Chapter 17

After getting told to go check out the nearby town that what she was going to do on her own. Things were that difficult for her to do so anymore as she was able to act on her own apart from Let cause of the training that they were put through but their owner Rangi. 

It was different than what her instinct was telling the both of them originally that they were a single being split in two, thus they act as one with two bodies. However, there was a smaller instinct at first that told them differently than they were as Rangi instructed them to be. Two of them were created as a pair that they were a set, not a singular one that had become two.

Since their owner's desire and will were something that trumped their own, they decided to listen to the smaller instinct that when along with him rather than the one that did not. The results of this choice even if he was not fully aware of them having made because neither felt he needed to know about the choice they had made since he was very clear on the made that they were not to act as one person that merely has to manage two bodies at once.

Gau was getting close to the town as she could not without being spotted by anyone. Be it another person, sentient weapon, and/or their user to her current knowledge at least.  Given she was a sentient weapon herself she did not need to go that far to do so however there was something that she did need to do to carry out her plan to see Rangi's orders through.

'Requesting more control over our sight' Gau asked

Though Gau and Let accepted that they were a pair that were linked together and made up a sentient weapon that way. Rather than any other way that would be counter to what Rangi wanted. There were things that they were still able to do that gave them the benefits of that set up though. The idea is that they gained the positives that exist as their sense was pooled and split between them as they did not split them fifty-fifty in the sense that the total was one hundred. Instead hundred was fifty-fifty for them and the total amount was actually two hundred. They did have two bodies after all rather than one body that split into two. 

The first thing Gau and Let learned to do was to split their shared senses into an equal amount that allowed them both to have half at all times. Which is what allows them to act on their own rather than one of them having complete control of time. Thus they were only able to act and/or speak one at a time at first.

'I am doing my own thing over here so I can not give up that much you know' Let informed her

'I know I know but I just need enough to see to the town without getting any closer than I already am' Gau told her

Sighing Let agreed offering up enough control over their sight to boost Gau's so that she could see the town from her current spot as requested.

'Make it quick as I do not want to be unable to continue looking out for threats to our owner any more than needed' she told her

That is what Gau did as she used her currently enhanced sight to look at the town at a distance that normally would not have been possible for her or just another sentient weapon in general unless this was their specialty or unique skill they posed 

From this, she was able to get a look at those standing at the gates looking over those that entered, and anyone that looked as if they had something they were not supposed to be stopped, turned away, or just start up ran away. Seemingly they were not on the lookout for them in general but this was just a routine checking process that the town was going through. That doing it was a part of the requirement for them to enter into the town at all.

Having gathered up enough information about the town for now Gau gave back what she borrowed for Let and then returned to where Rangi was waiting. Then the plan to enter the town was created from there using them being stored in the pattern that would appear on Rangi's hand as the means to basically smuggle them into town unnoticed.

Though in the short burst in which they were stored inside the pattern, nothing happened to them as they were in there for a prolonged period when their ability to be aware of their surroundings started to fade as they seemed to pass out and lose consciousness for the time being. Just remained in this state until they were awakened by Rangi long after he had brought them out. Having came out in their weapon form this time and remained seemingly inactivate until they came too when they did inside their room in the inn he had found to stay in.
