Star-crossed

What if love turned out to be a curse rather that a happy event? For Xavier and Willow they are stuck in something that for a while both had thought was a compelete joke, they are trapped by a stupid love spell. Hopefully they can come up with the solution before something worse happens.

Chapter 11

~Papa what does it feel like when you love someone?"

"Where did this come from?"

"I don't know. I just want to know, so if I write about it I know."

"Well, write that later, in the meantime, you have me and Daddy to love so don't worry about it."~

A faint memory was now going through Willow's head, one she had always loved going to but now wished she could forget. Write that later, did he know how this felt and that I at least wanted to know how this would feel? I wonder if he was trying to keep me from something. So many thoughts went through Willow's head, and none had the ability to remain there not that she cared. She was enjoying Xavier's company far too much. In fact, they were so lost in each other that neither of them noticed the rustling in the bushes.

They had gotten used to having to keep both an eye and ear out for everything, it's how they stayed alive these past months. So for them being able to let their guard down tonight was something of a shock and they didn't really think about keeping an eye out for anything. This was something that they should never have let cross their minds for a second, but they just couldn't help themselves. While they were at the lake having some time to themselves, their worst fear had finally come at last. First, it was a pinprick on Xavier, it almost felt like one of the bugs had bitten him till he fell over on top of Willow causing her to scream. It was one she would at least hope someone would hear. She struggled to push him off her, but then she saw something long with some feathers on the end sticking out of his back. A dart? Is that a dart, that's what they look like in the books that I read Willow thought to herself as she looked around. She didn't see anyone coming, nor were there any more of them. So she did the only thing she felt she could do, cry. She couldn't seem to help it right now in fact she had been crying a lot lately. As she continued to cry, she started to glow, and as her tears fell they began to fall, she tried wiping them off but they just wouldn't stop. She gave up trying and went to hold on to Xavier, if being close to him makes her feel better maybe it could help her stop crying. But there was only one problem with this that she had forgotten about, he was just so heavy. In fact, she could never lift him when he was supporting some or even most of the weight, so how could she lift him so he could sit with her now?

All while this was going on, everyone at the party suddenly felt like they needed to go towards the lake, which was the oddest feeling for many of them because they were dancing and having a good time. Now they felt a feeling of fear and it was something that didn't belong. When they got to the lake many of them saw what could only be their worst nightmare. Xavier was on the ground passed out, Willow was crying and three men were trying to get them to come with them. Not only that Willow was glowing, a good sign that something was to come. Seeing this most just stayed frozen, they were too scared of the fact that Willow was now glowing when she hadn't been less than an hour ago, but not Jacob, he took charge as any good alpha should, he began to order his warriors to attack and to bring back Willow and Xavier. Jacob also joined in for he had warned these scum what would happen if they came and did such things while on his lands and he was not going to tolerate this. After a short few minutes, Xavier and Willow were out of the clutches of the hunters, who decided that it would be better to run than to try and see if they could stare down a wolf. Jacob ordered that Willow and Xavier be taken to the pack house and a doctor to come. While it didn't take very long to get back to the house, for Willow it seemed like it was a lifetime. She also couldn't stop crying. During the whole trip to the house, she was starting to hate the way she felt about Xavier. She loved him, at least she thinks that's what this is, but she just hated the fact that this feeling was making him hurt. When they had gotten back the doctor was there for both Willow and Xavier.

"Well, he's going to be out for the night, but I don't see anything else wrong with him, just a couple of scrapes from falling. Now Willow, let's take a look at you," the doctor said. He didn't seem like he was a bad person, even kept her and Xavier in the same room so that had to be something. She was still hating how she felt, but at least she knew that he would get better. The doctor came in and started to check her arms and legs. Thanks to Ryder, she didn't have as many of the bruises from before which was a good thing, he said that he couldn't heal all of the ones on her back. After a few minutes, though she breathed a sigh of relief when she heard that she was fine just some scratches and a few bruises. So the two of them would be able to leave with the rest of them, he fixed up Willow then a room where the two of them could rest was fixed up so nothing else would happen to them Willow walked and someone carried Xavier to the guest room that the teens would stay in.

When inside, they helped to get them into clothes that would be better for sleeping in. This way they would also be much more comfortable, but they noticed that Willow had a huge problem, she was a bit of a shy thing. So whenever it came to taking clothes off, it took a little bit of convincing not only that, the minute they started with Xavier she ran for the bathroom. Most of them got confused by this but some just thought it was cute. It wasn't till Anna came in to direct things, that all was well in the world. She made sure that both were dressed and then lying down, she then told them that they would be leaving in a few hours to get some rest. Willow nodded and slowly closed her eyes, this was not how tonight was supposed to go.

Anna had walked out of the room as quietly as she could manage, she was ready to kill. Jacob said he had taken care of this and tonight they almost got taken to, who knows where. They haven't gotten used to what they can do, not to mention the fact that they don't realize the danger of being apart yet. She kept fuming as she walked down the hall towards the main room where everyone was currently waiting. She greeted them and began to tell them about how they were doing. "They are sleeping, which is a good thing, but we need to get them out of here. Also, I don't think just Ryder is going to be enough for this trip. So if nobody has any complaints I'll be going on this trip as well, " Anna said.

"Well, no arguments so saddle up, Anna, and we have everyone packed, correct" Jacob asked. He looked around at the group and got a lot of nodding. "Then not to be a buzz kill, but we are now on lockdown. This means everyone inside unless you are a guard or cleaning the scene. They leave in a few hours, so for the next 36 hours, this will be what has to happen. Tell everyone over at the medical center to bring over those that can be moved, and have everyone from the outside houses get in here. No exceptions! Go figure out sleeping arrangements for everyone, we have some leaving so that should help a bit," Jacob looked tired, but didn't falter. He was a true leader and was going to make sure that this would get dealt with quickly. "Also, I want to know how they got back onto our land, and did any of them make it," he asked, there was a snarl in his voice. Someone nodded and held up two fingers.

"We brought them back with us, they are downstairs. Alpha, forgive me for speaking, but maybe you should go calm down before you go deal with them" the voice said. It sounded like it came from someone on the young side which did not surprise Anna at all, and she knew how Jacob was going to want to calm down. In the past, he went out to go kill something but maybe tonight would be different Anna was thinking hard about what to do next then she decided she would let fate guide her.

She quickly grabbed onto Jacob's arm to get him to look at her, "Jake come with me for a little while, we can go relax, then go back, okay" Anna said. She was more scared of him now than, she ever was but she would never just leave him she couldn't. Anna was ready to become his even if at some point she would have to live with a broken heart, and if she was to be his then she better let him in all the way. Jacob nodded and let her lead him away, "Tell Ryder not to drink so much tonight, we need him on his game," she yelled over her shoulder, and led him up the stairs. She had intended to get him to his bedroom, but he didn't get that far. "Jake, come on, your room is just one more floor up remember? We have been there a ton of times," Anna said, trying to get him to listen to her but he would have any of it. He had already pushed her up against a wall. Out of breath, she made one final try to get him out of the hallway and into a room, "Jake, your office or your room, pick one, but not the hallway. Could you at least do that for your girl, right," Anna asked. When she said this he immediately stopped.

"My girl? Does that mean you want to stay, to stay here with me, I mean," he looked at her hope in his eyes. Anna nodded and he picked her up, "you know little witch, that I'll never let you go after this," he growled at her. He stared at her wondering if he could still be what she wanted.

"That's okay, Alpha, you know I love being chased. So am I caught or not," she asked. She was staring him right in the eye. "Because I don't mind playing a bit more." Anna's eyes sparkled as she said this. This only made Jake growl more.

"Are you sure you aren't afraid of me? Many witches seem to be," Jacob said playing with her. He knew full well she had never been afraid of him at least he always thought she wasn't. If anything, he was afraid of her, she was older and could never die. It was always something that he prayed she would not forget in the heat of things, but she never had before so why should he worry now. He had been walking up to his room and while he knew he was going to have to give her up in a few hours he now knew that she was going to be all his. This was going to be his girl, the one who would own his heart.

~an hour or so later~

"I will be back in a few weeks my little wolf, but," and she reached over to get something from her clothes, "I want you to keep this. I know that if you were to mark me now it would be bad for you, but this is the same as it. Just wear it all the time, even when you shift. Don't worry, it will stay with you. Just think of it as a witch's way of marking someone," she said almost laughing. "It will keep the other girls away and the pack safe."

"What about for you? Do you get one," Jacob asked finally looking up at her. She pulled another from her clothes, she must have known he would ask. "So I just put it around your neck right," he asked. Anna nodded as she leaned forward. He looked the charm over then put it around her neck. "These aren't silver, so what are they made of?"

"The metal comes from the door of my old house, after they burned it down I took what I could and then made these. So they are a couple hundred years old. I wanted them for the one that I truly loved," she looked embarrassed. "I was almost ready to sell them till I met you," she said. Watching as he ran his fingers over the tiny charm. She was glad she didn't sell them "Don't worry, I would never dream of giving you something that would hurt you, well, not knowly, anyways," Anna said. "Lately something has been off with some of the hunters," she said looking angry. She looked at his chest, trying to calm down a bit.

"I know," Jacob said, lifting her head so he could look into her eyes," and for them doing this means that only one thing could have happened. It is making me worry, and not just for you, Annie, you will be careful on this trip, just promise me," he asked. He had her face in his hands, "I know that there are going to be guards in place to keep you and everyone safe but still try to be safe" Jacob said.

"Is my Jake afraid he'll never have me again" she teased. "Don't worry, I don't plan on leaving the car once I get on, I am just going to clean up whatever mess happens to come." she ran a finger along his chest. Which made him growl a bit, she knew what this did to him, but this time she got stopped by a knock at the door.

"Alpha! If we could bother you," a voice from the other side said, "it's about the hunters"

He growled in frustration but got up Anna got up as well, she was going to need this information too. Also, she knew they didn't have time to go another round. She looked at the clothes on the floor and decided to go to the closet. She had left some things there most were things to sleep in but there were some things to wear. When she found jeans and a shirt she went and sat on the bed. Jacob had come out wearing a very similar outfit to the one he had been wearing before, if this was about Xavier and Willow, they could have waited.
