Chapter 6: Crazy In Love, Or Just Crazy?

~No One's P.O.V.~

Jessie's head was hurting as her phone alarm went off. Sitting up she looked to her see her phone on the charger and the bottled water and aspirin. "Oh sweet God and heaven it wasn't a bad dream." Talking to no one in the room. Looking at the time she decided to get ready and head over to Killian's and Chloe's place. "I'm sorry I'm late but does the fact I got the plates, napkins, candles, cake, and utensils make up for it?" Jessie called out carrying bags on her arms and the cake in her hands. "Which is why I got the table covers, balloons and ice-cream. God parent team strikes again. We even made all the party favors filled and got the pinata. Also got the food ordered that the grandparents will be bringing in. What is it you two actually did again?" Axel asked his siblings while Jessie and himself stared at them crossing their arms. "Well we made her." Killian said smiling taking a drink from the jug of sweet teas and lemonade that Jessie also made as he got smacked in the head by Chloe.

"What my ass of a husband mean is thank you. Everything looks so beautiful and it mean so much to us and Maddie will love it. I'm going to go help our girl with her hair now." Chloe smiled and hugged them both. "I got to go get the stereo going Hunter just brought it in with the guys. The girls are still getting the decorations finished around the yard. Thanks guys." "I'll take these." Chloe's mom and dad came and grabbed the things Jessie brought. Leaving to them standing in front of each other with a small smirk on his face. "Thank you Ax." "Ah she knows my name." Chuckling to her sweetly and teasingly. "Yeah. Thank you for taking me home and putting me to bed. I remember everything and I am sorry for everything I said. I don't blame you for anything. I was just mad at myself and Dimitri I guess that's a weird issue right now. I'm just really sorry and thankful for everything you did last night." "You know I'd do anything for you angel. You want to talk about last night?" Axel asked looking at her rubbing her arm softly.

"Maybe we can put a pin it just for today?" "Sure, that might be a good idea. Any other nights you want to talk about?" "That again will have to hold a pin." "Sure ok." He smiled to her. "Hey kiddo's. Anyone seen the birthday girl?" Sean asked with a bouncing Dana holding big bag gifts. "She's in the house." Axel pointed to them. Dana went bouncing into the house. "We still on for dinner Tuesday?" "Yup I'll meet you at the diner about five." Axel said with a smile as his dad patted his back. "What was that?" Jessie asked shocked. "Seems like we have a lot more to talk about then we thought. Maybe we could get everything all out in the open Wednesday at dinner up in the cabins? As a…date?" He asked her scratching the back of his head. "Are you actually asking me out on a real date Axel?" She asked shocked. "Yeah angel I am." "I don't think it's a smart idea to have a date when were supposed to be celebrating Bella's birthday, and a night away with our friends." "Yeah that could be difficult." Axel said a little let down but not showing it. "I'm free Friday. If you're serious though." Looking into her eyes and rubbing her cheek for a minute. "Friday's perfect." He whispered to her walking away to help his friends leaving her blushing.

After a few hours of playing party games with some of the kids from her class and their older siblings talking to everyone it was time for the annual birthday present to Maddie. Every year they did something together whether it would be a dance routine, a story they made up and acted out, really anything and they recorded it to so when she's eighteen and off to college she would always have a great part of them with her for those lonely days. After cutting the cake Killian was excited to pop up on the make shift stage just for the two of them. Isabella was on facetime with Leo and all the guys on the fire department. Dimitri asked her to point the camera so they could see too. "Thank you all for coming out took now I think it's time for one of the fun events we all look forward to this evening. Come on up Jess." Killian said in an excited voice as everyone cheered they loved it almost as much as Maddie who was standing in front cross legged with her friends. Walking up stage with a guitar left Axel confused because they didn't practice or even set up an act.

"Well we all know why Axel and I started doing these little acts of love well just call it." Everyone giggled to her. "It's for you to enjoy one day when you're away from all of us and need us to be with you. I remember when I went to college it was my first time away from Bellbrook even West Wick. I wasn't too far but I was never close enough either. I took it pretty hard. There was one person who helped me through it though he came and camped out in my dorm every time he got leave and I don't think he knows just how grateful I am for that because I don't think I would have got through it without him. Some of you don't remember or know but Axel is pretty good with a guitar. In fact Killian and some of them sheriffs all got some musical instrument talent. We all know how big on country music they are too." Jessie said with an eye roll making everyone laugh hard at them.

"One night when I was feeling at my lowest when Axel came to visit me and I was thinking of giving in and coming home being so close to graduation Axel actually sang a song to me that turned my whole year around from just one song. So if he will come up here and help me. I would like to give you the same song Maddie that helped me when I needed it most. Axel was blushing remembering how he learned that song just for her because she like country. Hell she listened to everything her playlist will go from DMX, George Straight, AC/DC, Temptations, Nelly hell you name it she listens to it Axel shook his head. "You're crazy. I love it." He whispered in her ear making her blush harder. "Happy birthday baby girl." He added with a wink as they started Chloe was recording.

They finished up to see most the crowds with smiles and a few tears threatening to fall except Chloe who was bawling like a baby. "That was just so beautiful." Mama Gabs said a silent happy tear rolling down her cheek. Hugging both of them as Axel was now holding a very happy Maddie and Jessie was kissing all over her beautiful face. "You sing like an angel dear, and who knew my son had such a voice?" Dana laughed. Sean looking at her weird as he looked around most people looked at her weird too.

"We all did honey. Remember when Jessenia and the boys were in high school on her birthday one year she had a honky tonk party and the guys all came over and made a little band to sing her all them country songs? Hell Cal and Ryder's dad and I had to show them how to two step, and line dance that was the longest month of our lives good music though." Sean said making Killian and Axel both smile deeply that was one of the best times they had with their dad separately and together and it was all to make her night great which it was.

"Well I must be getting old, with my mind getting away from me. Chloe you better start thinking of giving me another grand baby before I get to senile." She joked. "Nope sorry ma, it's Axel's turn." Killian said as he playfully shoved him only for Axel and the other guys to start rough housing like children. "Alright let's get to that pinata." Gabby clapped her hands as the guys went to grab it and get it ready. Sean and Cal standing around with Jessie watching.

"You know if Axel wanted to give me grandkids I'd be ok with it." Cal said watching his daughter get red at the meaning behind it. "Daddy." She told him in that tone. "Me too, just think how smart and beautiful they'd be." Mr. Graves." "Now honey it's ok you can me dad too. Let's get a drink Cal we can plan out fishing days now." He teased as Cal laughed behind him joining him. "HA ha laugh it up ya ol fogies." She moaned to them.

"That was a great show. The guys loved it." "I know Bells I can see them." Jessie laughed out sitting next to Sienna and Aria. "No not our guys these guys." Bella turned her camera around for the whole fire department to be waving and smiling at her. "ARE YOU SERIOUS BELLS! It was hard enough just to sing in front of the small crowd here." She told her hiding her face in her hands. "You were amazing." Sienna told her as she heard other encouraging praises from the guys on the phone. "You did great beautiful." She heard the one voice she really didn't want to hear. "Thank you Dimitri." She told them in a dead panned voice. "Hold on a second babe." Bella said as she muted the phone. "That was icy are you two ok?" Aria asked. "What happened on your date?" Sienna questioned with a look that was ready to kill. "It was fine. It was a great date, but it's just not going to work out. So I'd like to just leave it at that. Alright?" Jessie asked them.

"OK." They all agreed. "I know a guy I could hook you up with if you want a date." "NO! No I'm good I actually got a date this Friday and I'm excited about it and that's all you're going to get from me you vultures." She got up to leave with Aria and Sienna following behind her trying to get some fallen candy to. Unmuting her phone she looked at the phone and saw the guys kind of bummed. "What's wrong babe?" "Oh huh, Dimitri just kind of bummed he kind of blew it with Jessie so he's nursing his wounds." "Oh, well I'm sure it can't be that bad. Jessie said this morning they are still friends. HEY! What are you guys doing Wednesday and Thursday?" Bella asked him as he smiled to her. The party went on and everyone laughed and danced without a care in the world just being thankful for being able to be together.

"Monday's sucks." Ryder moaned out. "Well no one told you to have an all-night fuck fest the night before work." Elias teased. "I think I pulled a muscle man." Ryder whined louder. Hunter threw him an icepack. "Been there bro that shit hurts, always stretched beforehand man." He added as everyone agreed. Natalie came walking up to the with a pot of coffee that smelt like it was burned from Satan's ass himself. Just as Jessie was behind her with a cup holder of four smoothies. "Hey guys thought you could use a pick me up. I also got my research up date for you. Hi Natalie."

"Hi. I came to see if they need some caffeine." She asked smiling to them. "No thanks." "No." "I'm good." "Nope." Grabbing his smoothie from Jessie. He gave her a side hug and a kiss on the cheek as well as the rest of the guys. "Thanks angel you always seemed to know just what I need." He smiled deeply to her. Getting irritated she stomped off. "Guess someone got her tampon in the wrong hole. The guys all spit out their drinks and choked laughing a bit too hard. "Damn girl you straight up mean." Ryder said as he was patting himself off with napkins.

After talking for a while she explained to them what she thought the chemicals could have been and was able to break it down herself since no one else was able to and after playing around in the lab with Dex she was able to break it all down and write out the formula. "That's it then?" "From my theory, and my math yes. Now I'm not saying this is it down to the T but if I'm right and the symptoms you told me about were the only known symptoms then yes this should be your recipe for a new drug. Highly addictive and yet also highly most recommended to gain control over someone for a while, too much is a bad thing it can make your heart stop, or any other important organ give up from too much use just like anything else would. Only difference is if a pregnant lady takes this unlike ither drugs where the baby has a chance to bounce back. The baby will die there is no way around it. It stops their little heart it's not strong enough for any type of even the smallest dose." Jessie said looking sadly to Axel. "You mean the lady I brought in." "Not even an hour after we left. The mother died yesterday in jail her lungs quit." Jessie said sadly.

Natalie walked over to them with a big smile with all of their mail in hand. "Hunter, Eli, Ry, and here you are Axel do you guys have anything you need to send out?" She tried to aske sweetly as they all handed over their mail to her. Jessie noticed a note to the football coach. "Are you still sending plays to the coach of the little league?" Jessie asked crossing her arms smirking to him. "How sweet you help with little league?" Natalie asked him twirling her long curly hair. "Well you know Killian and I were the best thought some of our plays might help them out." Axel shrugged with a wink to Jessie.

"You should have seem them on the field Natalie because it was actually a really good show. The best play still known through town is one they did really well and no one ever saw it coming it was perfect. Axel would take off running. The quarter back threw him the ball Killian came running up to him and they did this turn thing so everyone would still be looking at Axel who looked like he was still carrying the ball, but actually the sneakily passed it off to Killian. It was the biggest fake out." Jessie chuckled as everyone around here joined her.

Axel looking at the board of the map of arrests sunning a hand down his face as he was slowly drifting in thoughts as Jessies voice began to muffle out but kept repeating her words in his head it was the biggest fake out, flashing show one way to get the main go through the other. "GOD DAMN IT!" He roared standing up leaning over his desk scarring everyone or making them jump. Looking straight to Jessie. "Angel you're a fucking genius."

Grabbing both hands to her face and kissing her forehead walking over to the board. Confused looks from Natalie and Jess as they were waiting for him to finish that thought. "Going to need a little more there stud muffin?" She teased. "It's all a fake out." He said showing them each spot the set-up people got arrested on the map. "They were using the best possible people who already had a record or with someone who had a record to make you believe they were just a regular junkie, to get the mule through. You can't question them getting arrested if it all adds up to the profile and past history. That is genius." Jessie said in shock.

"Next time we catch someone with drug possession we need to have a random search check point at every possible entrance. We need to start those randomly few times a week now to avoid suspicion that we are looking for someone or something specific. It needs to remain that we are just trying to do our job as we really are getting this shot out of our town and homes." Axel told them looking at the station around him. "That is exactly what we are going to do." Dalton told him coming around making more people jump he liked to take the afternoon and evening shift. "Axel don't ever let this one go. She's the best thing you brought into this place." He warned him kissing Jessie's cheek. "Oh were not." "Don't worry sir I don't plan to." Axel gave her a smirk and a knowing look. "Whatever I need to use the restroom and I need to go." She laughed hopping down the desk and going into the bathroom. Natalie huffed annoyingly and went back to her desk.

Ryder went to wait for the printer to get done printing his report and faxing them at the same time to insurance firms for victims to file their reports. Being in the next room on the other side of the hall he couldn't help but here the girls. "Hey Amber, you almost ready to leave. What is with your face today you're like happy then sad then happy. What the hell is wrong with you. "FINE! OK Well you know how I feel about Dimitri." "You mean how obsessed and in love with him you are?" Nat smirked. "Shh. Fine yes all that. Well I bumped into him at the sports bar and grill before he left I went up and you know was making my move which was fine because he was sad about something. Some shot he blew and how happy she looked on stage with him and meaning more than it looks. I had no idea what he was talking about and he was so drunk. He let me bring him back to my place and one thing lead to another and we ended up having sex on my couch. It was amazing. The only thing is he didn't like it when I spoke or called his name, he didn't even look at me like ever it felt like mentally he was a million miles away, and before he finished he pulled out even though he had a condom and called out for Jes." Amber said getting mad. Ryder mouth hung wide opened.

"You mean Jessenia?" Nat whispered out hand over her mouth. Amber nodding in tight lipped anger. "Yup. Looks like that bitch is stealing everybody fucking slut. I mean you're a great catch and of course Axel is never going to see you with her around. Little miss smart, pretty and fucking perfect apparently. Then that's not enough she has to take my one thing of happiness. I have been dreaming of a moment like last night forever. It was nothing how I hoped it'd be. He wasn't even thinking of me. He was so drunk. I went to go clean up and put myself together to ask him what the hell. He was already gone fucking Mateo came and got him since he lived down the way and took him somewhere. But I mean hell Nat if he was sober enough to know where or what area he was in he was sober enough to know my name and the fact that I wasn't her. He used me Nat. He used me because he couldn't get who he really wanted." "Isn't that what you do Denny? You go and sleep with him like twice a week because he's in love with you and Dimitri doesn't call you back?" Natalie asked curiously. "That's different!" Amber roared. As Jessie came around the corner to leave.

"Oh hey Amber." Amber looked at her with a glare in her eyes. "Yeah like you haven't taken enough from me?" Amber growled to her. "What the hell I was just saying hi. Crazy. Whatever then." Jessie rolled her eyes never getting along with the two in front of her but was always as nice as she could have been. Jessie left as Nat and Amer went back to their desk as the guys all went outside laughing. "What the hell crawled up your ass?" Elias asked Ryder confused. "Man you won't believe the shit I just heard down in the fucking hallway man." Ryder told them running his hand back and forth on his trimmed short designer stubble face.

"Man y'all gossip more than women." Axel told him with a laugh. "You want to hear this or not." Ryder asked him with attitude and sarcasm. "Sure my little hen get clucking." Hunter told him in such a high pitch girly squeal. Leaving them laughing at what Ryder told them. "What a fucking tool." Elias shook his head. "Hey now he's a free man what he does or who he does is his own business. Them tricks need to keep my angel name out of her mouth though." Axel told them in a serious tone.

"It aint her fault man. The heart wants what it wants in their case don't. It's not Jessies fault." Hunter pointed out and they agreed. "The thing that's blew my mind was he saw you guys singing on that stage thing yesterday. Bella was facetiming Leo all them guys saw it. So when Amber said it was more then what it was he thinks in his head you guys got something on. Hell everyone was thinking it the way you guys responded to each other. You could have had sex right there and no one would have been shocked with all the heat coming off you too." Ryder told them as the guys laughed and pointed but agreed.

"Why don't you just ask her out man." Hunter whined. "Because I already did." Axel whined back then his eyes grew wide and he knew what he just said. "I'm sorry come again. I didn't hear you by the craziness that came from your mouth." Ryder asked him. "Don't make this into a big deal because I know her and I know she hasn't even told the girls and she probably won't until after we actually have one. You CAN'T TELL!" "Fine we promise." Hunter said on good thing about the guys is when it came to it they were all a vault.

"I asked Jessie out and she said yes we are going Friday. I wanted to take her to a special place when we gone Wednesday but she said she didn't want to be away when we were supposed to be celebrating Bella. Things between them two are getting weird by the way." Axel brought up. "Yeah it's because she wants to drag Jessie to Dimitri because he likes her and then she can double date with them and it would bring all of them closer and her even closer to Leo because they would be able to share more of their lives with each other." Hunter said simply. "How do you know that?" Elias asked weirded out.

"Because she's a woman and Sienna and I have already been talking about it because things are way weird with them two right now and none of us like it Aria and Sienna think Bells needs to back off her but she won't let up about him this is the only reason we can come to." Hunter shrugged. "Only thing is Jessie can't see him the way he wants can't give him the relationship he wants." Ryder told them. "IF he is acting out like this the way he did with Amber you think he can get a little violent as time goes on about the rejection?" Axel asked them getting nervous. "What rejection?" Elias asked him. "AGAIN YOU DON"T SAY SHIT!" They all nodded. Axel explained everything that happened Friday and Saturday and his growing concerns on just how crazy is one man willing to go for a woman. If he's crazy in love, or just crazy?
