A zombie bear

After getting the information and equipment from Keith, I decided to stock up. I filled the bottle that Keith gave me to the brim. I even took a bath.

This bottle really can store that much water. And it doesn't weigh even a fraction of it.

I took a bath. Well, it was just a normal shower. Washed my clothes and dried them using the fire. I am not sweating as much as I should. This place is dry.

Once my preparations were over, I decided to start moving. I have decided to head for the center. I did climb over the cave and took a look. It seems to be the end. There's nothing behind it.

Literally nothing. No land, no water..it's just vast emptiness. Is this perhaps the only landmass? No use thinking about it. I start my journey.

I am traversing the land. The ground is hard. It's not sandy or brittle. It's hard clay. Feels like it. Well, I did see some monsters but I decided to ignore them.

The killer fang wasn't very hard to kill. I just smacked it on the ground until it died. Mostly due to its small stature.

I saw a catlike monster, a wolf like monster and even a cow like monster. All of them were just roaming around. I walked in front of the cow like monsters.

They were about the same size as a cow. It was a herd. There were 8. All of them were chewing something and were pretty chill. I tried to touch one.

It didn't react. It's not as bad as that killer fang. The skin feels warm. But it has fiery cracks on its body. The horns are glowing.

Eyes were red but they didn't attack me so I just left them alone. They were like normal cows.

Maybe they aren't any different from normal cows. They probably adapted to this environment. So why was the rabbit like that? It was literally a zombie rabbit.

I am heavily drinking water. I didn't need to pee since coming here. Water is just not enough.

I spotted some flying monsters as well. Bird type? Maybe. I see a weirdly shaped rock.

It's hollow on the inside like a donut. I decided to rest here.

I drink more water and look around. The fire is evenly spaced. Like the road is being separated by the flames. It's leading to a single point.

If you keep your calm and be a little cautious, it's not too hard to survive. Food is another matter though.

I did see some more small monsters. They ran away as soon as they noticed me. Even those wolf like monsters ran away.

The only monster to attack me was that killer fang. My stomach is growling. I need food. Although time doesn't exist here, I still need energy to run my body.

While I was thinking about that, I heard a howl. It was a beastly howl. It came from the direction where the cow monster herd was at.

I get up and go there to see. A big black and yellow mass is moving. The yellow marks are most probably cracks on the skin. I did notice that monsters have this fiery crack on their skins.

And they are really hot. I carelessly touched one and it burned my finger a bit. One of the cow monsters is down on the ground. The rest have run away.

I see. That bear monster probably attacked the herd and killed one. I was hungry anyway so let's just kill the bear and eat the cow.

The bear is about 20 meters away from me. I should check if it's fast or not. Strength is something that can be tested later but I would like it to be slower than me.

I have nothing to throw at it. So I take out a killer fang bone from my pocket. I did keep a few bones. Shave it to make it a bit pointy and throw it at the bear.

It didn't pierce the skin and just clung on. However I now have the bear's attention.

It's growling at me. I take a step forward and it started rushing towards me. From the looks of it, it's not as fast as a grizzly but still faster than an average human.

I take the stick from my pocket and press its button. The metal rod he gave me shrunk when I pressed the button. It became the size of a pen. So I extend the rod and duck.

The bear almost got a hold of me. But I avoided getting caught. Only my shirt was torn. And yes, this is the same shirt I used to kill the killer fang.

The bear slid and came to a halt. But I did give it enough time to react. I jump on its back and take out the knife before stabbing it back in. This time, I used all my strength to push it in.

The blade is fully inside. But a 5 inch hole wouldn't do much to a bear. I twist the knife and gouge out some meat. Before pushing in the metal rod.

It's about a foot long. This would do some damage. The bear is moving around a lot. I lie down on its back and reach for its head and stab it in the eye.

I slit its nose as well. Throat would be harder to reach. So I keep working on the hole on the back. It's bleeding something. Smells really bad.

The bear stood on two legs and threw me off.

It angrily looks at me. One eye blind, nose slit open and a gaping hole on its back. Not the ideal condition to be it.

I reach out for my pocket for another bone. Rabbit bones aren't very sturdy so a long one would be preferable.

My target is the second eye. I don't want to have my arm bitten off. It's really pissed off after all.

I can't do anything crazy like suplexing a bear like I did before. I have to be resourceful.

The bone is in my hand. It's moderately long for a rabbit. Let's begin the second round.

I throw that bone at the bear and it crushed it with its teeth. I see. This is serious. Can this stick change as well?

I look at the button and saw that it's actually a dial. I rotated it and the stick became sword. That's what I need.

I start running. The bear isn't moving. It's just standing there, waiting for me. I jumped at it with my sword and it swung its arms. I managed to avoid one but the other one got me.

I got the bear as well. I thrust my sword in its skull. It's hard. But I got more than enough. It's falling down to the ground.

My left leg is numb due to the hit. The bear got my left leg. I stand up and push the sword once again. This time, the bear stopped moving altogether.

I am bleeding from my left leg. Maybe the bone is broken. The pain, I am somehow managing but I cannot move. I bring out my water bottle and drink some water.

I pour some on my wound as well. The bleeding stopped and the pain is subsiding. This water sure is useful.

I have killed another bear. This time, it was a lot harder than before.

(Congratulations! You have killed a dark terror. You have earned a reward.)

A backpack appears before me.

(For killing a dark terror on your first try without dying, you are granted a special reward.)

I see some cooking utensils and seasonings before me. I open the backpack. It has a stove in it and some oil.

I see a status window. This bag has a very high storage and state preservation. That helps a lot.

I am not gonna eat a bear so I will leave it here. But I cut some meat off of the dead cow and take the utensils with me.

This is a rather nice reward. Now, I can cook some actual food. Let's go back to that donut and cook the cow meat. Is it a cow though?

Another crack chapter. It’s fun smoking crack and writing.
