Reclaiming the Land

Hayashi looked around at his teammates and then Yamaguchi and his team nodded and then starts to run. "Come on! Also, where's the officer guy?"

"Right here-" a foraging member had stopped the officer from firing his gun and jammed the bullet and grabbed the chamber and stabbed a mutant in the head.

"Shhh...don't fire that in here of all places, not even a silencer..." he turned the gun away from his direction and pointed it towards the roof of the subway.

"Y-You brat you jammed the-"

the foraging member covered his mouth "Shut up, shit!" He lets go. "Now get up, let's go." The foraging member gets up and starts walking away. "Or you can go back from the entrance. Your choice." He jogs to catch up to the co-op team.

"Is there anything else you need to know?" Hayashi was visibly blushing from the number of personal questions he answered but still had a straight face.

"Yeah, we still need to know your crush!"

"Don't be too loud, and I told you I don't have one, never did-"

"{Don't lie you sinful, dirty man! you dated one of the hottest girls in school!}" A combination of boys from both teams thought as he was being questioned to the point of interrogation.

"Quiet everyone, light ahead." Hayashi armed his slingshot and slowly approached the exit walking up being blinded by the sun then regained his vision, noticing this was a whole new part of town, still infested with zombies and mutants. Hayashi gained a different feeling, the feeling that these zombies were far more powerful than the weak ones he took down easily.

"Archery team...Kendo team..you know the drill...CHARGE!" Hayashi instructed his team as they charged while he laughed, the officer looked at him dumbfounded.

"W-who are you?...able to make High-schoolers like yourself charge into a hoard of monsters with no hesitation.."

"Since you came here with us, I'll leave you with my name. I am Hayashi Tetsu, Commander of this fair combat team" He introduced himself to the officer as he fired ammo from his slingshot hitting multiple zombies in the head as he watched his team massacre zombies like a small army."What are you doing Foraging team? Join in." Hayashi walked into the battlefield seeing his team cut down more zombies until they run into a stronger mutant they couldn't cut at, Hayashi ran towards the mutant as it swatted his teammates away and they landed and scattered in various positions, angering Hayashi.

"BASTARD!" Hayashi yelled, charging at the monster summoning his [Hornet Emperor] into his offhand. "[Chain Rush]!" he charged the monster which only screeched at him. "Shut up!" He slashed across the mutant's stomach only scratching the surface, looking back to see his teammates recovering. "{Buy a bit of time..}" he thought to himself. "Hey ugly! I'll play with you!"

he caught the attention of a large beast recalling what this beast was known as. "Ivory Gargoyle Golem...medium strength, high durability, has wings but no ability to fly...a normal one C2 level..." Hayashi armed the [Ronin] slingshot again with another buster round. "[Strong shot!]" Hayashi tried to shoot it at point-blank range and fails to penetrate the mutant's skin causing him to be hit by the wings of the Ivory Gargoyle.

"Ack!" He fell back then rolled to get up and charged again while enraged. "To anyone that recovered! Pick up your teammates and hide! No man left behind!" Hayashi still had time to command his team while he fights, however, some listened while others tried to fight with Hayashi, kendo, and archery members alike attacked however they could but could only make small scratches on the Ivory Golem. Arrows broke and blades only bounced off the golem's wings as it used them as shields and roared in fury as it ran for an archery member.

"AA-AHHH!!" He screams before getting tackled out the way by a kendo member.

"I got you!" The kendo member got off the archery member while helping him up

"Thanks, I owe you one! let's get this thing!" He said getting up and firing another arrow.

"Damn knuckleheads..." Hayashi mumbled to himself "But true comrades...[7 element Channeling]! [Elemental Attunement!]" Hayashi begins to glow as he rushes to summon his dual slingshot-daggers. "[Dagger Rush!]" Hayashi attacked multiple times, disobeying the control of the system and channeling the element of lightning into his strikes this time doing a bit more harm as the monster once again roars and attempts to swat Hayashi and escape.

"HRAAAA!" It roared now baring its fangs as it tried to claw Hayashi

"You hurt my team...I'll dismantle you down to your very soul! I won't let you return to the cycle of reincarnation!" Hayashi's eyes began to glow red instead and the aura of lightning disappeared and shadows formed in its place. "[Eye of the Hunter]!" He noticed that some of his teammates had sprained or sore body parts which impacted their weeklong mission, however, this made him even angrier, his anger turned to hate and the need to take revenge, as it scared the Ivory Gargoyle Golem into retreating without looking back.

"S-Scrreeee..."

"You hurt them..." Hayashi sprinted and rushed at his foe now that the lightning did enough damage to mark it. "Come here...[Dagger Rush]..." Hayashi suddenly attacked its back knocking it onto its knees. "You're really durable..." He started cutting and stabbing into its stone skin as it shrieked in pain. "You don't get to be in pain...Die. [Strong Shot]!" Hayashi charged up a strong Shot as it glowed black and red then he released it. A strong screech rang in the air as Hayashi fell off the Golem and panting as the aura vanished, Hayashi was out of energy, noticing a few combat members rushing to him and picking him up.

"H-Hey guys...what's up..?" He asked them as they picked him up and celebrated there.

"We did it! He did it!" the team celebrated while jumping up and down before the archery members noticed they were nearly out of arrows.

"We're almost out..." the archery team said showing their last few arrows

"[Harvest]..." Hayashi looted the golem as the body glowed and went into his hand and a system message appeared.

"PING!" TIME TO BREAK DOWN: 00:50:30

"Time to break down what..?" Hayashi asked as orbs containing resources flew into his hand, coming from the small part of town, the light coming from his hand was almost blinding. The light dimmed and snuffed out but gave people an exact beacon to where they were.

"Let's go...." Hayashi was carried away as the members of his combat team recovered their sight, a combat team member found Yamaguchi and his team inside a pharmacy looting everything in their duffle bags.

"Thanks for leaving us out there to die douches!" a combat team member called out to the entire foraging team.

"Relax dude, we're not built for fighting, we're scavengers, we take the leftovers of whatever was here that prove useful." A foraging member stepped up to the combat team.

"And? you guys were armed with daggers! You couldn't bother to help, or at least wait?" Fueki stepped up

"Wait for?" another foraging member stepped up

"Us to clear the building! Idiots! You could have been eaten by zombies if there were some in here!" Fueki ridiculed them

"Shut up all of you," Hayashi spoke up startling all of them as the Foraging team finished looting the place and Hayashi finished Harvesting the rest of the zombies.

"Alright bossman, what's the plan of action here?" an archery member asked Hayashi

"Yamaguchi?" Hayashi directed the attention off of him and to Yamaguchi

"W-well we found an area map...there may be survivors...but according to Akari-Senpai this is the border between us and the territory of normal people who adapted to the situation..."

"Well this is good...this may work to our advantage..." The former soldier mentioned. "but something doesn't add up..."

"What would that be?" Ichika asked

"What she said" Kenji chimed

"Lemme explains would you!" Hayashi sighs. "There may be someone like me, another holder of mysterious power.."

"Holder of mysterious power?" Kenji asked, this phrase as it made no sense to him.

"Mhm. Have you seen anyone able to harvest resources and take them out of thin air?"

"No...Not really..." Ichika and Kenji responded in unison.

"Right. So we need to get going." Hayashi said now getting out of the pharmacy and taking out his [Ronin] Slingshot-blade and looking at the sign leading to the next neighborhood. "[Eye of the Hunter]!" Hayashi thought of locking on to at least one person who was still alive as seeing his skill had reached a higher level had become a disadvantage at this state he canceled the skill soon after it was activated and put his hand over his eyes feeling dizzy. "That won't work..."

"What happened?" the rest of the two teams came out of the pharmacy and walked over to Hayashi.

"We need to clear the border, this is where we may work for the rest of the week, Foraging team, anything you can do about the power of the neighborhood?" Hayashi looked at the foraging team

"I- I can force reboot the generator..." A shy member stepped out from beyond his peers, holding his head down as he was intimidated by Hayashi's look.

"Alright then. Mizuki twins, sorry to trouble you again."

"It's no problem man, it's all good.." Kenji got next to the shy member

"{I don't even need to ask..} Combat team, let's clear the block!" Hayashi instructed

"HM!" The entire team responded in unison and they started to split into groups of 4 the boy Ichika and Kenji were guarding would force reboot any generator or breakers that were found in the area and the Foraging team would be instructed by Yamaguchi Botan, who seemed to be more assertive in his leadership than how he acted. Soon the entire block was cleared of zombies and Hayashi would harvest the zombies within range of his ability.

"[Wind...!]" A small girl's voice rang from a distance.

"Wind...?" Hayashi questioned before running towards the voice.

The small girl seemed to have heard Hayashi's footsteps as he advanced towards her now gaining sight of her appearance, a small girl, in a school uniform, with blond hair and red eyes. Hayashi stopped in his tracks noticing she was fighting zombies on her lonesome.

"[Wind Blade]!" The girl called out the skill as she also seemed to be holding a staff, but a small light seemed to be glowing from the top. The rest of the combat team finally caught up looking tired.

"Y-Your way too fast..." an archery member looked at Hayashi, The girl also looked at them and became far more cautious as she defeated the zombies and turned towards the combat team.

"[Wind Blade]!" She pointed her staff at Hayashi who still had [Ronin] in his hand and directed the attack at him.

"[Dagger Rush]!" Hayashi countered the wind blade with his own, and the force of the gust sends him flying into his teammates."Hwaaa!!"

"Who are you!?" The girl demanded their identities while threatening them with her staff

"Tch! Archers! Draw your arrows!" Fueki took command of the situation as Hayashi was sent barreling at her, thanks to some of the members breaking the impact and helping her catch Hayashi safely.

"Thanks all of you.." Hayashi gets on his feet and stands up again now looking at the girl who attacked him as he was about to speak Kenji stepped forward.

"Brat! Has your mother taught you no manners?" He put his swords in a defensive position while ridiculing the girl and trying to get her all riled up.

"Y-You! Argh! [Wind Blast!]" She turns her aim towards Mizuki Kenji as a large gust of compressed air was shot in his direction, he then moved in to attack with his swords when a small projectile suddenly whizzed past him and blew up the wind blast attack.

"Sorry Mizuki Kenji... stand down." Hayashi asked of him as the small projectile seemed to be a small buster sword carved from marble.

"How!? How can you even see my attack!? The wind is like an invisible bullet!"

"It's simple really...We're not so different, you and I." Hayashi revealed the full power of [Eye of the Hunter] as his pupils looked different and his eyes had a strong glow

"I...I thought I was the only one..." The girl began to panic as she was about to cast again but Hayashi stopped her with a [Strong Shot] attack.

"Relax, we come in peace. What's your name kid? I recognize your uniform from all girl's school" Hayashi noted trying to stop her from casting another spell

"Well, my name is..."
