"Well," the lizardman replied. "If you want me to name some, the purple ones are Ganyag, the orange ones are Mikors, the red ones are Gomons, and the yellow ones are Cawron. Of course there are plenty more kinds of fruits and vegetables, but that would take a while to name. Of course we also have the grains like brown rice, and wheat."

There were lots of different colors in those fields. The Ganyag they were talking about looked like a eggplant, but with pretty rough skin. The Mikors looked exactly like oranges but with small spikes, the gomans looked like tomatoes but with more pineapple shape, and the Cawron looked like corn, except the colors were more green. Although he was surprised that amidst all those strange produce, they were growing basic grains that he would ordinarily eat like wheat and brown rice.

Now that he thought about it, he hadn't ever really gotten hungry after obtaining cosmic magic. Not yet at least.

He saw some leaves poking out of the field, which was probably either carrots, some kind of starch like potatoes or yams, or both.

"Okay then, what about the livestock," Kai asked. He pointed to the pen holding the animals.

The lizardman flicked his tail to signal Kai to follow him. "Over here are the Brontos."

"Is this the only livestock you have?" He asked.

"Yes sir," the lizardman answered. "Our tribe is omnivorous, but we focus more on crops. The brontos just produce milk and some beef for us."

He furrowed his brow in irritation. Having the same meat over and over again sounded lame. Then again its not like he would eat any of it because he still wasn't hungry. But he did miss the taste of food over the past few days so maybe it would be best if he ate something anyways.

"What's wrong sir?" The lizardman asked.

Kai took a deep breath. "It's nothing."

Kai noticed the lizardman he was talking to had interesting patterns on his scaly body, and the pattern was kind of replicated on the leggings he was only wearing. Interweaving lines of gold yellow scales that ended in swirls contrasted the green. It took him a strange amount of time to notice.

"Are those tattoos on your body?" He asked.

"What are tattoos?" The lizardman said. He looked at his shoulder, were the pattern was more concentrated.

"Oh, you mean the ability mark?"

"Ability mark, whats that?" Kai asked.

"It's an indicator of talent towards a certain affinity of magic," the lizardman said. "It's mildly rare at around a 15 percent chance at birth."

"Sooooo, then whats your affinity of magic?"

"Oh, just basic fire. But some get really powerful affinities, like our mage that died 10 years ago. He had an affinity for light."

"Ah, good to know," Kai said. He chuckled a bit. "Man you guys have really opened up to me!"

The lizardman averted his gaze from Kai.

Maybe that wasn't a good move to remind them. He cringed a bit. Kai could imagine Karla punching him in the gut right now.

He breathed in. "Ahhh, anyways thank you for informing me."

"Yeah, no problem sir. The farmers are getting to work now, would you like me to guide you back home? I can read it all over your face."

"Yeah I would like that."

Satisfied for now, Kai headed back towards the village, his escorts showing him the way.

When he got back to the village they seemed to of returned a different path from which they left for the crop fields, because all the buildings and roads were different. It made sense because the walk back was a bit longer than the walk there.

He observed the damage left by his raging inferno two days prior - charred tree trunks, collapsed dwellings, small pathways blocked by debris. It would take a few more weeks to clear away all the destruction and rebuild. But the lizardfolk were already hard at work, their natural strength and stamina allowing them to haul heavy timbers and lift stone. Kai reminded himself to check on their progress later.

"Why did we come back a different way?" Kai asked the lizardman with the fire affinity.

"It's to reduce foot traffic. Theres no point in hiding our agriculture fields if tribes can see pathways to them. It's also to reduce scents, because lizardman have a good sense of smell."

He facepalmed. "Right, right, my mistake."

"Soooo, how do I get to the entrance of the path leading to the field? I have no clue where in town I am. I want to meet Karla if you know who she is."
