Stepmother to the Third Protagonist

Yang Liu ends up in a novel as the stepmother of the third male lead. The character is briefly mentioned at the start and end when she marries and divorces the male lead's father. Yang Liu is strong and funny, just wants to enjoy life and spend money. She plans to live freely, embracing her new role. The male lead’s father is thirty-five years old this year—mature, wealthy, and refined—but he has never been in love before. Yang Liu doesn't want to be forced to work anymore. So, if that means having a son and a husband along with it, she’s fine with it. She plans to do whatever she wants.

At night

At night, after dinner and a bath, Yang Liu opens her wardrobe, searching for pajamas but only finds plain, unappealing ones. Finally, she picks out a nicer white pair and makes a mental note to buy new clothes at the mall tomorrow.

As she puts on the pajamas, she looks in the mirror and whispers, "At least I'm pretty."

Yang Liu starts to think about what to do next. Since the date on the marriage certificate shows they got married yesterday, she realizes she won't need to adapt or pretend to be someone else, as in the book, he was just helping her. "So, that means we're not close, right? I don't have to pretend to be someone I'm not."

She heads to the living room, settles into the luxurious couch, and turns on the TV, eager to learn more about this world.

When she turns on the TV, she's surprised to see her favorite cartoon, *Frozen.* "After everything that happened, I didn't expect to see this here... How did this movie end up in this world?" she wonders, scratching her head.

Yang Liu gets caught up in the cartoon, and soon she notices Han Wei next to her in his pajamas. She smiles and asks, "Aren't you supposed to be in bed?"

Han Wei pouts, "It's only 9 PM! I can watch for 30 more minutes before going to sleep."

Yang Liu pats his head and replies, "Okay, just a little longer." They turn back to the TV and continue watching.

Meanwhile, Han Chen finally finishes his work in the office. He stretches in his chair and checks the time. Realizing it's already 9 PM, he decides it's time to head home after working all day without a break.

Han Chen stands up, walks past Secretary Jian's desk, and says, "See you tomorrow, Jian. Make sure to get some rest."

Secretary Jian nods and watches as her boss leaves.

Twenty Minutes Later

In his car, Han Chen drives toward home and notices all the lights are on. He stops, scratches his head, and checks his watch: 9:20 PM. As he walks slowly toward the porch, he hears laughter from inside. Quickening his pace, Butler Ling spots him from a distance and approaches to greet him. Han Chen raises his hand, signaling that Ling can take a break.

Butler Ling glances into the room and sees two people watching TV. Relieved, he happily retreats to rest.

In the living room, Han Chen sees his son and his new wife enjoying a cartoon together, and he feels comforted by the scene. He leans against the door, unsure if he should enter.

Meanwhile, Yang Liu and Han Wei are having a great time watching *Frozen,* completely unaware of Han Chen's arrival.

As Yang Liu heads to the kitchen for snacks, singing "The cold never bothered me anyway," she suddenly spots a man at the door. She freezes, thinking, "What a handsome man. But who is he, and why is he just standing there?" His blonde hair catches her attention, making her even more curious about his identity.

Han Wei notices her reaction, turns around, and sees his father. With a big smile, he runs over and shouts, "Daddy, I missed you!"

Han Chen hugs his son and replies, "I missed you too. I'm sorry I couldn't take you to school today."

Yang Liu beams as she watches Han Chen kneel down to hug Han Wei.

Standing up with his son, Han Chen greets Yang Liu, saying, "Good evening."

She smiles back, "Good evening! Did you have dinner?" But before Han Chen can answer, his stomach growls loudly. Yang Liu stifles a laugh as she glances between father and son, admiring how alike they are in appearance both with the same striking blonde hair and similar features.

Yang Liu tries hard not to laugh and offers, "You must be hungry. Everyone's asleep, but I can make you some instant noodles if you'd like."

Han Chen looks her up and down, wondering, "Is she smiling today? What's changed?"

He scratches his head and agrees, "Okay, thank you."

Yang Liu heads to the kitchen happily, thinking, "I just need to find the noodles, and that won't be a problem."

Han Chen watches her go, questions swirling in his mind. He takes a deep breath and checks the wall clock again: 9:50 PM. Holding his son, he says, "Time for bed. I'll tuck you in tonight, okay?"

Han Wei giggles and leans his head on his father's shoulder, saying, "Okay, Daddy."

As Han Chen heads upstairs to put his son to bed, Yang Liu finally finds the noodles after ten minutes of searching. She sighs in relief and starts cooking.
