Chapter 11

Obi-Wan was stunned at what had just happened there was no way that some one eight years younger than him had completely bested him in combat it had to be a fluke so he challenged Thann to another duel " Thann would you mind having another go I'd like to see if I can improve on where I failed," Thann knew that Obi-Wan like himself could be very competitive but he also knew that Obi-Wan liked to learn and better himself and that he would most likely use this next duel as learning instance more so than to see who was better than who and that really impressed both Qui-Gon and Quinlan who knew of Obi-Wans competitive streak but for him to ask his junior for help showed his maturity and Thann obliged him and activated his lightsaber once again and saluted his senior.

Obi-Wan and Thann dueled three more times after their second duel for an overall amount of five times each time both men progressing in their blade skills further than they had previously and by the time it was over both men had count of two wins and one draw which once again surprised both Qui-Gon and Quinlan. Anakin was amazed at how well each men performed with a lightsaber and wanted to join in on the fun and asked Thann if he could use his lightsaber to duel Obi-Wan himself to which Qui-Gon stepped in and said he would practice with the youngling, Anakin learned picked up quickly what Qui-Gon was teaching him going through the motions of form four which Anakin learned quickly.

Within another hour Quinlan joined in on teaching the youngling himself which for him meant reinforcing what Qui-Gon had already taught by pushing the young man physically allowing him to attack and defend which helped with Anakin's progression the only thing that he was struggling with was his defense which Thann noticed and waited for the older two to be finished first and then he would help the youngling shore up his defenses. The day had turned into night as all three older Jedi had taken turns teaching the young padawan something that helped him build upon his skills from more than just lightsaber combat and drills to learning about the force and delving deep into it's secrets. Later that night Anakin went looking for Thann since he had a personal favor to ask him since he knew that Qui-Gon might never agree but he knew that Thann would hear him out before saying anything since they had bonded on Naboo. " What can I do for you young Skywalker?" Thann asked as the young padawan approached and took a seat across from him, Anakin took a moment to gather his thoughts before he put forward his request and then he finally asked " Can you free my mother?" Thann looked the youngling in the eye and saw how they began to glass over and knew that Anakin was on the verge of tears.

Thann knew that Anakin was a former slave on Tatooine from the conversations they had on Naboo but the boy never brought up his mother except for one time and that alone almost drove the boy to tears but he held it in but this time around it was different Anakin no longer held back the sorrow that had rooted itself in his heart at being separated from his mother and Thann could feel the youngers emotions as they raged and new that if the young man didn't reign in his emotions he'd start falling to the dark side and but he knew that the young padawan felt since his former master was like a father figure to him and would give anything to have him back and so he knew that what the youngling was asking would be easy for him to do though it might go against the council and the jedi code.

Thann looked at Anakin and saw what the turmoil was doing to him and so he came to a decision that he knew would either get him kicked out of the order or he'd be demoted back to the rank of padawan but he knew that it was the right decision all he needed to do was somehow shake Vos and that itself might be a great amount of work but there could be one other option. Thann approached the middle aged Jedi Master as he slept, but didn't get within five feet of him when Quinlan instantly sat up from the bed as if he was waiting for Thann, who acted if this was just another day and took a seat across from the Jedi Master, " So what's on your mind young Thann?" Thann looked down at his hands as he tried to center himself and gather his thoughts not wanting the emotions from earlier to lead his actions but he knew that what he wanted to say could go two ways but he had a promise to keep and he would no matter what the consequences.

Thann finally drew up the courage to finally approach the subject " I want to free young Skywalkers mother, his separation is from her is causing him great turmoil which could lead to further complications down the line with his training." Quinlan listened as the young man spoke thinking about how to best address the situation since this was an extreme violation of not only the Jedi Council, but the Jedi Code which the order stood on which could and most likely would mean expulsion for those who broke it and finally he thought up a solution, " Thann I know that you want to help young Skywalker but what your talking about is would end up in immediate expulsion from the order are you sure that you want to take this route, because if you do then we need to hurry back to Coruscant and then request leave since this could be a risky operation we need to move with expediency since as a slave she could be sold at any minute." Thann nodded his head and told the Jedi Master " Quinlan I'll do whatever it takes to free that boys mother." right as Thann was about finally go to sleep Quinlan said one last thing " Thann the last thing you need to do is keep this to yourself don't say anymore to Anakin until we have either successfully saved his mother or failed do you understand me?" Thann said "Yes", then both men went to sleep.

Thann and Quinlan both gave said their good byes to the other jedi and then began to make ready for lift off which only took them and a few minutes later they were in the sky just about to break through the planets atmosphere. Once they had broken through the planets atmosphere Thann began setting the co-ordinates for Coruscant as Quinlan began to position the ship according to the navcomputers directions and then once they had fully entered space and gotten far enough from the planets atmosphere Thann hit the hyperdrive lever and soon the stars became a blur of lines and they entered a blue wormhole.

Soon the ship left hyperspace and Thann and Quinlan were looking at Coruscant during its night time sky and just as they were about to break through the planets atmosphere they were hailed by Republic Security and told to dock at the nearest landing pad Quinlan and Thann both gave each other strange looks since this was a first time that a Jedi had ever been detoured from the Temple on a return trip. Once they had landed and hid whatever datapads they could since they both felt that something was wrong it also crossed their mind that someone high up in authority might be connected to the assassins on Kashyyyk, but what they didn't think of was that whoever was behind it all might try and have them held up by Republic security and so they did what they could mostly moving all the data onto something much smaller and more concealable.

As the two Jedi began to exit from the ships offboard ramp they were greeted with blasters being aimed at them and with sudden orders being shouted out for them to surrender and raise their hands which the two jedi did while at the same time using the force to subtly calm the situation which seemed to work and then within a few minutes another lift showed up with Master Windu and Mun-di off boarding and approaching the group wondering what was going on, " What seems to be the issue here?" Master Windu asked one of the security officers who jumped at the mans voice but calmed down even more so when he saw who it was " These men here are being held as criminals for stealing a diplomatic ship." Mace was taken a bit back by what he heard and then told the man " These men are Jedi Knights of the Jedi Order they were on a mission to Kashyyyk they could not have stolen this ship since it departed from the Jedi Temple."
