Spirit Eater [Dropped]

Synopsis updated as of Jan 24, 2020 -- I'll be blunt, this is also based on several other works here, and loosely related to other works like the Dragon Age games. Most of the concept for this work came from a mod for Dragon Age: Origins called Spirit Eater Class. Too lazy to explain, but it's on Nexus Mods if you need to find it. At the bottom of this synopsis will be a list of titles that I used as references and bases. The cover picture is a screenshot of one of my characters in Dragon Age: Origins killing the Archdemon. (DA:O is owned by BioWare, so while I own the screenshot, I don't own anything in the game.) Influences: -Advent of the Archmage -Dragon Age Series -The Elder Scrolls Saga -Various Mythologies

Words on the Ancient Elves

[According to the High Priestess, the loss of the awakening of their abilities can be chalked up to a very simple reason: their homeworld's complete corruption. By the time of their third generation here in Andor, Krazius had successfully corrupted and then absorbed the core of their homeworld. Without the source of their powers, their native world's core, they were mere fractions of a whole. In total, only 9 Ancient Elves remain with awakened powers: the High Priestess, the Sage, the Emperor, and the six Elders. Of them, the High Priestess's ability is unchallenged as the strongest with its original name of Spatio-Chronokinesis, which was simplified later due to being too difficult to pronounce.]

Arcturus listened with rapture to every word Halad uttered, intending to memorize everything even more than the other two that listened along with him. "No wonder she's so powerful... Wait, do you know all of their abilities?" Those brilliant orbs of the dragonling sparkled with the endless desire to learn more.

Halad, though it could not be seen due to the lack of facial details, made an odd sound, like one pursing their lips in frustration, [Yes, I do. I was getting to that.] Without missing a beat, the hologram A.I. decided it was easier to use visuals as well. It used the main console to raise a display, where it pulled up the data on the nine remaining Ancient Elf powers. Assigned by their possessors, they covered the screen with information to enunciate their capabilities.

___

___

[High Priestess: Space-Time Manipulation (Spatio-Chronokinesis).

Grants the bearer the ability to control time and space in any possible way, with restrictions that match its potential. Active control is necessary for day-to-day life, intentional usage of peering through timelines results in hibernation for the duration of usage, and time-hopping can result in the bearer's destruction.]

_

[Ancient Elf Sage: Atmospheric Manipulation (Aerokinesis)

Grants the bearer the ability to control everything pertaining to the air with great potential. Ability includes control over atmospheric pressure, toxicity of breathable air, wind manipulation, vacuum creation, air temperature with some restrictions, and flight. Requires a world with an atmosphere to be used.]

_

[Ancient Elf Emperor: Geomagnetic Manipulation (Geomagnetokinesis)

Grants the bearer the ability to control geomagnetic fields, subsequently requiring one to be within a location possessing such fields. Ability includes the concepts of attraction, rejection and even neutralization. Can lead to disastrous events if overused, such as empowering one field enough to attract objects from nearby, including asteroids.]

_

[First Elder: Ice/Frost Manipulation (Cryokinesis)

Grants the bearer control over the creation and manipulation of ice in various forms. Requires water in any of its forms, with greater powers coming in greater saturation levels. At its extremes, complete freezing of time and space is possible but will come at the cost of the bearer's life.]

_

[Second Elder: Temperature Control (Thermokinesis)

Grants the bearer control over the temperature, thus requiring an atmosphere for usage. Cannot directly influence any elements in the area, but increasing the temperature can decrease water saturation in the area. Overusage can result in permanent alteration to the location, potentially causing irreparable damage to the planet. Does not affect celestial bodies such as stars.]

_

[Third Elder: Electrical Manipulation (Electrokinesis)

Grants the bearer control over the forces of electricity, including lightning. Due to the nature of the ability, it requires either an atmosphere or a medium to be used. Does not include manipulation over bioelectricity, which would influence a living organism.]

_

[Fourth Elder: Metal Manipulation (Ferrokinesis)

Grants the bearer the ability to control metal in any of its forms, thus requiring a medium to be used. Cannot directly alter the composition of metals, does not include metallic forms within a living organism.]

_

[Fifth Elder: Light Manipulation (Photokinesis)

Grants the bearer control over light in its numerous forms, thus requiring light in order to be used. Usage includes mirages, invisibility, lightspeed movement of the user with restrictions, amplification, direction, nullification and spectrum alteration.]

_

[Sixth Elder: Vibration Manipulation (Seismokinesis)

Grants the bearer the ability to manipulate vibrations, this requiring a medium to be used, such as the atmosphere or a physical object. Rapid increasing of the vibrations of a solid object will result in its destruction, amplification and nullification of sound is included, and cannot be used on living targets.]

After pulling all the information up, Halad bluntly stated that everything he could reveal at present was there before going silent, leaving the three living beings to take in the information. Considering that the data included the original names of the abilities, it was a fairly decent description without going too deep into specifics. The simple descriptions made it easy to understand the abilities, even for the young dragon whelp, who mumbled, "No wonder the High Priestess's power is so strong, it doesn't require a medium to be used. Still, it has hefty penalties."

Luca nodded, "Of course it does. Such great power obviously requires restrictions in order to prevent total chaos. That said, I am most curious about the Sage and the Emperor. Based on my comprehension, the Sage's ability has higher potential compared to the Emperor's, whose power is closer to those of the Elders. However, you said earlier that there's only one first-generation individual left, that being the High Priestess. Even with the decline and destruction of their world's core, such a strong power couldn't have been second-generation."

Halad made a growling sound as it kicked a nonexistent object on the desk, [By all the stars, stop being so damn smart!] After taking a moment to recollect itself, the A.I. spoke again, much calmer but clearly still irritated, [I did say that there's only one first-generation individual left. However, that is due to a technicality. The High Priestess had, according to my information, already come of age prior to the mass exodus to Andor, thus her first-generation status is unquestioned. However, the Sage was born a few months prior to the exodus. While he is first-generation by immigration, he is listed as second-generation due to his age. As he was born prior to the beginning of the core's devouring, he possessed an ability from the natural, uncorrupted state of the world, while other second-gens had weaker versions after being born during the devouring of the core. As he was the youngest of all of the immigrants, he was a special child too, and after all but his four-year-old sister perished during the exodus, he was adopted by the High Priestess once she got married to the Emperor.]

Oh my lord, last minute completion and extreme mental breakdown complete!
