Forty years ago, somewhere in Wisconsin.

A couple consummated their love in a simple wedding ceremony.

But the man gave the woman something much more luxurious than the ceremony itself.

It was an exquisitely-carved set of chess pieces.

The two bonded over their shared love of chess, particularly on how they would play the often-used Sicilian defense, which is still being employed by beginners and experts alike for its wide variety of combative options.

Over the years, they would still play chess together, and their union would soon be blessed with two children and five grandchildren.

They would live the rest of their years until they both died of natural causes, just an hour apart from each other.

But the legacy they would leave behind would finally make their way to another set of lovers... many, many years later.
