Kai lifted into the air with nebula by creating a cloud under himself. The sun shined on his light pale skin. He brought the lizardman in the air with him.
"You'll never find them!" The lizardman hissed. "The village is hidden by a magic barrier!"
There was a long pause. He looked wide-eyed at what he himself had said. "W-wait ignore what I just said!"
"You really have a big mouth." Kai mused. He chuckled to himself.
The lizardman grunted and struggled once more, but to no avail of escape. He sighed and closed his eyes in defeat.
Kai proceeded to head westward. The sun was slowly setting. He probably had around 5 hours or so before it became dark. He watched the trees pass by below. It was strange being in the air. He never knew he would be doing this 5-6 years ago.
He thought to himself. He remembers the voice saying how Cosmic Magic was one of the 6 "Primordial Magic Elements." If that's true, then every other element of magic branched off from it. When he was using Cosmic Magic, he always felt a strange tingle. Like a sensation that connected him to a source. With a forest of many monsters, much of which have magical powers, he would definitely feel a connection at all times.
That means he could maybe find the source of whatever was creating that magical barrier! But he had to do it quick, because he was slowly getting tired. He estimated just under an hour.
There was one problem though. He didn't know how to detect something specific.
After a while of thinking, he realized he could just try to concentrate on the biggest magic source. It sounded like a good idea.
He proceeded to close his eyes.
"Strongest source." He repeatedly whispered.
"Strongest source."
"Strongest source!"
"Ahah!" He cheered, opening his eyes. "I found it!"
It was right of him about a mile away.
As he was headed towards it, Kai remembered his school teaching about the the fire, earth, water, and air elements. They said that those were the 4 main elements. They never said anything about "Cosmic Magic," and "primordial magic elements." He thought that was really strange.
Furthermore, there were 5 other primordial magic users that he still needed to locate. He had no clue how that would work. It was all a strange jumble of problems to him.
It took Kai a lot shorter amount of time to get to the spot of the magic source than expected.
He looked down, he saw nothing.
"Huh, strange," He stated. He lowered around 20 feet to the ground, so he was now about 30 feet in the air. He still saw nothing.
He looked at the lizardman who was right next to him. He seemed really nervous and jittery.
That means he probably found the spot, so where is the village?
He looked back at the ground mostly covered by trees.
"Maybe they are living in the trees?" Kai wondered. He shook his head. "No, that wouldn't make sense. There would still be paths and slightly less trees.
The underbrush seemed way too thick where he was.
As he was looking at the ground, he felt a wave of dizziness.
"W-what!?" He gasped. The ground was starting to distort. He got way to tired and dizzy all the sudden. He thought he had at least 30 minutes left.
He staggered and put his hand on his head.
"W-why am I so dizz-"
"H-Hey what ar-" The lizardman's voice slowly faded.
Kai fainted. The Nebula ability deactivated and he plummeted to the ground.
