"What?!"
The knights and William shouted at the same time after Ayla said she saw Ubel in her vision.
They were aware that the vision she saw was a gigantic catastrophe for mankind, according to her. A man they had found around the area where she said that the calamity was supposed to be appear, was seen by Ayla in her vision. That was far too suspicious.
After Ayla recalled her vision, she once again looked towards the man in front of her.
In front of her was the man, who was referred to as the Overlord of Madness by the Mother of Magic and the Lord of Genesis in the future that she saw. The man, whose actions would result in deaths of many people.
Ubel appeared confused outwardly, however, after hearing the conversation the father and daughter had just now, he could figure out some things.
First, from how she talked about a vision about a calamity, it seems like she was a prophet of some kind.
Second, she said that the calamity was supposed to appear around this place. Which if he looked a little closer appeared to be very close to the bloody city he first appeared in.
Third, she stated that she saw him in his vision about the calamity.
In conclusion, he was in deep trouble. He was far too suspicious right now and there was a possibility they would get rid of him on the spot.
He was just pondering what to do if they decided to check his background when this kind of problem appeared.
Ubel didn't even know what happened to him and where the hell he was.
Yes, he knew he was in the Gredia Empire. Yes, there was a noble with the surname Ruthergett.
However, the Ruthergett he remembered did not have their own territory and they were only a Barony, while William appeared to be more highly ranked with a territory. Plus, Baron Ruthergett was not William and he had no daughter named Ayla.
And now he had to deal with this. Just great.
The knights and William waited for Ayla to say something, while Ubel was rapidly thinking about what to do.
In the mean time, Ayla was thinking about Ubel too. She recalled everything she learned about him and the situation of the world from that vision.
There was one thing that had really caught her attention was that there was a war between the Gredia Empire and the Kingdom of Ezoviel.
How did that happen? Why did that happen?
In the moment the Gredia Empire and the Kingdom of Ezoviel had good relations. They had a trading alliance between them right now and they still had goodwill left from the alliance of the War of the New Age.
A war wouldn't occur between them unless for a big situation like the Crown Prince being killed or something like that.
Ayla set aside that thought. She couldn't figure it out without any leads.
She next thought about the man in front of her.
He had participated in that war and probably played a big part.
He had earned the nickname 'Overlord of Madness' at some point.
He was super strong, to the point of overpowering the Mother of Magic and the Lord of Genesis and maybe even killing them, without any scratch on him.
He had some connection with Count Achlys. It appeared it was something negative to him, as the Mother of Magic stated that Count Achlys' treatment of him may have been the cause of him being so twisted.
Also, he was insane
He was really insane.
He was willing to do anything in order to 'gain happiness', as he stated. To her it sounded like he just wanted to satisfy his sick desires.
It would probably be for the best if she explained to her father what kind of person he could become and have him killed, but...
"He was a victim of the catastrophe too." Ayla sadly said.
Now Ubel was genuinely confused. All of the development towards this point pointed to him being the 'catastrophe' she was talking about, but it seems it wasn't so.
But this worked in his favor, so he didn't mind, of course.
"Oh, I see..." William put down his hand that was ready to order the knights to execute Ubel and they secretly lowered their weapons.
Gille looked towards Ubel with pity and said:
"If he is in Young Lady's vision, that means that he is probably one of the biggest victims."
After Gille said that, the others, with the exception of Grant, who just softened his glare towards Ubel a little, looked towards Ubel with pity too.
"Don't you worry, you two. I will expend every last of the Ruthergett house's power to prevent this calamity! I will also send a request for support to the royal family. They wouldn't ignore Ayla's vision and Margrave Ruthergett." William reassured Ayla and Ubel.
It seems that William was a Margrave. Way different than what Ubel remembered.
"Yes, father. I will do my best too." Ayla said as she looked towards Ubel, while smiling.
He smiled at her too, while wondering what exactly she saw. Ubel thought that she looked towards him to reassure him, because he was supposedly a victim of the calamity in her vision.
"By the way, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Ayla Ruthergett. It's a pleasure to meet you." Smilingly, she offered her hand for a handshake.
Ubel was a little shocked she did that, because normally only nobles of equal ranks shook each other's hands. Of course, her being a daughter of a Margrave and him supposedly being a commoner meant they weren't equal at all.
He glanced a little towards the knights before he took any further actions. They appeared resigned. It seems that both the daughter and the father didn't really pay attention to normal etiquette.
"I am Allan. It's a pleasure to meet you too, Lady Ayla." He shook her hand and said while smiling as well.
"Now, how about we return to Lathe and you explain to us what you exactly saw in your vision later, Ayla?"
"Okay, father." Ayla nodded and followed her father towards the carriage.
