"What skills do you have? Silver rank Yasuo?"
"You don't understand, my Yasuo is really strong. Wait until I scale up, I'm going to get a pentakill!"
Jay waved his hand dismissively. He only played one champion, Yasuo. Although he was proficient with the champion, he often ended up getting himself killed. He loved taking on multiple opponents and going for the extreme kills, which was a stark contrast to his honest and quiet personality in real life.
An hour later, Maggie rode her bicycle to the internet cafe. She had clearly dressed up for the occasion, wearing light makeup that gave her a refined yet not overly flashy appearance. What was more surprising was that she wore a schoolgirl JK uniform with a short skirt, showing off her beautiful legs and giving off a youthful and cute yet sexy vibe.
Arthur's dormitory mates were all stunned.
"Oh my, how did I not notice before? Maggie looks so pretty!"
"Jay, you're lucky. She even dressed up for this!"
"Maggie has real potential. She used to have some baby fat, but after losing weight, her looks and figure are no less than Una's!"
Several lecherous roommates commented lewdly. Jay appeared somewhat embarrassed, his face turning red. But at the moment, he also felt proud—it was his date.
"Hey, beauty, how about we exchange WhatsApp?"
As soon as Maggie entered the internet cafe, a young man with a cigarette dangling from his mouth, looking like trouble, intercepted her. He immediately asked for her contact information, his gaze boldly sweeping over her chest and thighs.
"I'm sorry, I'm looking for someone." Maggie shook her head and refused.
"Don't walk away, just add me on WhatsApp!"
"I don't want to add you, please move aside."
"Fuck, you won't give me face? Dressing like this, you're obviously selling yourself. Stop pretending to be high and mighty!"
The thug seemed unwilling to give up, even grabbing Maggie's arm.
"Fuck, who do you want to add on WhatsApp? Bastard, move one more time and see what happens?"
Jay stood up suddenly, his face full of rage.
How could he stand by when his date was being harassed like this?
He rushed forward and kicked the thug.
"Fuck, you dare hit me..."
The thug was about to retaliate when he noticed three more people walking up behind Jay, clearly together.
Four against one—it was a fight he couldn't win.
"What's wrong with hitting you? You dare pursue my brother's woman, do you want to die?" Rex shouted fiercely.
"Fine, you have more people, I'll remember this!"
The thug tossed away his cigarette and quickly retreated, looking scared.
"Damn, thought he was tough, turns out he's just a coward!"
"Jay, nice job! You're usually so quiet, didn't expect you to throw down when it mattered. That's a real man!" Jay and Rex praised him.
"Heh heh, it's nothing, really. Those guys only know how to bully the weak!" Jay scratched the back of his head awkwardly.
Then he glanced at Maggie. Unexpectedly, Maggie was staring at Arthur.
"Arthur, thanks for stepping in just now to help me, and Jay, thank you too!"
"I didn't really do anything, you should thank Jay if anyone," Arthur said, baffled.
From start to finish, Arthur hadn't said a word, just stood behind Jay watching.
Was Maggie thanking the wrong person? Did she have some kind of problem?
At that moment, Xanthe walked over.
"Arthur, why don't you guys leave first? That guy looks like a thug, he might come back with friends later to cause trouble for you guys!"
Xanthe's suggestion made sense. Arthur thought, maybe it was better to avoid unnecessary trouble.
Before Arthur could respond, Jay interrupted, looking somewhat uncomfortable.
"Arthur, you should leave first. I'm not leaving today. A coward like him, I'm not afraid of him even if he does bring someone!"
Jay clearly spoke in anger. He wasn't stupid; it was obvious Maggie was giving Arthur a different kind of attention. Of course, guys cared about their pride. Having a girl come over and tell them to run away? No man liked hearing that. Plus, that guy might not even come back with friends! If he was scared away by a hypothetical situation, he'd seem even more cowardly!
"Don't worry, Jay, we're all brothers. We're not leaving, if there's a problem, we'll solve it together, if there's a fight, we'll fight together!" Rex patted Jay's shoulder.
"Come on, let's get online and play! Maggie, why don't you sit next to Jay?" Dave quietly used his brain. Have Maggie sit next to Jay.
"Alright!"
Maggie nodded, her enthusiasm not high. She actually wanted to sit next to Arthur, but she couldn't show it too much.
Arthur felt somewhat innocent.
He understood Jay's feelings.
A girl he invited out actually showed a different kind of attention to his roommate, making him feel bad!
But Arthur wasn't interested in Maggie either!
He didn't even want to deal with Una, let alone Maggie!
"Xanthe, can you get us some water? It's all good," Arthur said and patted Xanthe's head, making it clear that he already had a girlfriend, and it was evident that he intended to face the situation alongside his roommates.
"Alright," Xanthe replied, blushing. With her affection for Arthur now at 94 points, his affectionate gesture didn't bother her—instead, it thrilled her.
"By the way, Arthur, come over to my place tonight. I'm going to cook for you, so don't forget!" she whispered in his ear as she handed out the water.
Arthur felt his bones turn to jelly, his blood boiling with excitement. The weather suddenly felt oppressively hot. Glancing at Xanthe's sizzling figure, he found himself struggling to stay composed.
Game time, game time! Hmph! Women are trouble. There's no way they can be more fun than a game!
The game began. Arthur was playing Garen in the top lane, Jay was Yasuo in the mid lane, and Maggie was supporting in the bot lane. A support's role, after establishing an advantage in the bot lane, is often to roam and help the mid laner to create further advantages.
But Maggie, whether out of inexperience or intentionally, ignored this strategy. She didn't help Jay's Yasuo in the mid lane but instead roamed almost half the map to assist Arthur in the top lane, even neglecting the ADC.
"Maggie, there's no need to help top lane. I've already killed the enemy twice. Go help mid," Arthur suggested.
"It's okay, Arthur. I'll help you push the tower to build a bigger advantage," Maggie insisted.
"But you're taking my experience!" Arthur protested.
"Then I'll stand further back and just watch..."
"Maggie, can you come back to bot lane and help me? I'm completely pinned down here!" Rex couldn't help but voice his frustration. As an ADC, he was having a rough time.
Despite having an early advantage, they eventually lost the game. Everyone knew why. They were about to start another game when suddenly, over a dozen young men burst into the internet cafe. Some had tattoos, some had dyed hair, and some had buzz cuts—each looking distinct in their own way, but all had cigarettes hanging from their mouths and a readiness to fight.
Leading them was the thug Jay had kicked earlier.
"Fuck, you bunch of assholes, come out here! Weren't you so arrogant earlier? Try being arrogant again now!"
