The challengers—numbering close to a hundred—unsheathed their weapons, the metallic sounds ringing out in unison. The air filled with tension as the competitors stared each other down, deciding who to strike first.
Some wielded swords, others carried axes, spears, and even exotic weapons like glaives and flails and few of them Londor's favourite weapon greatswords. Among them were mages clutching their staves, ready to unleash devastating spells, and archers armed with enchanted bows and daggers for close range. The sheer variety of combatants reflected the diverse nations and races represented: elven warriors with their ornate, rune-covered blades; dwarven fighters clad in heavy armor, brandishing massive hammers; and human knights, hunters from various kingdoms, each carrying their family's sigil or merceneray symbol on their shields.
