The reason I made this book was create a better version of it, because some part of the story isn't good and doesn't make any sense, so I'll rewrite it then. While the original author seems retires and didn't complete the whole story, I might just gonna complete it for him. And also, in this book, the characters and the outcome of the story is similar, I added an extra twist to make the story very thrill. Assault on Air(3)

At the hangar bay, a group of Legionnaires kills both Republican Soldiers and mages. They were led by the Legionnaire Commander as he killed a republican technician without mercy nor remorse.

"Move in!" The Legionnaire commander said as they went towards the direction of the bridge room. They went to cover as Republican soldiers and mages firing their magic at them.

Three Legionnaires raised their odd and peculiar guns and shot three dark energy balls at them and they were vaporized, their raw stats, and most advanced magic barrier isn't enough to block the energy as it corrupts mana as well. The energy balls bounce around the hallway as the commander and the Legionnaires are taking cover while the Republican soldiers and Mages are vaporized until the energy balls blow up.

Multiple portals suddenly appeared from behind them as four more Legionnaires came out and a squad leader said to the commander.

"Squad leader of Vanguard-1. We have orders to aid you."

"Okay, let's move out!" The commander ordered.

———————————————————————

"What is happening?" The Fleet Captain pointed to the outside of the crystal windows of the bridge. "Why have we slowed?"

"C-Captain..." One of the crew nervously made his report. "We lost contact with the rear main boiler station... Steam levels have fallen..."

"W-We suspect that... the invaders have overrun the boiler station..." He added.

"OVER RUN?" The Captain's expression was a mix of anger and disbelief. "WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE THE PALADINS AND THE JUSTICE ORDER DOING?! A BUNCH OF USELESS FOOLS! SON OF A—!"

BOOM!

Cutting his words off, all of a sudden another explosion violently shook the ship, meanwhile, a group of Legionnaires, without wasting time proceeded towards the bridge room as they killed more enemy soldiers standing in their way.

When they reached the door leading to the bridge room, one Legionnaire took out a large gun and shot a huge ball of energy on the door. As it exploded, one immediately threw a flash grenade as it exploded and they went into the room. The Legionnaires, without any hesitation, killed every crew in the bridge room, leaving a shocking fleet captain.

The Fleet Captain was surprised when a group of invaders suddenly appeared. He was more amazed at their muskets that could shoot more faster and destructive than anything that the Meccans and their magical guns could create. Within seconds of the ambush, almost half his party was down in their own pool of blood.

His Protectors stepped in and activated their magical shields with several different higher resistance against types of attacks, which flickered madly under the insane rate of fire of the invaders' weapons. He frowned as he stepped back thinking hard about the abilities of these invaders. He knew he had underestimated them greatly but he still could not understand why this particular group was so powerful.

"Why did they not take control of the entire world sooner if they had such weapons?" He stood there wondering without a care of what was happening around him. "How peculiar..."

Sighing, the Captain never knew he would go into combat as a powerful warrior of the Republic long ago. Drawing his primary weapon out, he looked at his protector's dead body that couldn't hold long and got shot, his blood flew in the air and landed on the Captain's cheeks.

Taking out a handkerchief and started to wipe off the blood on his cheek.

As he wiped it clean, a dozen Legionnaires surrounded him, their strangely powerful muskets pointing at him. He eyed the weapons held by these invaders with great interest. He watched as one of the invaders yelled something and two others in their full black attire befitting a lawless nation.

"[Time Acceleration] [Thought Acceleration]" He murmured, unleashing his skills for the first time since he was a General decades ago.

Time slowed as he casted dozens of Speed and Focus based spells on himself. He could see every single detail of the two invaders from their hands to the black and red rectangular muzzle that was slowly rising up as everything seemed to move in slow motion. A puff of red dust erupted out from the tiny steam gun's muzzle and a red blurry ball of energy spat out, moving at the speed of light towards him as he stared directly at it.

He took a step to dodge the bullets flying towards him and out of the corner of his eye, he saw the rest of the invaders were digging out something from their vests. The two bullets buzzed past him and flew off somewhere. He next stepped away from the black canisters that the invaders tossed at him but the canisters suddenly erupted in a blinding flash and a loud crack that left his ears ringing loudly.

For a moment he was confused and blinded by the attacks and he felt his mana becoming unstable for just a moment. The Captain could only stumble blindly backwards while his recovery skill automatically activates that managed to help clear his blindness and ringing in his ears.

As he opened his eyes, he raised his scythe and rushed forward, dodging the shots from the invaders, he closed the distance rapidly. He slashed at one of the invaders who got sliced into two, he swung his scythe again at the two next invaders.

The invader brought his weapon horizontally up to block his weapon and the Captain gave a bloodthirsty grin behind his mask as he cast a spell just as his blade impacted the invaders' weapon. "[Reality Slash!]"

His blade glowed white for a split moment and a sharp slashed that seemed to cut space erupted out from his blade. The slash easily split the weapon in half and dumped its remaining power vertically down on the invader, including a few others behind him.

Thinking he could take care of these invaders by himself alone, the Captain thinks he should've just intervened earlier. As he was to continue...

BAM!

To his shock, someone casually walks on the slow world and punches the Captain's face before he could react.

Landing on the floor, the Captain held his head and groaned in pain, he looked to the side to see the Red armored Legionnaire Commander, staring at him menacingly.

"Surrender or face death" The commander said with an emotionless expression through his vertical visors.

"Never! The full might of the Republic and the Empire will defeat your army, we will never surrender from the likes of you, invade—!"

Before the captain finish his words, he was interrupted when a hand grabs his head and...

"Oh, shut up. You never know the deep and dark secret behind these republic scums they were hiding, no, because y'all blinded by their so-called liberty"

The commander kicked the unrecognizable corpse away and went to the controls of the airship. He was once experienced controlling the airship before being as a former general of the Republic but after learning the hidden secret the Republican authorities held and their connection to the Underworld a few years ago, he tries to tell the people, but only gets arrested by the government and his life went to hell.

As he and the others finally control the ship, he contacts the others that are already taking control of the enemy ship.

"This is the squad leader of the 13th renegade squad, we're taking control of this ship. Anyone have success to take control the enemy ship?"

[This is squad leader of the, squad leader of the 464th renegade squad, we capture the enemy ship]

[This is squad leader of the 288th renegade squad, we successfully capture an enemy ship]

"Good. We proceed for phase two" He said.

Three massive Republican Airships controlled by Legion commanders went to invade the Capital city of the Republic of Aeltrus to eradicate all of those who were against them. Some want revenge, some want it to change, and some don't have any ill intentions towards them but being forcibly ordered to.

The Machine Dropships, Gunships, and Battle Drones follow them to lead the invasion.
