Chapter 6

The mission to Kashyyyk was an easy dispute to handle according to the details on the data pad but both men knew that such things were never that simple especially when it came to the two groups they were on the brink of war due to a dispute between their respective trade guilds which could lead to the possibility of war. The trip to Kashyyyk was going to be long a one since the mission had been originally commissioned by the Supreme Chancellor of the senate and was related in part to an ongoing investigation into the Trade Federation since the incident at Naboo, Thann had only been to Kashyyyk once with his original master for a brief mission that regarded the Wookie royal family which was quickly and quietly solved , but this time the mission and the master were different and this time Thann would keep his head on a swivel so as to not miss anything that could lead to another situation like Naboo.

Quinlan had Thann meditating so he could expand his connection in the force which is where most jedi seemed to only do once they graduated from knighthood to master and Vos knew that was a mistake since he had come along way in his own ability once he began to apply some of the skills that the consular class used in their own training. A few moments later Vos grabbed Thanns shoulder " It's time to get up were about to land." Thann got up and began to prepare himself for what was to come and began centering himself in the force after arriving near the departure area things seemed a bit off to the young jedi something that he couldn't place but seemed familiar but put the feeling aside to deal with the situation at hand. Vos had Thann go and ask questions at the Wookie's trading guild to see if they might give more information and details on what exactly was the cause for the animosity between the two groups, while Thann was in route to where the guild was located he was suddenly attacked by a group of dark clad warriors they were brandishing vibro blades ready to attack the young jedi but Thann was in no mood so he did what his master would have and used the force to caused the gravity to become heavy so that the targets couldn't move, from there he called Vos for back up in restraining his newfound assailants. Once Vos arrived he quickly put each person in binders and then he and Thann used the force to move them to the ship so they could interrogate them.

Interrogations seemed to be producing nothing until Vos used his natives special ability of psychometry and found out who had put them up to the attack, which turned out to be a man in a dark hood who could not be seen even with the Jedi's skill but he did somewhat recognize the force presence as dark and that left him with some worry as to what might happen next during this particular mission, along with what Quinlan had seen Thann was starting to get that feeling again that he'd had when he first arrived and decided it would probably be a good time to let his senior jedi know. Vos was not happy that Thann had kept him in the dark about what he sensed but also knew that sometimes trusting your feelings right away was not always wise but Quinlan was one of those that led with his gut and he would rather be in the know than not " I understand that you were taught not to always trust your feelings but I'd like to know if you get anymore feelings you never know where they might lead or what they might reveal ok, also good job on subduing these idiots, and your gonna have to show me how you did that one of these days."

Thann was a bit proud of himself and how he handled the situation but he knew that his master would tell him not to let the pride go to his head and finish what he started which in this case was the investigation, so he started heading back to the Wookie Trade Guild and soon found himself at the front doors of the guild and hit the signal button that would alert someone that he was there. A few minutes later the door was opened and a 7ft tall Wookie walked out armed with a bowcaster ready to deal shoot whoever it was at the front door but stopped when he saw the Jedi and asked what he wanted in his native tongue which than had some experience with some from his last time there but still he missed having a translator droid, still he did his best translating and then told the Wookie why he was there " I'm here to ask about the situation between the Trade Guilds." to which the Wookie immediately signaled Thann to follow him which he did and soon found himself waiting in front of the Guild Leader's office and told to wait for a moment and then he would be seen. Finally after a period of time passed another Wookie had come along with the one that had escorted Thann into the building and luckily this time they had a translator droid with them, when Thann entered the room he was invited to sit and the Wookie leader introduced himself and the guard who escorted Thann to his office he spoke and then the droid translated for him " I am Ayytther and this Tumyu now how can I be of service Master Jedi?" the older Wookie Ayytther asked and so Thann got right to the point and asked the questions he needed to about what was going on between the Wookie Trade Guild and the Trade Federation to which Ayytther told him what had happened " A week ago we had received a demand from the Trade Federation that they wanted us to join them and we said all which was presented to the rest of my guild members and then we voted and the majority consensus was no, so I relayed that message back and now it seems that there have been attempts on the lives of those in the guild including myself." Thann was surprised with what he was hearing knowing that most would not be willing take on the Wookies physically or otherwise since they were a species that most couldn't intimidate but whoever was attacking them was someone who had no fear of them and that alone caused Thann to wonder who it could possibly be that was brave enough to try and kill the Guild leader as well as the leadership. Thann thanked the Ayytther and asked to be escorted out and Tuyum was summoned and escorted him back towards the entry.

Thann immediately made his way back to where the ship was docked and was met with another group of beings clad in black but this time instead of wielding vibro blades they were waiting with lightsabers drawn their crimson blades standing out against the greenery surrounding them and Thann knew that they most likely were waiting for him or his master so he stopped just far enough not to be seen and assess the situation. Thann counted five persons and thought that might be more than he could handle so he did he played it smart and got on his comlink and tried to reach his master but it was to no avail and that brought back the feelings that he'd felt on Naboo almost causing him to freeze but then the thought came to him that these people might be holding his guardian so he made a decision that might not have been in his best interest but he would not let another master die to his inaction.

Thann gathered up his courage and grasped the hilt of his lightsaber and did committed to what he would be the best strategy, the element of surprise, Thann used the force to quicken his speed as he activated his lightsaber the pop hiss and blue coloring of his blade drawing the groups attention and causing them utter surprise as one of the compatriots was instantly cut down in an instant the shock still lingering and another black clad member was cut down before any of them finally pulled their lightsabers were pulled into a defensive position as they faced the incoming attack from the young Jedi who seemed to be an unstoppable force. Thann knew that he'd have to keep at least one of the beings alive if he wanted to get any answers so he decided that the last three men he would dismember with quick strike since he guessed that they most likely were not as trained so it should be easy but then again he knew it might be difficult so he used the force to once again bolster his speed and quickly severed all threes hands before they had even had a chance to move.
