Sweet Temptation: Cunning CEO And His Feisty Wife

“What do you mean I have to take responsibility by marrying you? I would rather get arrested over marrying you!” With a firm voice, she declared, glaring at the man standing in front of her. The man smiled, inching closer to her, “I am the victim here. That was my first kiss, I was saving it for my future wife. Since you took it, it's only right for you to marry me.” He calmly answered, with a smirk. “Crazy bastard…” *** Azalea's life took an unexpected turn when she kissed a stranger at the bar thinking it was going to be a one-time thing. Tie down the feisty cat.

"I guess, I have no choice. But first, let me change the bedsheets. Can you sit on the chair for a few moments?"

Adam didn't take a second to get up, pulled up the chair, and sat down. From nowhere, he looked like a wounded patient from a few hours ago.

Azalea didn't speak out of her suspicion and rather focused on changing sheets. The whole time, she was making the bed; Adam's eyes remained stuck on her, following her every little movement.

"You can lay down, I will freshen up first," Azalea informed, pulling out her pajamas from the wardrobe. Adam nodded, leaning down on the bed.

After ten or fifteen minutes, Azalea returned to find Adam had already fallen asleep. She sighed, putting the blanket over him. She had no idea how he got all those wounds, but something told her that asking would only bring more pain to him. Maybe he was associated with some mafia stuff, yet there she was completely uncaring towards the fact he was no better than a stranger and sleeping on her bed.

As the haunting reality dawned over her, she could only cuss herself. She told herself that she would not trust guys after all that happened in the past yet here she was, couldn't help but get smitten by a total stranger.

Azalea sighed, trying to quietly grab her pillow and leave, but Adam caught her in the act. "Where do you think you are going?" Adam questioned, raising his brow.

"Nowhere! Just fixing my pillow." Azalea nervously answered, getting inside the comforter and lying down beside him. Somehow she felt a guilty conscience as if she was caught doing something wrong.

Adam smiled seeing her rest beside her, he wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her closer as if it was a natural thing. On the other hand, Azalea was all flustered. She pulled her head back, staring at him puzzled.

"What are you doing?" She questioned, trying to remove his hand.

"Pulling you into my arms," Adam answered calmly.

"Are you out of mind? Why will I be in a stranger's arms?" Azalea argued.

"That's why I asked you to marry me? It's only natural for the husband to pull his wife into his arms while sleeping." Adam stated.

"Crazy bastard, how is that important?" Azalea glared at him, struggling to push him away.

"Of course it is. Tell me why you don't wish to marry me. I am sure I don't lack anything to get a woman."

Azalea bit her lower lips, before facing him, "You tell me why you want to marry me?"

Adam wanted to say that it was because he loved her from the very first time they met but he couldn't. After what she had gone through saying that would ruin his chances with her. Adam let out a smirk, pulling her closer, "Because I am a businessman, Azalea. And marrying you seems most profitable for both of us."

Azalea scanned his face, not saying anything and a smile bloomed on her face, "Damn, If I knew this was your plan all along. I would have agreed long back. Sure, let's get married." She declared.

Adam's eyes widened, he was in disbelief. Did she agree to marry him with no further inquiry? Was it that easy to make her his? It all seems like a dream to him. And also an aching pain to think she would rather marry for profit over love. Was she that untrusty over love? How much she must have been hurt to be that dubious of love?

"Though I have few conditions. First, I don't want to have a grand wedding and stuff just register our names. Second, even if it's not a real marriage I don't want infidelity, and third most important of all, no one should know about this, especially my family." Azalea continued.

"Who said it would be a fake marriage? It will be real and in real marriage infidelity has no right. And as for the other two, I agree. I have one condition though, try to see me as your husband, not your business partner." Adam cleared up, trying to not show his euphoria. His happiness knew no bounds but if he showed he was sure Azalea would run away thinking he was some crazy guy.

Azalea was hesitant for a few moments before nodding her head and turning her back towards him, "Now sleep. Good night."

Adam just smiled, staring at her back. "Good night, wifey." His reply caused Azalea to blush but luckily he couldn't see that. She pulled the blanket over her eyes and closed her eyes trying to fall asleep. It didn't take long for her to enter the slumberland.

Next morning…

Azalea felt something wrapped around her waist, half asleep she tried to push it off, putting her leg and arm around what seemed like a pillow. But strangely the pillow seemed to have muscles. Azalea's face twitched, her hand exploring her 'so-called pillow' and poking it with her hand.

"Who would know my wife was going this naughty in the early morning? Are you enjoying it?" Hearing a man's voice, Azalea instantly opened her eyes horrified. Seeing it was Adam staring at her with a sweet smile, Azalea remembered what happened last night, and her face relaxed a bit.

Embarrassed by her sleeping habits, she slowly withdrew her hand and leg from his body. 'How embarrassing!' She thought to herself.

"Good morning. How is your injury?" Azalea asked, clearing her throat.

Adam's eyes remained fixated on her, instead of answering he pulled her into his arms, "Never been better. Let's go out for breakfast then to the marriage register office." He replied, holding her close to his chest.

"But…your injury…" Azalea tried to speak up. It wasn't like she was planning to go back on her words but going out with those injuries was what she was worried about. She didn't wish her husband to die right after the registration.

"Not important. I have to tie down the feisty cat before it runs away again."
