When William woke up, it was already the morning of the next day.
Ann fell asleep on the other bed.
She was worried that something unexpected might happen at night, so she insisted on staying up. But Phillip forced her to sleep in the small hours.
William was still wearing an oxygen mask, so he couldn't speak. He slightly turned his head to the side.
