The Garden

Yoona woke up next morning to find that her whole house was being refurbished. Sojin had called in repairmen to have everything fixed while the other servants were busy, running different errands.

"What's going on?" she yawned, pouring some juice in a glass.

"I'm preparing for your mother's visit," Sojin stated, moving a flower vase from the living room and replacing it with a china bowl. "There's no telling how long she would be back for but the house needs to look neat and proper."

"But our house is already neat and proper!" Yoona frowned. "Why go through so much trouble?"

"It's always best to be prepared," Sojin sighed. Jung Semi was not particularly fond of her. As the mistress of the house, she always felt threatened by Sojin for some reason. Yet, she never tried to stay back with her family which baffled Sojin.

"It'll be fine," Yoona assured her. "Mom won't even care what the house looks like!"
