Noa led his friends to the road beside the silver bridge, and they descended towards the water area. Blue and Cloud followed closely behind.
They approached the Floating Stadium, a remarkable piece of biomimetic architecture designed to seamlessly integrate with the natural world and offer an environmentally-friendly solution for large-scale events.
A vast and impressive structure floated on the horizon, leaving them in awe as they gazed upon the stadium.
As they drew closer, they noticed that it consisted of interconnected modules, each one meticulously designed to resemble different marine organisms in both form and function.
Some resembled giant sea urchins, with spiny shells that effectively deflected waves and provided protection during storms. Others had a sleek, streamlined design reminiscent of dolphins, optimizing the stadium's performance in the water by reducing drag.
Upon reaching the stands, they found themselves surrounded by a combination of glass and metal. They took their seats, appreciating the view.
"How did you discover this place?" So-Rin asked while settling into her chair.
"I spotted it from above during the battle. I got curious and wanted to see it in a closer distance, so I brought you guys here,," Noa replied.
"This place looks good," Eden remarked.
So-Rin nodded in agreement, adding, "Agreed. It's the perfect location to celebrate victory."
Noa glanced around and noticed a water polo match taking place in the central pool of the structure.
The pool itself was crafted in the shape of a giant jellyfish, its tentacles stretching out and encircling the stands. The water within had undergone a meticulous filtration and purification process, combining natural and mechanical methods to ensure the safety of both the players and the surrounding aquatic life. Many of the creatures had undergone mutations, transforming into vibrant and colorful beings, some even capable of surviving in non-saline water.
Noa was captivated by the variety of species that had adapted to the extraordinary environment fostered by the floating building.
The game unfolded with great intensity as players darted across the pool, striving to score points while deftly evading the jellyfish's tentacles.
The group of three settled into their seats, engrossed in the unfolding match. Eden and So-Rin passionately cheered for the blue team, while Noa found himself supporting the red team.
"It looks fun to play water polo in the pool. I want to join them," So-Rin remarked, before continuing to cheer for her favorite team.
Noa chuckled and replied, "Well, first, you'll need to learn how to swim, So-Rin."
Eden nodded in agreement, adding, "And it's not just about swimming; you also need to navigate through the water fast while carrying the ball."
So-Rin pouted, "Well, it doesn't hurt to say I want something, does it? Besides, I still know how to float in water."
Noa chuckled. "Well, that's a good start, So-Rin. Who knows, some time later, we can all learn how to play water polo together."
They resumed watching the game, immersed in the echoing sounds of splashing water and the enthusiastic cheers of the audience reverberating throughout the stadium.
All the players were clad in specially designed suits, enabling them to navigate through the water with more ease. The ball they played was freshly pumped with air before the game to ensure its quality.
The stadium's ingenious design minimized the impact of both the players and the game on the surrounding environment. Because its sea urchin modules absorbed the force of the waves, safeguarding against erosion and protecting them.
As the game reached its end, the red team emerged victorious, triggering a resounding wave of cheers and applause throughout the stadium.
"Wow, my chosen team came out on top!"
Noa cheered with the rest of the crowd, feeling a satisfying sense of accomplishment for having chosen the winning team.
He glanced at Eden and So-Rin, both of whom wore bright smiles and joined the applause.
"Great call, Noa. Your choices are always spot on," Eden congratulated Noa with a pat on the shoulder.
"Ouch, Eden. I have an injury there," Noa complained exaggeratedly.
"Oh, wait. I forgot about your injury," Eden quickly retracted his hand.
Noa shook his head, reassuring him, "It's alright. The pain has subsided. I was just messing with you"
So-Rin turned to Noa with concern, "Are you sure you're okay, though? We can head back to the apartment and let you rest if you need to."
"No, it's fine. Some fresh air and watching the water polo game is doing me good. Besides, I don't want to spoil our celebration," Noa replied with a smile.
After the game concluded, the audience began to leave their seats and exit the stadium. The trio soon stood up as well.
As they made their way out of the building, Noa felt a surge of euphoria. The vibrant atmosphere of the stadium and the infectious energy of the crowd left him still feeling hyped. As if they had been floating, enjoying a sense of relaxation.
"Today was absolutely incredible," So-Rin exclaimed while walking alongside Noa. "It's so much fun!"
Eden nodded in agreement, adding, "Those players are really skilled."
Noa chimed in, "It's like they were dancing. It's a sport but they looked really graceful."
"Absolutely," Eden concurred.
Engrossed in their conversation about the game, they strolled through the bustling streets. Even as the sun began its descent, casting a warm glow over the city, the entire area remained bustling with activity. Gradually, the crowds thinned as people began to make their way home.
Noa looked around, taking in the vibrant sights and sounds of the city. Futuristic architecture adorned the landscape, with towering skyscrapers illuminated by neon lights.
Feeling more refreshed, Noa expressed gratitude for the time spent with his friends. The game they had watched together had uplifted his spirits, providing a much-needed break from the stresses of their battles.
"Now, let's head home. I'm feeling a bit tired," So-Rin suggested.
"Alright," Noa replied with a nod.
Cloud leaped into Noa's motorboards as soon as he decompressed it and they flew back to their apartment.
