze the information of basic equipment and items. But the said skill cannot analyze high-level items and equipment. Unless the player increases the level of [Analyze].
To level up the [Analyze] skill, one needed a Skill Point.
Lite look at his character information again and saw that he still have the remaining 2 Skill Points out of 5 Skill Points given to every Player.
But one should know that a Player needed a lot of Skill Points to level up their skills.
Like his [Level 1: Slash] skill.
It is currently on [2/10].
He still needs 8 Skill Points to level up his [Slash] skill to Level 2.
As for the [Analyze] skill, it is currently on 0 out of 20 Skill Points.
Instead of being shocked, he already knows the [Analyze] skill is too expensive compared to others in terms of Skill Points because of the potential it can bring to every Player in the future as the game progress.
If the game progress to a certain degree, the [Analyze] skill will be important since the item and equipment drop is much higher level compared to the drop of the Rank E: Level 1 Goblin. But no sane Player will put their Free Skill Points to [Analyze] in this stage of the game. The other reason being is how hard to earn Skill Points and level up.
This Skill Point cannot be bought, dropped, or gain in the treasure chest. It can only be gained through leveling and rewards from quests. Once a Player gain 1 Level, then the Player will receive 2 Skill Points.
Lite shook his head and stored the Mace in his inventory. Although he was tempted to sell it to Shop the quest forbids him from doing so because it is included in the requirements to complete the quest. So he can only store it in his inventory and carry on to complete the quest as soon as possible.
After storing the Mace in his Inventory, Lite looks at the Experience Bar or Exp Bar. As expected, it only gave him 3% Exp.
The Exp Bar needed 100% Exp for the character to Level Up.
But Lite is not disappointed, everyone was aware of this. But if one wants to level up faster, they should form a party and hunt in bulk or kill a higher-level monster. But that is too dangerous at this stage of the game so every player is satisfied to kill Rank E: Level 1 Monster they can spot on.
Lite check his Inventory again and made sure to if the free Health Potion that every Player received as a welcoming gift is indeed there. There is also the Mana Potion.
[Basic Health Potion]
[Provide 15 HP instantly to Player when used]
[Basic Mana Potion]
[Provide 10 MP instantly to Player when used]
Since he just received 5 damage, he decided not to use the Health Potion for now and carry on his quest.
