Journey to Power

Pieces of debris lay on the ground. The cold wind of dawn blew against Kai's face. The monsters that resided in the rainforest around him seemed to be alarmed. There were many odd sounds like chirps, barks, howling, roars and squeals.

"There is no way I just did that!" Kai hollered. "With all these evil monsters, will I be able to defeat them now?" He scratched his head.

He decided to examine the crater he had just made. As he approached, he could see the leaves around him rustle, and everything was kind of silent. Almost as if the creatures are running away from him.

"Yeah, be scared stupid monsters!" He shouted at the rainforest.

As he approached the crater, he noticed it to be decently large. Maybe around 400 feet in diameter. In the middle resided the asteroid he just sent down from space. There was steam still coming out of it.

Kai stared at it wide-eyed. He thought for a moment. 𝐼𝑓 𝑡𝘩𝑖𝑠 𝑖𝑠 𝑎 𝑡𝑖𝑒𝑟 1 𝑚𝑎𝑔𝑖𝑐 𝑠𝑝𝑒𝑙𝑙, 𝘩𝑜𝑤 𝑝𝑜𝑤𝑒𝑟𝑓𝑢𝑙 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑡𝘩𝑒 𝘩𝑖𝑔𝘩𝑒𝑟 𝑡𝑖𝑒𝑟𝑠?

While he was standing there awestruck, he heard thumps, as if a huge monster was walking towards him. Kai looked in the direction it was coming from, with a serious expression. "Is it a monster?" He said to himself. The boom was rhythmic, and was very consistent with each sound.

He stood there in shock, unable to think clearly. "S-should I run?" He said to himself.

"No," Kai uttered. He looked at the huge crater he had just made. "Whatever it is, I can defeat it with cosmic magic!"

He proceeded to stand his ground. The booms became very loud, almost as if the world was shaking from every sound it made. There seemed to be a disturbance in the Jungle around him. The usual sounds the animals and monsters made were completely silent.

"DU DU Duhh, I wonder what I can hunt today!" A mysterious voice boomed from in the forest.

Kai took a step back. "It's talking?" The atmosphere seemed tenser.

All of the sudden, a huge figure appeared out of the lush greenery. It looked like a huge troll, with grey skin and red eyes. The troll stood 25 feet tall.

"Ooooh, a human... that could go well in my soup!" The humongus troll said, looking down on Kai.

Kai took another step back, and grabbed the spear from his back.

"Who are you!?" Kai screamed, pointing the spear at the troll. He was generally a fearless guy. But against this, he was utterly terrified.

"Ooooh, is this a petty human trying to defend itself?" The giant troll exclaimed. He took a giant step forward to Kai. "Seeing you suffer will make Mozo happy!"

"W-what did you say!?" Kai screamed. He gritted his teeth.

"Didn't you hear me silly human?" The troll, who was named "Mozo" said. He licked his dry lips. "Making you suffer will make Mozo happy! Then I can eat you!"
