Resilience

"Alright, bring him to me," the darker green lizardman announced.

Kai looked to his left and right. Karla backed closer to him.

The other lizardman guards closed in on him and Karla. There silver armour shined bright in the sun.

Karla started to panick.

"Please! What did I do!"

Kai was curious how she got captured, but that was a question for later.

They grabbed Kai and Karla By the arm. Karla was squirming trying to desperately escape.

"PLEASE! LET ME GO! KAI, HELP ME!"

She started crying, tears streaming down her face and onto the ground.

Kai kept a straight face. He wanted to see where they would take him and Karla. Her crying and terror is worth it in his mind..

They walked them down to the end of the road, where there was a decently sized courtyard. The audience followed.

When they got there, the lizardman guards dragged them onto the hard tile of the courtyard.

Other two guards held them down to the ground of it, while the other lizardman guards put heavy shackles on their arms and legs. They had a harder time putting it on Karla because she was kicking and screaming.

"Why are you doing this!" She tried to stand up, but the shackles were made out of some really heavy metal.

They backed away 10 feet from them, where 2 other guards took their place, holding long swords. Kai looked to the croud. They seemed to have quadrupled since they were first fully apprehended. They all looked so high and mighty. It was as if they were telepathically speaking to him saying "This is what you deserve!"

Karla kept struggling, but to no avail. "PLEASE! SOMEBODY HELP!"

He thought she was a bit dramatic, but in the end she was a little kid. He did feel a bit bad, but his stupid idea to surprise the lizardmen when they least expected it was still in play.

The darker green lizardman stepped behind them onto a pedestal and cleared his throat.

Karla was still screaming and crying. Kai managed to turn his head enough just to see the lizardmen that was about to give a "awe-inspiring speech" probably according to the lizardmen in the village. He gave the lizardman a death stare, but he ignored it.

The lizardman cleared his throat. "Today we gather here today to execute these humans who have commited treason. We have been missing 2 guards and the bars to the bunker cell has dissapeared. That only means one thing everyone. THESE HUMANS SOMEHOW KILLED SALKSEN AND JORKEL!

The crowd roared in anger.

Kai looked back to the croud with a blank stare.

Karla was just crying.

When the crowd dialed down, The lizardman at the pedestal started to speak again.

"Now, this attrocious act can only be repented by one thing."

The crowd stool in silence.

"And that thing is..... DEATH!"

The crowd roared in celebration. All the lizardman in the crowd started to jump, including the kids.

Karla screamed and kicked even harder.

Kai lowered his head and closed his eyes. He was ready to activate cosmic magic at any second. he was so excited to see everyone's faces when he decimates this village.

He furrowed his brow. He was starting to get second thoughts though. He asked himself questions like "What if some of the lizardman don't resent humans?" "What if some are innocent?" He shook his head. He would worry about later, he still wanted to decimate the village.

The lizardman at the pedestal spoke again.

"Now guards, ready the swords."

Karla began to scream even harder.

"NO!

"PLEASE"

"SOMEBODY!"
