"We should capture and torture him for eternity," Pansy gritted out, anger clearly visible on her beautiful face. Harry never noticed how beautiful and cute she actually was; when she was younger, her face was always so 'hard-faced' and 'pug-faced'. When she became older, she became quite the beauty.
"First of all, we are not Osiris and Isis. We may have their memories, but we are so much more. Secondly, he may have betrayed the two of them and been the reason for their failure in their rebellion against Ra and their imprisonment, but right now, we don't have the manpower to take him down." Harry countered her argument.
Once they had ensured the integrity of the outpost and its systems, Harry used the sensors to get more detailed information on the different countries and advanced operations on Earth. The first thing he checked out was the other Stargate. With relief, he confirmed that the operation precisely located below Cheyenne Mountain was under the control of humans—to be precise, a branch of the Air Force of the U.S. Military called Stargate Command, or SGC.
Interestingly, he gained the first intel on the situation of the galaxy from them. The Goa'uld empire was still out there. By remotely connecting to their computer system, he managed to read through their different mission reports and other information. Over two years ago, in 1996, with the help of three supercomputers, they managed to develop a primitive dialing system by directly interfacing with the Stargate and interpreting the different signals.
Which was a bit worrying for Harry. The Clavis was not only a way to dial and power the gate but also had many safety features included, preventing a dangerous connection. But humans developed their own systems without any of these safety measures. It was already the second iteration of it; the first one could only dial one address: Abydos, a world under the domain of Ra. This world was the topic of the very first mission report in the SGC. In 1996, an expedition traveled through the gate to determine what was on the other side and whether it was a threat.
This mission resulted in the death of Ra; Colonel O'Neill managed to transport with the transportation rings a nuclear warhead into Ra's ship, destroying it and killing Ra in the process. The Goa'uld Empire was still out there, but it lost its Supreme System Lord Ra, who was keeping the empire in balance. Right now, it must be in a state of complete disarray, with every System Lord and independent Goa'uld trying to expand their influence. Coincidentally, this is the perfect time for mankind to explore the galaxy since the System Lords are focusing on each other. The SGC can actually do some real damage; the military tactics and weaponry are far more efficient for war than the ones of the Goa'uld empire.
From the different mission reports, he confirmed that the weaponry and technology of the Goa'uld hadn't changed much since before Osiris's imprisonment. They still used staff weapons; a shot of them is more destructive than one of a human gun, but they are far more inefficient for war than a submachine gun. They are made to intimidate, not for war. Humans right now have a real chance to carve out their own influence in the galaxy. They may not be as advanced as the Goa'uld, but they are advanced enough to fight them.
And having experienced the memories of Osiris, Harry realized the greatest flaw of the Goa'uld: their mental state. Goa'uld were mentally unstable, arrogant, and foolish to a dangerous degree. Harry witnessed the deterioration of the Goa'uld's mind through the eyes of Osiris. Because he wasn't Osiris himself, he was able to clearly see the effect.
At the beginning, the Goa'uld were very smart, stealing and adapting technology from other civilizations and constantly advancing. But this rapid development came to a slowdown as soon as they discovered a particular piece of technology, an ancient healing device. From this device, they developed the one piece of technology allowing them to heal most of their wounds and indefinitely extend their lifespan, the sarcophagus. But long-term use of the sarcophagus has dire consequences, not only slowing down any technological progress in the Goa'uld Empire but also permanently negatively affecting their mental state.
Immortality was nice and all, but not if it negatively affected his mind. So neither he nor Pansy or any of their future followers would use the sarcophagus. But Harry knew how the Ancient Healing Device worked; the Ancients used it similarly to the Goa'uld, keeping themselves in peak state and extending their lives. Though it doesn't work forever, the device isn't able to affect the brain, and though a brain can survive longer as long as the body is alive, it would still die at some point.
After all, the standard human physiology had only a maximal lifespan of 125 years, while wizards were around 250 years old. The Ancients themselves, at their peak state of evolution, had around 300 years of natural life, which they extended with the help of technology. Of course, the Healing Device was a complex piece of technology specifically adapted for a specific physiology. One mistake could have unforeseen consequences, like the sarcophagus.
Harry wasn't in a hurry for such a device; with the help of his symbiote and his wizarding physiology, he had around a thousand years of life. One day he will create such a device for their specific physiology, but he wasn't in a hurry.
After all, he had more important matters right now, like the current discussion with Pansy. It wasn't about the Goa'uld Empire, nor about the SGC. After he checked out the SGC operation and read through their mission reports, he continued to study the planet for interesting things like technology or alien life forms. He found one particular thing of interest that his previous sensor wasn't able to pick up. There's another god on Earth right now. And not some random one, but an old enemy of Isis and Osiris. Sethesh.
Sethesh convinced them to betray Ra and then betrayed them to Ra, resulting in their imprisonment for thousands of years. Of course, both he and Pansy, who had inherited their memories and emotions, wanted to take revenge on that traitor.
"Why not? With our magic, it should be an easy thing to do," she replied to his concern about their lack of manpower.
"Sethesh has Nish'ta and used it to mind-control a sizeable fellowship that serves him. He has 56 people following him," Harry shared the intel. The sensors were not only able to detect the symbiote but also the Nish'ta, a biological compound that allows Goa'uld to mind-control humans inside their bodies. By accessing databases of different agencies in the U.S., he managed to figure out which particular Goa'uld they were dealing with. Seth Fargough was not a particularly subtle identity if you were looking for a Goa'uld.
"So what is your idea?" Pansy asked.
"We could take all of them out together with a bomb. Just drop it off the ship and be done with it. Though my preferred method is to sneak in with disillusionment charms and assassinate him with a killing curse before we reach the range where he can sense the naquadah in our blood, This would dissolve the effect of the Nish'ta and allow us to collect the weapons these people have. The sensors detected a few staff weapons, Zat'nik'tels, and Goa'uld grenades. Which can be quite useful for the start," Harry replied; they were unarmed right now besides the Kara'kesh he had.
Sure, he could build some himself, but the small amounts of Naquadah he had could be used more effectively. Gaining a few weapons would help, but the most important thing was killing Sethesh.
