Chapter 38

There's that moment when you're doing absolutely nothing. Just laying on a bed and staring at the ceiling, or just having an internal conversation with yourself. Then suddenly, a thought of the past came up.

That happened to me.

I was in that position where I was asleep but not completely. Somewhat awake but still asleep. The thought of Aurora with tears from her eyes just hit me and made me remember when she thought less than her worth.

It made me open my eyes and sit up, thinking about it more. I dreaded the fact that I just ignored it completely. It just burned.

Then I thought, oh, it's my birthday.

I didn't know what I wanted to do for my birthday, most likely would've just stayed home with Carter, Nadia, and Aurora to watch a movie. When I thought of the horrible memory, I knew exactly what I had to do.

But, not entirely. I had to show her that she's more than what she thought she was without letting her know. But how?
