Praise The Lord

As the Ghost traveled, he put plenty of miles in between himself and Ottawa. His hometown, the place where he'd believed he'd be trapped forever.

Hours went by and nightfall came and went. He was getting exhausted from driving and he needed to sleep. Just then a man appeared in the road, the Ghost slammed on his brakes only to see he recognized the man.

"Jacko?"

"Oh, hello Brother Ghost, how are you?"

"I've been weathering the trials of faith!"

"Good for you buddy, need a ride?"

"Sure!"

The Ghost looked his old friend up and down, his body was starved and bruised, it was like he'd been beaten.

"You sure everything is alright?"

"Yes Brother Ghost, I am fine. These wounds are merely tests of my faith."

"If you say so." said the Ghost flooring the old bronco down the freeway

"If I may ask, you seem troubled by something."

"I killed a man, someone who'd done something terrible to someone I once knew."

"The Lord says let him take the revenge, there's no need for you to do so."

"Jacko..."

"No, the Lord shall exact his revenge upon the wick, but you doing so, only hurts you."

The Ghost looked out at the road, even though his belief in a god died with the nice guy version of himself, what Jacko said, seemed to resonate with him.

The two drove for another few hours before stopping, that's when they came, raiders but theses ones were different.

"Long way from home aren't we Ghost."

"I'm sorry, I don't seem to remember me asking you for your opinion."

"Boss man said you might say that, so allow me to reiterate, I am the Star Spangled Assassin, and you, my good man, have been marked for death by the New World Order."

"I don't give a fuck if you or your New World Order need me dead, all I have to say is good luck."

Without another word, the two engaged in combat. The Assassin tried to shoot the Ghost, only to have his gun shot out of his hand. The Ghost tried to shoot the Assassin only to have his revolver shot away from him. They grappled and began to wrestle, neither being able to pin the other.

"You're good, I'll give you that."

"You seem to fill the shoes of your legend quite nicely."

However, they both seemed to have forgotten that there was one other important person with them.

"Now boys, the Lord says thou shalt not kill, that's why I'm only going to take your kneecaps." Said Jacko holding a Desert Eagle

"You both have titles, The Star Spangled Ghost and The Star Spangled Assassin, I guess that makes me the Star Spangled Preacher, now on your knees and repent for your sins."

Both men looked at Jacko and the Assassin got down on his knees and waited. The other two managed to get into the bronco and peel off before the Assassin could grab his gun.
