Chapter 33

As they say, "New year, new me" or something like that. I was happy at the beginning of the year. Feeling more confident than ever.

After speaking to Nadia on Christmas, I began to hug Carter every time I see him. He was a bit suspicious of me, even questioned my random act of appreciation. I tried to change the subject to what Nadia had talked to him about, but he said she didn't tell him.

Every day since Christmas, I've done the same thing. It became a routine, most may say.

On the second day of the third week of school, all three of us were eating lunch together. Aurora would've joined us, but she had Astronomy work to do.

"Dude!" I smiled, hugging Carter out of nowhere. I kept my arm around him as I continued to eat my lunch.

"I am concerned," Nadia stated.

"Yeah, so am I." Carter moved my hand before continuing. "Since Christmas you've been acting like this. What happened?"

"Nothing happened, I'm just happy for the new year," I grinned.
