"The Third Trial is very easy, yet it will be hard for some of you," Ken announced, his tone casual but edged with a chilling finality. "To proceed to the Fourth Trial, you must take the life of a fellow participant."
The words hit Celine like a physical blow. He glanced at Celine, whose eyes widened with disbelief, her hands trembling at her sides.
"K-k-kill someone?" she muttered, the insanity of it all echoing in her mind.
Ken continued, unfazed. "There are still quite a few contestants remaining after the Second Trial—quite unexpected, but good. Even after you kill one person, you can kill more." His voice dripped with malice. "If you manage to kill more than ten contestants, I shall grant you a free pass to the Fifth Trial."
