What is this Creature?

"Squeak!" The creature jumped off the branch of the tree and walked towards Kai. it's crystal eyes gleamed in the sunlight through the trees.

"Woah there!" Kai said, as he backed away. "What do you want little guy?"

This creature is way too friendly. Kai thought it was very weird. The creature waltzed up to Kai, and jumped on his head.

"H-hey!" Kai protested. He grabbed the hairy rodent, and held it out facing towards his face. He thought the creature was kind of ugly, but now that Kai examined it up close, it was kind of cute. It's ginger fur was also strangely soft.

"Squeeek!"

"Okay, I'll put you down then." Kai protested.

"SQUEEAK!"

Right as it was plopped back on the ground, the creature jumped right back ontop of Kai's head.

"What is your problem!?" He cried. He tried to pull the creature off his wavy brown hair. "Stop this!"

Kai used nebula to remove the creature from on top of his head and he elevated it high in the air, keeping the creature there.

"SQUEEEK!" The creature cried.

"Look. If you want to be put down, you need to stop being clingy." Kai advised. "I don't even know what your problem is or what you are."

"Squeeeeeak."

"I'll take that as a yes." Kai said. He proceeded to lower the rodent creature back to the ground. The creature gave him sad eyes, but it didn't phase Kai.

"Now I'll be going. Do whatever you want, just don't follow me." Kai added. "I can't really trust you."

"Squeeeeeaakk," the creature replied. It seemed pretty sad. Still though, it was way too suspicious being that friendly to Kai.

He turned away to venture deeper into the jungle, leaving the creature behind.

The squeaks and squeals from the creature faded as he walked away. While he walked through the underbrush, he could feel little bugs hitting his skin. They were everywhere, although they didn't seem like a threat. Just an annoyance.

He eventually spotted something shiny and sparkly on a leaf. It interested Kai. He walked up to it and examined closer.

"Huh, interesting." He whispered. The forest was strangely peaceful right now. Especially now that the the light of the sun was darkening, as the day was ending. What he saw on the leaf was a tiny rainbow caterpillar. Kai thought it was cool, mostly because he was bored.

He then heard a huge explosion from the sky, and looked up. There were super dark clouds rolling in, and they were starting to block the sun. Lightning was striking from the clouds.

It looked like there was going to be a storm.

"W-wait... Not this again." He exclaimed. He stopped dead in his tracks. "Is that thing back for me because I survived that storm it made from earlier!?"

He shifted from fear. Kai's last experience from a "storm" gave him slight ptsd.

"No," he replied to himself. "It's just a normal storm. It can't be anything else."

"BOOOM"

The sound of thunder emanated through his ears.

"Well, I guess I should take shelter," Kai said. "It looks like it's going to rain pretty hard."

It might even hail. He didn't know how long it would last either. At the thought, he ran to a thicker area of underbrush. While he was running, mostly out of fear, he noticed a shadowy figure and a pair of eyes with slitted pupils behind a tree. It stared at him.

It wasn't the most important thing on Kai's list, so he decided to ignore it.

"I just need to get to safety first." He thought to himself.
