"Where am I? Where is this place?" Ash wondered.
He'd just escaped the monster and landed in some place unknown to him. He stood on the edge of the hill, and he could see the town from above. It was nothing like his place, the city was covered with tall buildings. The technology looked like the core of society. He was impressed as astonished as he was.
He went down the hill and ventured into the town. Robots filled the place.
He entered a cafe.
"Anything I can do to help you, sir?" A humanoid popped up from behind.
"Uh, no!" He answered, surprised.
"Whew, almost gave me an attack there!" He sighed in relief.
People were busy with their work. Automobiles covered the roads. No sign of trees anywhere. Tall statues reading 'Justice comes with peace' could be seen from time to time.
"Hmm... Not gonna lie, this place ain't that bad." Ash wondered.
He took a turn and found himself walking towards an empty lane.
"That's kinda ... creepy, I guess?" He said to himself.
He carried forward towards his path. There, he encountered a man talking to a woman at the end of the lane.
They looked mysterious. He hid behind a dustbin kept there and tried to hear their conversation.
"Are you done erasing the files?" The man asked.
"Yes, though some places are still vulnerable to the WDB maps. We need to check the range of ermitteln groups altogether before carrying out our plan," she replied.
"What is ermitteln?" Ash wondered.
"Set it up, I want to see the Investigation Department of WDB shred to pieces. Especially that smart-ass guy. He's been pokin' in around our business for quite a long time now," the man said.
"Yes. I'll see to it that the blasts are carried out perfectly." The woman sounded confident.
"Good. But before that, we got business to handle." His gaze fell upon the dustbin behind which Ash was hiding.
He went towards the dustbin and whistled.
"Boy, you can come out now. You would've gone unnoticed, but that weird fabric of yours sticking out made it impossible for me to not notice." He smirked.
Ash was shocked.
"Shit, they got me!"
He took out his beam ball, took a deep breath, and closed his eyes. Nothing happened. He could clearly see the gates to the cosmos in his head. What was the matter?
The man took out his gun.
Ash had no time.
He sprinted for the other end in order to reach the main street.
But he was late.
As the bullet pierced through him with stabbing pain, Ash let out a sharp cry.
As he hit the ground, his eyes opened.
He was lying on the hospital bed.
