Chapter2: I Was Chasing This Big Guy

"What is your name?" said the monstrous creature that is sitting right in front of Kite.

Kite was wide-eyed hearing the creature in front of him, he was engrossed in drawing the creature in front of him that he never thought that it has the ability to talk let alone talk in the same language as he is.

"am…Ummm, My na..name is Kite" Kite said stuttering as he look at the creature's sharp and pointy teeth.

"Why didn't you run?" said the creature slowly contorting his body, where his body started to shrink, his skin change color, until the creature finally transformed into another kid form which was Philip.

"Better. " the creature said who has now started to smile at Kite.

"I was curious and I wanted to remember this moment as to why I wanted to draw you. " Kite said who doesn't realize that his stuttering has now disappeared and he is now starting to feel comfortable around the creature now that he took another form.

Hearing Kite's answer, the creature in the form of Philip began to smile ominously however this ominous smile wasn't one that would bring harm it was more like the creature was smiling ominously as if he had finally met someone like him.

Red light with a mix of darkness began to emit from the creature as he sent out this glow on the tendrils that were protruding in his body to the other creatures that were around him.

"I hope you don't mind, I'll send your friends back home for now while we have a chat?" the creature said as the tendrils that ensnared began to let go of every living thing that it has trapped, but every living creature that was released were now like puppets that are being controlled to follow a certain command which is to get out of this place.

"yes. " Kite said nodding.

Kite gaze at his friends who are now dazed and have started to move heading in the direction of the orphanage.

Gazing at his friends, Kite finally looks back and asks the creature "who? And what are you?"

Like none of the things that just happened moments ago, Kite was acting like nothing happened recently and is now looking at the creature in Philip form with curious thoughts with a thousand questions.

"What am I? I am me and as for who am I hmmm." The creature said as if he wasn't sure what to tell for the question of who is he but after a minute of silence the creature finally answered Kite and said "you can call me Andromeda"

"where did you come from? how did you come here?..." Kite said as he lunches a barrage of questions in an enthusiastic manner.

Andromeda was in disbelief and already thought that this barrage of questions that is being lunch toward him was never going to end and so he said "wait Kid…I can't answer all your questions, How about you ask me 3 questions starting right now and that's it"

Andromeda thought to himself, looking at Kite ' this is just a kid and from the look of it seems to have been alive for 11 years, he'll probably ask unnecessary questions soo'

"Rather than 3 questions, how about we ask each other one question at a time," Andromeda said as he gestured for Kite to take the first question.

"where did you come from?" Kite said with his arm up just around his chin with an excited expression in his eyes.

Andromeda pointed his fingers in the starry night sky and said "I'm from a different world. "

"Now it's my turn to ask. " Andromeda said thinking if he has something to ask about the kid, other than the question why Kite didn't run Andromeda doesn't have a question for Kite who is a kid, A question he can answer.

However something caught Andromeda's eye, it was Kite's wrist there seems to be a rune tattooed into it.

"can you tell me about the rune on your wrist?" Andromeda said who is now in deep thought.

It seems that just seeing the white-colored rune on Kite's wrist Andromeda was already able to guess the situation of this world to a small extent.

"This is the crystal rune that is given to us by the divine crystals to have a fighting chance against the monsters that are attacking us, I would like to show you its power but it won't work until one reaches the age of 16. " Kite said showing his wrist to Andromeda.

Hearing Kite's explanation and looking at the crystal rune, Andromeda grabbed Kite's wrist with one arm while his other arm was glowing in red light and as it touches the crystal rune, it was removed from Kite's wrist.

Andromeda began to inspect the crystal rune that he removed from Kite's wrist and with Andromeda's focus on the inspection of the crystal rune Kite wanted to record this moment he is seeing right now and decided to draw Andromeda that was in the form of Philip that was inspecting the crystal rune.

"Thanks to this rune, I'll be able to leave sooner than expected. " Andromeda said with a surprised expression like he was mocking someone.

"how reckless" Andromeda said as he look at Kite who was currently drawing.

"hey kid, I'll have to go now but I'll give you a gift for your help and for giving me some company. " Andromeda said with the white crystal rune that was in his hand slowly turning black.

with the transformation of the crystal rune, the black crystal rune began to float towards Kite where it began to embed itself in Kite's wrist.

"Should we test it out?" Andromeda said as a hologram began to appear right above Kite's wrist where the black crystal rune was.

Kite was amazed, he knew that the only way for the crystal rune to work is when one reaches the age of 16, and not only that Andromeda who was standing right in front summoned tendrils from his body that grabbed a hold of five fireflies.

Andromeda transferred a bit of energy to one of the fireflies that transforming it into a much larger creature that exudes a fiery aura, Controlling the modified firefly its body began to expand as it launches a ball of fire that was able to bring down a tree with one attack.

Andromeda look at Kite as he controlled the modified firefly to land on the ground unmoving and said "Try killing it".

Like Kite wasn't able to hear Andromeda, Kite began to draw the newly transformed firefly In his notebook.

Andromeda was dumbfounded 'feels like I'm talking to a rock' Andromeda thought with no choice he transformed another one of the fireflies and release the rest and said. "you can have this one a draw it for later, try killing the other one right now".

Hearing this Kite pick up a stone and smash the transformed firefly, having a large injury with the first hit the poor firefly was still not dead so Kite kept on smashing the rock on its body until it took him four hits to completely kill the creature.

Looking at the hologram that was in front of Kite, Andromeda grabbed Kite by the shoulder and said "Your rune is different from others so you should not show it carelessly to others, you can think of it as a curse or my gift to you"

Unable to say anything Kite nodded as he looked at Andromeda.

"If I am right and we are alike that gift will help you in achieving the thing you desire, you're not fit to stay trap here. " Andromeda said as he walk deeper into the forest.

"I know you still have more questions, but let me give you some advice for leaving so soon never try dying Kid"

Andromeda's silhouette disappeared as he continued to enter deeper into the mountains leaving Kite alone with a weird-looking firefly.

All alone Kite was being hunted as regret started to appear in his mind about questions he wasn't able to ask but he look at his wrist the black-colored crystal rune became white again.

Puzzled by the change Kite called out "Open"

Seeing the hologram window Kite was able to input numbers and skill a façade that will help him hide the gift that was given to him.

' I still have so many questions, but I should go home everyone might be worried' Kite thought as he began to go down the mountain and return home to the orphanage with his companion a weird-looking firefly.

Arriving at the orphanage Kite saw his friend all on their knees being scolded by sister Mary from his friend's expression it seem none of them remembered what happened in the mountain' I guess I better hide everything 'thought Kite.

"You, Come here and go down on your knees with the others. " Sister Mary said as look at Kite walking through the entrance.

With no choice Kite kneel on the ground and was forcefully made to hear sister Mary's Sermons.

"where were you? We have been trying to find you Kite" Phil said with no recollection of anything that happened in the mountain.

Kite smiled as he look at Phil.

"I was chasing this big guy. " Kite said as a weird-looking firefly float just right above him and landed on his head.
