Chapter 222: Turning the Tables

"Wan Nianbei is dead." Lin Miao saw Lin Shen and couldn't hold back any longer, bursting into tears.

"What happened? I saw him a few days ago, and he was fine." Lin Shen hurried over to comfort Lin Miao.

"Ascension failed, only this incomplete Spirit Base is left." Lin Miao sobbed as she recounted what had happened.

"Maybe it's fate." Lin Shen was about to say something to console Lin Miao when Lei knocked on the door from outside.

"Master, the Wan Family people have come and would like to see you. There are a lot of them, and something seems off," Lei said.

"What do they want?" Lin Shen couldn't help frowning.

Wiping the tears from her face, Lin Miao stood up and said, "Regardless, they are his family. You go entertain them first. I'll change my clothes and tidy up, then I'll be right out."

"Alright." Lin Shen stood up and went to the living room first.
