While the raid of the isolated village in the dense forest was taking place there was one of the villagers had left to explore the outside world for themselves. Finding it interesting and wanting to learn more about overtime. Just to see what was outside of what they had grown up around as the only view there was the forest and the deep valley that exist on both sides of it.

'Probably the time I think about going back home now' the villager thought.

They had explored enough for now and were starting to get homesick. They did not want to stay in the world outside of their village but merely visit the outside world from time to time. Never venturing too far from their home nor making any real connection to anyone while they were there.

Just going around exploring and only interacting with people as much as they needed to when it came to places to stay. Things were most certainly interesting but in the end, the world outside his village was. It was a place they would like to visit for the novelty but had no desire to stay and live out in it. Their home was their village and that was where they wanted to stay as it had everything they wanted. Minus the few times of just wanted a change of scenery and nothing more than that. Though as they were walking back to where he was staying at the moment he overheard something.

"Did you hear about how that one strange forest all of sudden burned down and that at the end up was the ruins of what seemed to be a village?" the first town resident said.

"Wait why would there be ruins of a village in the back as there should have been anything back there at the end of the forest at all" the second town resident replied.

"I did say ruins the places probably been abandoned and wiped out with that forest became so dangerous in the first place. Who could really live that the end of that death trap of a forest anyway" the first town resident told them?

While they were listening to this through mere chance as they were walking by. The resident of that village named Rangi kept on walking but stopped at a distance where they were able to pick up on the entire conversation without drawing attention to himself nor giving off the impression that he was eavesdropping dropping on them either

'The forest was burned while the village was discovered and destroyed' Rangi thought as he walked back to the two locals 'Now I really have to high tail it out here and try lowing low about for awhile'.

Worried not so much about his family which he actually did not have at least not his biological one that is. An orphan for as long as he could recall the only family he did have was his friends and their parents that helped in raising him all these years since then. However, he was opting not to run back home as fast as he could. After all, if he did return home who to say that an ambush would not be waiting for him when he got there

Though getting there from here might be the right thing for him to do. However, what worried him was going all the way there just to be trapped on his way out with those he had managed to save. Worse yet showing up and make so they can not get away from the remains of the village. The forest could not be used to provide them cover as it was apparently burned down. The monsters and creatures that lived there were average of Rangi and those of the village. Although he would learn from everyone else they were abnormally strong for this region it seems.

If the forest could not be used as a means to cover their escape then it is possible that they would attempt to use the deep valley as means to do so. It was not known what was at the bottom of the valley itself as nothing thrown into it ever seemed to hit the bottom for some reason. Throw a rock in and no matter how long you wait you would never hear it hit the bottom.

Though worse come to worse, it might be possible just to hang on the side off the edge at a level where they can not be seen but still can climb back up once the coast was cleared. If Rangi recalled correctly there were ventures into the valley at one point to see just what might lie in its depths. One that was abandoned over time but the leftovers of those expositions might still be craved into the valley side on the way down. Perfect place for someone or a small group to hide for the time being.

Getting what little he had with him during his travels and leaving behind what he could not carry with him as it would merely slow him down at this point. Rangi left without a goal of where to go other than anywhere but home. Though he did not want to go through with this it was probably best if he just left this region entirely as then he would not have to worry about the one that controls this region as much.

Once he crossed over into another region then the rulers of this one would need a good reason to enter into another. It was this red tape that Rangi was hoping would aid him in his escape. He might have been from an isolated village but after leaving it he was made aware that there are various regions and that are all ruled over by various groups of people. Each one had its own rules and regulations that had to be followed.

One thing that he had forgotten while he was leaving was his guild member's card which would work out to his benefit in the long run. That card would have allowed others to track him in fact that is how someone managed to find his last known location through the tracking of his guild member's card he had made.

This merely gave him a head start as despite this the ones now after he was still able to guess his next few moves in general thus allowing them to give chase even though he was not carrying the card on him anymore.

This chapter would be the start of Rangi's story
