Sweet Awakening

The world has been consistent for Gian. Aside from minor family issues, he is living a carefree life that he directs himself. Gian learned at a very young age how to manipulate situations to get what he wanted. Thinking things through before reacting or taking action is a habit for him now. With the help of his best friend, Riel, his high school life is how he wants it to be. His desires are pretty standard for anyone his age: girls, outfits, games, sports, and independence...until Alec came into his life, causing yearning, happiness, doubts, confusion, and a new awakening. He was introduced to new emotions and sensations foreign to him. How would anyone understand him when he doesn't understand himself? His wants, needs, and desires changed, and the norm that he knew didn't seem to fit him anymore. How does he handle this new emotion toward an unexpected person?

6♡Mission

By the end of the day, I found out Alec was in all my classes, and Jazi was only in my first and last class. I updated Riel with this info along with the other information I got sitting beside Alec. I told her that I now have a mission to make Jazi my girlfriend before we graduate.

"Are you going stupid? I told you that girl is already dating," Riel responds in an irritated manner.

"I know but fate is giving me a sign. It is giving me hope very clearly." I said as I motioned a straight path with my hands. "Look how Alec ended up sitting with us and being friendly with me.", I added.

"Plus, she may not be dating that girl. They could be just close friends. She has a bubbly personality and probably has tons of close friends."

Riel sounding frustrated stopped walking to look straight at me.

"You are seeing things that are not there and distorting signs to fit your agenda."

I made a disappointed face showing her I was not pleased with her lack of support. I walked ahead of her frustrated.

It is irritating when Riel isn't being supportive. Although there are very few times she is like this, it still upsets me. I find her almost perfect except for times we are not in synch and she's arguing with me. Our arguments are rare and I should be patient and understanding, however, I am stubborn most times.

I want a girlfriend before I graduate. I think Jazy is the one. She may be in a relationship but I take it as a challenge, plus, I do need to add some spice to my high-school life journey. I will be graduating this school year and still haven't experienced dating or kissing. My sweet lips are getting itchy.

Riel caught up to me and apologized. As many times I have wronged and apologized to Riel, I felt this time I am owed this apology. I nodded and placed my arms around her shoulder. "We are good, Neighbor."

Let's go change so we can leave for the mall."

We were a few steps away from the bathroom when we saw Alec standing by the bathroom checking his phone.

He saw us right away and flashed a smile.

"Hey! You got my name but I didn't get yours." He said with a big smile.

It is puzzling that after all the classes we had together, my name called for an attendance check loud enough that he still doesn't know my name.

Riel answered before I did, "Riel..."

Alec seemed amused. He smiled at Riel and then pointed at me.

"I meant you..."

Riel seemed annoyed and snapped at Alec.

"Is this where you hang out after class?"

Alec laughed. "Ahh no, I am waiting for my sister. She is inside changing. We are supposed to meet my girlfriend at the mall and then go to dinner."

I remained calm as I gave him my full name.

"Gian Carlo Gan. You can call me Gian."

I am cognizant that I can't show my enthusiasm hearing that they are going to the mall too but Riel knew.

"We are headed to the mall too to meet my sister," I calmly replied. "We plan to go out to dinner afterward but we haven't decided where yet."

Riel's jaw dropped and looked at me in shock. She knows I don't like to eat out with any member of my family so we normally go home after shopping.

I threw Riel a "be quiet" look. She knows what is happening but is still surprised at what I am doing.

Jazi came out of the bathroom and Riel greeted her and then updated her quickly. She then proceeded to the bathroom while yelling at me.

"Better go change!"

"Why don't we all meet for dinner then? My treat!" Alec said.

My strategy worked. Alec invited us to have dinner together. I have years of experience in manipulating conversation to go where I want it to go and I am happy it worked with Alec.

It is a rare occasion for me to be thankful to my sister but she deserves a free dinner tonight. My gratefulness towards my sister is due to her contribution to the success of my mission to be closer to Alec and Jazi.

Jazi was all bubbly and seemed excited telling Alec that it was a great idea.

Seeing Jazi wanting to hang with me too got me secretly excited.

"Great! I will be with Riel and my sister." I quickly answered Alec then excused myself to change.

"We will meet at XO restaurant at 7:30 then. I will reserve seats for all of us." Alec shouted as I entered the bathroom. I turned around and gave him a quick nod and a smile.

Ah yes!! I get to hang out with Jazi.....and Alec.
