"You came over here just to hang out?" Kai asked. He was extremely confused, and it didn't seem logical at all.

Narcen nodded. "Yeah, that's about it."

That takes lonely to another level.  Kai thought to himself.

It was beginning to rain so hard that water was leaking out of the sea of leaves above them. A drop of rain fell directly into Kai's eye while looking upwards which made him rub it real hard.

"I get that it's a rainforest, but it comes so randomly and it ends up raining for days straight," kai spoke. "I don't get it."

Narcen flicked his tongue. "Usually when it rains, it doesn't stop for 4 days on average."

Kai looked at Narcen with wide eyes. "Seriously?"

Narcen nodded. "Mhm. We just deal with it."

The last time it rained while Kai was in the forest, it was for around 3 days. He thought that was a lot on it's own. But 4 days on average? Average? It's seriously unbelievable.

Karla seemed pretty surprised too.

"Do you know why it does that?" Karla asked. "It doesn't sound natural."

Narcen raised his hand up and picked off some scrap meat from of his claws. "Don't have a clue. Wish I did though. Where you guys lived, wasn't it this rainy for you?"

Kai's and Karla's "No" resonated at the same time.

Narcen looked away and made a low growl that seemed to convey curiosity.

Karla got up from her spot under the tree and walked out of the tree's canopy. She looked back at Kai and Narcen and wagged her finger genturing for them to follow.

"Come on!" She said. "The rain seems to be letting up a bit, let's visit the marketplace!"

Kai yawned. "I'm a bit tired, why don't we just stay here a bit longer?"

Narcen chimed in. "I don't care either way."

Karla furrowed her brow. "Come on, lets just go do it before the rain intensifies again."

Kai sighed and sat there for a few moments zoning out. Karla stayed where she was and waited patiently for an answer.

"Fine. I'll do it," Kai replied.

"Let's go," Narcen said.

They both got up and followed Karla. She seemed to know where she was going, and Narcen wasn't pointing out anything to her, so he seemed to of known about here knowledge about the village's layout.

When they got to the market place, the rain was very light. It felt nice at that point. Business stalls line the crowded streets, overflowing with goods and wares. Fishmongers call out the fresh catch of the day, holding up large salmon and trout. The lizardman of this village never told Kai about a river or body of water nearby, so he was planning to find out where that was at some later date.

Farmers were arranging pyramids of colorful fruits and vegetables, freshly picked from the fields. The tangy scent of various spices and aromas fill the air as merchants measure out portions of cinnamon, saffron, pepper, and other things unknown things to Kai.

Karla's eye lit up at the sight. She pointed at the general direction of everyone.

"Isn't this amazing!?" She asked. "Everything here is exciting!"

Kai wasn't as amused as Karla. Neither was Narcen but they were still quite intrigued.

Karla immediately ran off somewhere into the marketplace, leaving Kai and Narcen behind.

Kai was confused yet again. What was the point of bringing us here and wondering off when you could've just came here alone?

Kai sighed faced towards Narcen. "Well, You wanna explore a bit too?"

"Gives us something to do, so sure."

The lizardfolk gave Kai strange looks as he passed. But it was a step up from the hateful or fearful looks he used to get.

The first stall they came up to sold jewelry. The vendor was old, with slightly shriveled scales and dim coloration compared to most others. He jumped with surprise when he saw Kai.

"H-hello there my lord," He said in a raspy voice. "Would you like anything today? I'd be happy to give it to you for free."

Kai waved his hand in dismissal. "No, we are just here to look around."

"O-oh, then g-go right ahead sir."

He thought it was cool how quick word travelled when he took over the village. Practically everyone in the village knew he was their leader now.

Kai pointed at a dark azure gem in amazement. "That one is pretty, wow."

Narcen made a strange growl that seemed to convey awe. "I've never seen anything like this before. It isn't very grand, but it looks beautiful."

He looked at the vendor. "Who made this?"
