Sigrid, completely unaware of what the night would bring, wondered why George was suddenly asking her this question. She looked at him in confusion and waited to hear what he would say next.
Her limpid eyes watching him, George for the first time understood what it meant to be nervous. He thought about what he had originally prepared to say and had heard what Sigrid had said about not having a marriage proposal. So he simply stood up, went behind her, and took the flowers from the butler.
Following him, Sigrid turned around only to find that the butler was behind her. She looked down and her gaze landed on the bouquet of flowers that George was holding. Thinking again of what George had said just now, her heart started beating faster.
Could it be... as she guessed?
George turned around and let her see the small red box that was attached to the bouquet. Sigrid blushed for a second.
Was that... an engagement ring?
