Chapter 20: Friends Meeting in Town

“He’s not saying that you’re gullible,” Clifford responded to Marielle’s question. "It is only that we don’t see faults in our best friends because they are in our company all the time,” he explained further.

Clifford knew exactly what Francie was talking about, though. Marielle was so used to seeing Kiara every day that she would not notice if her friend was fooling around. She would believe everything that Kiara said without checking the facts.

“I understand, but if she’s really jealous of my dance role then I have to speak to her about it,” Marielle remarked. “I can help her to see her own points of dance excellence,” she added with an expression on her face.

“I don’t know about you, but people generally don’t like advice about their favorite pastimes,” Francie commented. “All I can say is that you cannot treat her as usual. Separate yourself from her a little bit and don’t believe what she tells you without checking it out first,” he advised.
